Put then in the microwave for 10-15 minutes.

But on a serious note, just brake hard and put all the brake bias at the front.
Try it at La Sarthe at night at the end of the Mulsanne Straight. 👍

Do I need to have damage on, and have like... A really "brakey" car? And do I need to warm them up first on a few long brakes?

Just not a car that's too slow.
I believe there are already threads on this though...
You shouldn't have to warm them up.

A hard application using a stock standard car will work, no need to go making a 'brakey' car.

Glowing disc brakes start becoming noticeable by doing hard braking from 160 mph+. It helps to see it better by doing it at dusk. Works best with race cars. take the Peugeot 908 hdi FAP to le sarthe. I took some great photos of its brakes glowing really brightly.

I'm not sure if brake glow is seen on standard cars though.

This is a stock GT-R specV with sport softs after braking for Bergwerk.
220 km/h - 100km/h approximately.

Nope. You just have to pick la sarthe weather change/time change and do a couple of laps until the sun sets. When the sun goes down, you have very little time to get a good shot (not too much ambient light, but not too little) because it gets dark quickly.

Try to select a premium car that comes with carbon ceramic brake(to me they seems to glow brighter). Some examples are, GTR Vspec, 458 italia and LP670-4. Next go for the car top speed run at mulsanne straight, and brake as hard as you can at the end of the straight. During the replay, press pause when your car speed is slow down to 120-150kmph. You will see your brake glowing!

Taken from the "Pics of brakes glowing" in the photomode subforum, here's some good examples of brakes glowing in GT5:

In SHIFT2 and even Forza 3, it's a bit too easy to get you brake glowing. In both GT4 and GT5, it usually takes a few hard corners before the disc starts to get hot enough and glows.

(Not qouting the pictures)
That's really nice mate!
I've tried it with the GTR as it has abit more weight and indeed, ceramics brakes.
It is glowing, but not shining.
But I got the idea. Now gonna try some heavier, top speed'er cars!

Take it to the track in a super car on SSR7 (long track at night...)

I took my Lexus LFA once and wow it looked awesome, don't bother with Le Mans track tho, as you have to wait till it gets dark and then wait until it gets dark on the replay...

So ture.
Yet in Sarthe it's much better as there is no lighting. But still, CBA waiting.

Have always been fascinated by the glowing brakes in the game. I have just notice that gtpl... Does the "photo competitions" , and I'm trying really hard to get some good pics. However I stumbled over a previous comp. and noticed how wonderful one of the Italias had done. I've been trying so hard to go up and down ss7 with zero TC, going about 230mph, having the brakes at 10-10, and I still get nothing. I'm now trying to see if a DB9 will work. I'd prefere to use that one anyways. If some one could help me that would be great!

My I.D. Is swagger897. I have a mic. Message me first so I know who you are, I'm full on friends.

I'd really like to compete in these competitions to see if I can win one. I've done some really good ones with the challenger but it's mediocre I think thanks!!

Zero traction control would do nothing to induce brake glow. Unless you meant zero ABS, which is also counter productive since wheel lock up means the brake rotors don't have the constant friction necessary to create heat.

It's pretty easy to get brake glow on the Peugeot 908 and Audi R10. With road cars I've gotten some with the Merc SLS, I can't see the Ferraris being much different. I'd leave the aids in their stock form though, specially ABS.

I don't really know, but I'm with you: pictures from wheels with the brakes "burning" are amazing. Another problem that I find is showing the wheels moving in the picture; or they appear moving so fast, and the brakes don't appear in the picture or the wheels are completely stopped...

I just did a run in a stock 458 (because I have a bunch) and used a slow-to-start braking method from 150 to 100 and then hard enough braking to prevent tire slip from 100 to 0, checked the replay and sure enough the brakes were orange hot from about 75 to 0.

Glowing brakes should be easy to do, I think all you have to do is brake hard, because that's all I did to make my Aston's brakes glow:

I see glowing brakes all the time at Tokyo at the end of the front stretch. It's about the only track other than Monza - long straights with a 90 degree turn or higher - Fugi is great too for those pics.

It has to be a premium car, but since you're using the DB9 that's not a problem. Just brake hard, long, in one go.

Yes I believe its just braking hard that creates this effect.:D
But what a nice picture.:D
Bye for now.:)
