So is anyone gonna answer my question?
If not, I'll just have to do it myself! :grumpy: Just bought some soldering iron and some solder and well, the rest would be up to my decision. If anything goes wrong, I blame you guys!!!! [/jk]

I was going to suggest that the headphones would be too small to work with... I also don't know a straight jack from a scissor jack.

My next question runneth over!

Why is it that when a picture shows up as a red X, but I know its there, I have to go searching for it to see what it looks like. But when I'm done searching for it, it magically appears. Why?

🤬, I think I just ruined a good set of earphones..... :(
The next best thing to do now is send it to an electrician and hope for the best...

But this just strikes me, why does electronic gadgets needs to have such a complicated wires? I mean, can't they just make it simple enough so that when it is broken, people can just fix it? Can't there be another way that they can make wires strong and simple enough that the wire could be very strong and still be easy enough for everyone to fix it? This is one of the biggest failures in technology! 👎 Copper wires are just old fashion and useless...... :grumpy:

Because, once you've seen it, its in your cache and the picture then gets displayed from there, not its original source (which is still blocked).

See, electronic gadgets need a way to get electrons from point A to point B, then point C, these points being components that do things to the electrons or react to what the electrons are doing. Copper wire is just about the best way known to do that.

If it were perhaps a mechanical gadget instead, it wouldn't need any complicated wires or resistors and such, it would need things like screws, levers, gears, and stuff. A lot of those things are even more complicated and harder to fix than some electronic gadgets. Compare, for example, a small-block V-8 to, say, a pair of headphones.

OTOH, I know where you're coming from in your complaint. Headphones in general have some of the smallest solder connections around, and some of the poorest strain relief. Still, careful handling always gives longer life, and I can't help but wonder from your description of the failure how the headphones have been treated. Are they carefully adjusted for fit, or does the wearer yank the earpiece down into place? Are they removed gently, or yanked by the wires and tossed onto a nearby table or floor, or worse, stuffed into a pocket and sat upon? Is the connector pulled from the appliance by the heavy part of connector's plug or by pulling the wire itself? No accusations, just wondering from what I've seen in my own house done to my own equipment. Before it got locked away.

What does a Racing Driver do if they're in the middle of a race and they need the Toilet?

Go in their pants. Haven't you watched the Christmas episode of TG? (I think it was xmas) xD

They typically won't ever have to. Race car drivers are monitored by their team a day or so before the race to watch they eat and drink. They clean out their bodies before the race as well. 1 of the LaBontes once said he sweats the water he drinks out.

If they do have to go though, it'll be their suits, but the pre-race monitoring is there to get around that.

They drink a lot of fluids pre-race, and visit the facility immediately before getting in the car as well. The fluids not disposed of then are sweated out, which is why they took so much in in the first place.

Race driving is NOT running down the freeway in an air-conditioned room sitting on a big sofa with a 94-speaker music system going. It's hard work, and a heavily athletic endeavor. Top open-wheel cars corner at 4 or 5 gs, and while NASCAR cars can't do that, they're ovens inside the cockpit.

That is some strong air freshener they have, when they have to go number 2.

Edit: I was a bit too late on that one but I would think so also. That would have to train their bodies to endure the Race Day.

Like wfooshee said, I've read a number of driver's (auto-)biographies, and they typically claim to eat/drink very little before race day, and even less so in the hours up to the race's start.

That may be changing a bit now, as I see drivers drink quite a bit before the races start; heck, I don't like to drink much of anything before going on a long drive/trip.

When your crammed into a cockpit barely able to move I think the last thing your backdoor muscles are doing is relaxing.

Who would have the advantage there, the rookie or the veteran?

Is it possible for Pluto to be involved in a full head-on collision with Neptune in the next 6 million years?

Edit: Thanks, Joey D.

Is it possible for Pluto to be involved in a full head-on collision with Neptune in the next 6 million years?

No.

Space.com
Did you wonder: Will Pluto and Neptune ever collide? They won't, because their orbits are so different. Pluto intersects the solar system's ecliptic, or orbital plane, twice as its orbit brings it "above," then "below" that plane where most of the other planets' revolve -- including Neptune. And, though they are neighbors Pluto and Neptune are always more than a billion miles apart.

Also here is a fun fact:

Wonderquest
By the way, Neptune's largest moon, Triton, is gradually getting closer to Neptune and will collide with the planet in about ten to a hundred million years.

Since the Digital Orrery looked though the next billion years in the solar system and it didn't happen, Triton will hit Neptune well before Pluto thinks about it.

What does a Racing Driver do if they're in the middle of a race and they need the Toilet?

The odds are very small they will ever have to go during a race. Certainly urination is not an issue because they are sweating it all out, to the point that staying hydrated is the problem, not disposing of used water.

[edit] OK, so I was treed like, 12 times. D'oh.

What does a Racing Driver do if they're in the middle of a race and they need the Toilet?

I know its already been answered, but

Most of the time, its just number 1. Pray that it isnt number 2, or else their going to have some serious comfort issues. But if they just cant hold their pee in, they just wet them selfs, and when they pull into the the winner circle, they get drenched in whatever they are spraying, and you cant even tell.

Driving for two hours in a cockpit that's twice as hot as a sauna, peeing is probably the last thing on your mind. You're sweating so damn much that you actually need to take a drink (if you've got a water bottle like F1 drivers do) every few laps to keep from passing out from dehydration.

How endurance drivers live through that crap, I can't even begin to imagine. The longest stint I've ever done on the racetrack was fifteen minutes, and you're so bone-tired after that, you don't really feel like going out again. Or maybe that's just me... I'm getting wimpy in my age...

Does anyone else want Suzuki to make an Espresso? It would be cool to have a model to replace the old Cappuccino.

Ok, I remember Mythbusters doing a segment on Mooses getting hit by a car. Most of the time they destroyed the front of the car and probably would've done a lot of damage to the driver. What about deer? They are more "common" here. What would be the result at say 60mph? Still a lot of damage? Does it make a difference if my car is lower and a wedge?

Thanks

Yeah, so true so true. But its really weird how complicated electronics are compared to cars.... :p

As for the handling of my earphones/ headphones, just don't ask. I'm terrible at taking care of my stuff. :guilty: Almost have 20-30 earphones/headphones broken, either the wire came off, the part broke itself or just plain mishandling. But the one I was talking about is very expensive. I never bought any new earphone for more than 5$, and the most expensive was about 10+$ but this one costs almost 30-40US$!!! Its the most expensive earphone that I have bought, and just can't believe it went broken in less than several months. :( But yeah, just need to look on the bright sight. Send it to an electrician and get it repair and pay for it.....

Like what others just said. But if they had to really really go, they would just do it in their car. I don't know if I remembered correctly but I heard that Aryton Senna used to pee in his car a lot. Seriously, that was the most funniest thing I've ever heard......

Endurance isn't too different. A stint usually lasts what, 3-4 hours? A little more than what some Nascar drivers have raced for.

1 of the LaBontes once said he sweats the water he drinks out.

Yeah. I remember hearing once that Mark Webber's water bottle broke in a race, and he'd lost 2kg in weight after the race.

Best thing to hit a deer with is a rifle bullet.

If you have to kill them with a car, use a BIG car, at least a pickup or SUV. A low car will just scoop them into the windshield so you can eat antlers.

I've been told that deer are the number one animal killer of humans in the United States, but I think it's actually dogs, then deer.

Is there a snow season in Tennessee? I have a snowboard, but I'm moving to Tennessee and I'm not sure what the winter scene is like. If its not very good then the board will be something I can sell to get some extra cash.

Gatlinburg is one of the biggest winter resorts in the South. Ski resorts and everything. Probably not what you'd see in Colorado, but around the best in the Southeast (from what I understand, not being a skier.)

I've heard this before. Why do so many people get killed by dogs in the states? I remember seeing some figures on how many deaths are caused by dog attacks, I was amazed. Got any more information on this?

I realise that all dogs can be dangerous (well barring those little rat things, they don't have big enough jaws to do anything) are there just more of the 'dangerous' breeds? The way the animals are brought up?

Stupid people most likely.
