Going to attempt to do the 24hr Nurb using the Vertigo. While testing both cars on the High Speed Ring this is what I discovered:

Here's the question then I'll get into the supporting evidence.

Do you think the Vertigo would beat the Bentley at Nurb over the long haul?
I personally think if set up for quick acceleration (it's lightening to begin with) the Vertigo would win by a long ways; because of the speed-up/slow-down nature of the ring. The Vertigo would just keep opening a gap over 70-80% of the ring because of it's ability to get up to speed fast.

Vertigo

Not a heck of a lot written about in even on the web. It's a pocket rocket. Lightening acceleration with a normal top speed of about 225. Adjusted the tranny to go to 255. It will hit about 235 on the H-Ring. The down side is it's a highly unstable car. You have to drive it "right" all the time. Unlike a car like the 458 Italia which has the ability to overcome mistakes and maintain stability.

Bentley
The Bentley on the other had is a superior car on the H-Ring by about 2 seconds. It won't get off to the same lightening start as the Vertigo but it'll cruise effortlessly at a higher speed. Key word EFFORTLESSLY. It's like a big supercruiser. One of the most stable cars in the game.

Anyone who has the time should run the Bentley against the 908 on the H-ring.

The problem on the Nurbring is that the Bentley can handle the slow-down/speed-up as well as the Vertigo.

What are your thoughts?

Over an endurance race I wouldn't be able to keep up the concentration required with the Vertigo. Tuning the settings to keep it 'stable' severely hinders it. It's a great challenge (from experience) but I never finished the race in the end as it became more of a chore than anything else.

I reckon if you concentrate hard enough, have the stars in line with the wind pointing in the right direction you can get the vertigo around the ring faster than the Speed 8. The bentley though is way more consistent racer.

I always found the Vertigo to require more frequent pit stops than other cars in its class. I can't speak for the Bentley yet, which I consider in a different class anyway.

If the Vertigo has lost her tires, she's lost her speed, so that's a big factor. On that track especially, where you sometimes realize you should have pit only to have another while before you can.

Some cars simply aren't suited to some tracks. It depends how many laps you're doing on the 24hr Nurb, but I would say more than one pit stop's worth = wrong car.

Imagine driving a lap around the Nurburging with completely worn down tires after hours and hours of racing. Do you want the twitchy Vertigo? Or the stable and docile Bentley.

Wait, is he saying the level 40 race, 24 hours long, or just the track layout?

Because it would be damn impressive if he took this car to that event and won. If he's looking for the ultimate GT5 challenge, he should do that while listening to Lazytown songs.

Lazytown songs huh? Maybe! ;)

I tried the Vertigo on the Nurburgring only for a short while, not even a full lap of the 24hr layout and the best review that I can give is to say that the car is quite properly named!...👎

if you can drive it right, the vertigo is one of the fastest and most fun cars out there.
if you can't drive it right, the vertigo is one of the slowest and most terrible cars out there
