Sometimes I would enter a race and within a few minutes, get booted.
I'm not bothered by getting booted but a lot of people don't give a reason before they boot you.

Sometimes, they just laugh and boot you out again with no explanation.

I dont get it....
Heck, If you accidentally bump someone, you get booted....
This is just weird....
I feel that some people are way too serious.....
Heck there are so many times I get bumped and had to go back to the end of the line...:dopey:

Yeah some people are way too serious....if you want to race with people who don't mind the odd bump or two...check us out...

The 'fun racers' are taking it in turns to choose car and track each week...we race Sunday and Monday evenings...Sunday is lots of short races..Monday we have a big 10 lap race...all very light and fun..

I spent about 15 minutes looking for a Super GT race the other night. I could only find one and it was a Japanese server. I joined it. There were about a total of 13 players in the room. They were all Japanese except for myself and one other player in the room. We were both US. The race was about to start and I was excited but suddenly the other US person was gone and then a couple of seconds later I was kicked. No explanation but I'm pretty sure why it happened. Took me about another 15 minutes to find a different Super GT room. :(

It's also possible that they started the lobby to race with a friend or two, and in between the time they opened the lobby, and their friends showed up, you showed up first. Nothing sinister there, you're just not my friend Chris ! :)

How's your speed to UK rooms? I might set one up.

I think the next update should have a feature to require the host to pick a reason for any boots. Heck, I would not mind looking at my boot report to see how can I improve.

For example,

1. Bumping too much
2. Don't know how to drive/Causing accidents.
3. Too much profanity
4. Continued use of wrong class cars
5. etc.....

Agreed, I think it would be nice to see a reason.

2 days ago, i was comfortably in last place 4 secs behind second to last minding my own business and catching up.
three laps in i get kicked, at these moments i would love to know why they kick me, this happened twice in a short period, really annoying

I know. I got booted a couple of times for no good reason. I race clean. One time I think I know the reason. I hit someone from behind but it wasn't really my fault. I have the line but he cut me off and went in front of me. Tried to brake but hit him by a touch and still got booted.

Well that's what a private lounge is for no doubt. They don't call it an open lobby for nothing, by all means race your mates but to kick someone out of a public lobby because you don't know them is pretty silly.

You might need to add an option to select, "because it's my lobby and you were beating me." The petulance displayed online is incredible, I mean how many times do you see people quit races because they are 10 seconds behind?

It's a sadly prevalent human characteristic that given an ounce of power we will tend to wield it crudely and abuse it. You see it all the time in online lobbies, and it mostly comes from people who can't really drive all that well themselves, they weave all over the track and then when you hit them trying to get past they get all antsy about it, or they outbreak themselves into the back of you and get all indignant about it.

I reckon I win 10% of my online races at best, because people out there are better than me. It doesnt matter to me though, I enjoy having competition that is there right up to the last second of the race, surely what online is all about. If you want to carry on like a peanut with your mates why not use your private lounge to do it? Why just sit down in front of your PS3 with the express intent of irritating people who just want to race?

Same here i only race online with friends and the room header states friend and private, still get gatecrashers so they get booted.

Normally, if you know your host and he does his business right, then things like these shouldn´t happen. And if it happens accidentally, then you WILL receive a short "sorry" or whatever from the host, if he´s proper enough..

This is another reason why I'm waiting for matchmaking before I start racing online on a regular basis. No one will be in control of the rooms, at least, that's what I'm hoping for.

I haven't played online long enough to get booted, but I understand that is must be really annoying to get kicked for no reason at all. 👎

I find its sometimes down to what country you are from, I am from UK and find I get booted all the time by French and Spanish hosts so tend to stick to American and UK rooms. There not much competition so not realy a loss anyway! :sly:

You also have to remember. You can start a vote on whether or not somebody gets the boot. Perhaps it isn't the owner of the room, but his fellow racers that didn't like the lack of driving skills. I started a few of those votes.

I will leave a room if i see the person doing this. I had one guy come out and state to the leader he wouldn't win the race. He would kick him before the race ended if the leader was going to win.

I also leave rooms when the owner is beating on my car to keep me from passing him.

When I run a lobby, I'll usually tell you when I'm kicking you out. They way people drive, I'm sure they usually know why they get the boot.

My favorite reason for being me being kicked out of a room is because I didn't speak the language. Now I avoid any room hosted with a certain flag...

The most frustrating booting was may second race in the room. The host and I battled pretty hard for 3rd place in the first race, he ultimately took 3rd. In the second race the race was very laggy and we were in another heated battle for 3rd. We entered the straight on Route 5 in tandem. I was able to pull along side him by drafting. I knew I couldn't beat him to the next turn and just when I let off the gas, POP, the lag showed him right in front of me. Before I could hit my brake, I rammed the heck out of him. I waited for him to pass in the turn, but that wasn't enough.

Didn't even give me the chance to say sorry.

there's a problem too, if you make a mistake (everyone does eventually) you should get some time to explain yourself instead of getting the boot a second after the race ends.

a while ago after the race i complained about the penalty system (10 sec engine cut, for being slightly over the kerb) and the host thought i was talking about the restrictions he had set, so faster than i can say kick, i get kicked

Most of the times I get kicked is because I am from a different country. What's wrong with a British guy in a French room?

I'm also a victim of that.

Entered a Japanese SSR7 room to test out my Wangan-tuned Countach LP400. Someone played dirty on me then after a while of resisting his dirty tactics, I got kicked.

Gay.

It's because they give up and get the white flags out if anyone from another country is beating them

I always get booted too. A few days ago I joined a Nascar room at Indy. It was a 20 lapper and the race started with 15 people. In the first lap there were multiple crashes, some on purpose and others on accident. All but two others and I left the race. Then on lap 2 the other two people left the race, leaving me all alone. I could hear them telling me to quit the race but I refused because I wanted to them to see what a clean racer looks like LOL. I made it to lap 5 before I was kicked. Sometimes I'm kicked from a room before I can even choose my ride....

I think it is even worse when the room is called something like "uk only or kick" I mean …why? are some people scared or something? If I open a room, people from all over the world join me, and I enjoy that. I do understand if someone wants to host a room only for friends, but what about the private lobby, can those people not just use that one instead?

Yes I hate it when this happens to me… "only …french or british or whatever" rooms are so annoying :ouch:

The reason people do this is because racing with people from other countries can increase lag, especially with people with poor connections. So rather than wait to see whether racing with someone from a different country does indeed create lag, they just boot them out incase they do.

Ever since I started disabling microphones in my rooms I don't care where you're from.
Though I still get offended when people aren't using English.
Worst of all is when they speak their own language towards me (the host) to start the game (ie saying commence or similar).
Idiots don't learn English perhaps.

I created a room the other day for X2010's at Daytona Superspeedway. We had people from all over the world in there, no rules, just race. After 4 races, I lost the server somehow (perfect internet connection on Uverse). I'm chalking it up to a PSN overload due to Call Of Duty Black Ops map downloads.
