I wouldn't know for sure, it seems like at one point Neuspeed had done some stuff for the factory back in the MKIII years... I can't recall for certain.

Odd, really, how it all works out.

How has that relationship with Mugen and HPV (thats Honda Performance Vehicles) worked out recently? There used to be a lot of HPV Civics and Accords on the lot here, but lately, I haven't seen any... Same with the NISMO Nissan products. We finally get their products/models, and I've maybe seen two of them to date.
It looks like that deal has been working mainly in Japan. I've seen a few Hondas in Japan that claim to have Mugen parts on Honda dealers there. Same with Nissan.

I've only seen one of the Mugen Si Civics here, and at least two of the NISMO 350Zs. Neither of which I found all that impressive, certainly too expensive, but they sold quickly. So I guess thats all that matters...

The last two times I have filled up I have put sunoco 93 octane in, its 3.90 here. Is that cheap compared to other places or is that just me. BTW I am only going to but the require 91 or 93 in it... preferably 93. Its runs so nice on it.

That sounds about what the national average might be. I paid $4.02 per gallon last time I filled up but gas is usually pretty expensive here. I always run premium too. I've never seen what happens with regular. And it gets pretty peppy if you put some of that octane booster in.

How fast have you gotten it to? I've noticed that it's really quick up to about 100 and it slows down until the speedo is really crawling up around 120. Best I've gotten was 125 before I had to slow down.

I saw one of the Mugen Si's at the Rivertown Honda dealership, looked amazing. Wish I could afford that car.

They are really overpriced and apparently the dealer mark ups on them are ridiculous.

Dealer markups are bad, but I don't believe they're too overpriced. They're only $7-8K over a Si, and that extra money is practically paying for all those aero and improved performance, as well as exclusivity.

I have not gone past 80 yet. I'm scared of getting pulled over and the engine hasn't been broken in yet. I'm sure I will go fast but not yet. Now I am just taking it easy and trying not to become another teen statistic. I have gone 110 in the suzuki xl-7 a few months ago but I have mellowed down.

You know you'll run better gas mileage if you use 87 octane right? It was burn as much at one time, netting more mpgs.

But I applaud you sticking to the premium for your baby.

Most cars get worse mileage with a lower grade of fuel when they require a higher one. I know with my Cooper if I were to put 87 in it, not only would I get knocks but I would loose a lot of mpg's.

Well I must have missed that the cars I read this on ran 87 normally.

EDIT: Yeah, that's it.

I think most European cars run on premium whether they are sporty or not. The 118hp Cooper is far from a sports car but 93 octane is recommended.

And they complain about high prices? It's shown round here cars can all get pretty good mileage on 87.
