GTI's are the only cars I'd buy in white. Goos choice. I see you got the plaid seats, great choice as well. Typically I hate kids who get nice new cars as their first cars, but you seem like a nice kid so congrats.
Welcome to the club! What you have there is definitely my second favorite wheel/color/interior combination. 👍
Good luck with it. These things are immensely fun, even after a year and 18,000 miles driven. I just hope you are ready for a car that may get more miles on a tow truck than on the road. Mine has vacuum issues and I think we may have oil problems too. Hopefully yours will do better.
tisGoddamn. That's choice for a first car.
Leases work where you pay a given portion of the car's worth for three years, and then at the end of the term, you can finance for purchase what you owe on the car (would be in the neighborhood of $11k I assume) or you can turn it in for a new one and do the whole process again for three years.
...Its kinda like renting a car for an extended period of time...
I'm likely to do the same with a Mazda 3, only because its going to end up being cheaper (monthly) and will come with a warranty. Which is a HUGE bonus.
Still, keeping my eyes peeled for a used car. I may have a friend who will sell me his W210...
Lol thanks, I am paying off the whole thing including insurance and gas myself. I may need to get another job thoough.
Sweet car!
Now don't forget to look in magazines like Sport Compact Car for all the great deals on sets of wheels with tires!
Based on a guess that's full of tuner wheels and whatnot.
Take a look on Vortex, see how they do it (NJ is ballin' big), let it sink in and take your time with wheels. The stance can make or break a car. Congrats with a new car, just don't drive it like an idiot and kill someone in traffic. Looking forward to see you around over there![]()
It being a lease, you can't modify it with anything other than VW-approved parts... Which you can add to your lease price.
Thanks dude I'm in love with it. Its so hard to keep it below 3500 rpms!
I recommend leaving it stock before playing with it. At least pay it off. It's a GTI, a car that's not inherently flawed from the factory, at least, in a major way.
Yea NJ is a big vw place a lot of my friends are into them too. Trust me I am a good driver. Especially because this car is like my child I don't shift over 3,000 just so I can save gas (it takes premium, and that what I am going to put in it) and because it isnt broken in yet.
You'll probably be like that for a while. The car is such a joy that I'm still having huge trouble not trying to have as much fun as possible with every corner or stoplight. And it's fun experimenting with the different areas of the powerband and the different notes that come out of the exhaust.
Aside from reliability, the car is amazing in every way. If there's anything I'd do to my car, it would be little things like an intake and such.
The car should be good at keeping you out of trouble. It isn't fast enough to get you into too much, and you'll be perfectly safe if you are responsible. And it is pretty responsive so you can generally get out of trouble if you make a mistake or something.
Also how many miles do you get out of a tank.
Not a very good idea on a lease. You're easily risking your warranty being thrown away. Just some advice from a long-time leaser. Its a lease. I know after 3 years I will want the newest thing out there so I think its a good idea. I can modify it but I just have to remove the parts in 3 years (not like I can afford to modify it.)
Then those are going to be either manufacturer parts or a VW tuner who works like Dinan.I know my friend with an 07 gti was telling me today about the parts that void the warentee. I still want to get a new diverter valve with a spacer to make the nice pssh noise and I also here that the stock diverter valve is kind of crappy. My friend had the warentee and he went to get it fixed when he messed it up and they said it was fine but idk.
Then those are going to be either manufacturer parts or a VW tuner who works like Dinan.
If it isn't 1 of those, your friend is pulling your leg. Dealerships love to throw away your warranty when they see aftermarket parts.
Everything Dinan offers is covered guaranteed. I also, do know that Honda/Acura only cover their own parts. And seeing as Neuspeed works with both Honda/Acura, and VW/Audi, I wouldn't expect VW to cover them if Honda/Acura won't.VW themselves offer some parts through the dealer, so it would be best to talk to them. Like McLaren pointed out, Dinan occasionally gets their stuff approved by the factory as well (I think Neuspeed does too?). But given how new it is, and furthermore, how the car isn't even broken-in yet, it should be the furthest thing from your mind at the moment...
Just my opinion:
The GTI is a dish best-served stock anyway.
