How much horsepower does it have?

Hi all,

Right, Most of you that expressed interest in the Go-Karting have replied to me with your preferences, I have looked at the overall picture and tried to accomodate everyone where possible but please understand I cant please all of the people all of the time.....

It was a pretty even split between venues and also between enduro/F1 style event, Ancaster just pipped it though and the F1 event also came out slightly ahead, so here is what I propose

VENUE - ANCASTER

EVENT - F1 - (5min practice, 10min qualifying, 50 lap race)

DATE - Ancaster can accomodate us quite well at the moment, I suggest SUN 3RD SEPTEMBER.

PRICE - £45 per driver.

*This event is for 12-19 drivers, if we can get 20 drivers Ancaster will open up the full circuit for us, currently the list stands at approx 14 drivers, so Invite your friends and family, know anyone else on GTP that might be interested? Drop them a line and let them know about this.*

I would like to book this as soon as possible so we have something definate to work to, what i need is a deposit from each driver of £25 ideally or whatever you can afford, I will PM all interested parties with my address to send cheques to. The sooner I get your deposits the sooner I can book something with definate numbers.

Additionally I have spoken with Jordan about the possibility of getting GTP T/shirts or Polo shirts printed up with each persons username (or whatever you want) on the back which IS possible, I thought it would be a good touch to make the event a bit more special, this could be done for approx $20 + shipping for each shirt depending on what style you might want. You can view the styles available at the site STORE Please let me know if you would like to take advantage of this offer!

Ok back to you guys now, Ideally I would love to see 20+ drivers for this event to get the full circuit, so im off to find some more UK drivers to PM!
Please only sign to this if you can genuinely make it.

thanks and regards

David

I'd love to go, but I'm at Goodwood for the Revival Meeting on the 3rd September :(

I'd love to go, but I'm at Goodwood for the Revival Meeting on the 3rd September :(

Date is a suggestion Roo, bank holiday wkend didnt look clever so I suggested the next one.

Most people were not too specific about dates in replies to me so we can change that to ANY weekend in september, whatever works best for everyone.

regards

David

That'd be cool - the 3rd is the only date in September I can't do.

And if I can go, I'd definately want a T-shirt.

Hopefully a date can be generally agreed on soon, due to the fact I work weekends, I need to know a finalised date so that I can get the time off.

Yep, Understand and agree, this is the hardest part of organising something lile this!

Someone else mentioned the 9th/10th was no good, may I suggest we try Sun 17th of Sep?

David

I'm in, and can do any weekend.

Bear in mind though that the 16th is my birthday. Presents will be mandatory if we go on the 17th...

Don't worry, if we go on the 17th I'll give you a turd, I mean present.

Regarding the dates, what time would the race be most likely run?

ok looks like ive been a bit slow today. Just sent my apologies to dave saying i cant make the 3rd because of the edition 38 volkswagen show, come on here and the 3rd has been scrapped.

YIPPIE!!!!

I will send you a cheque in about 2 weeks, got to get all the bills paid first!! Also A GTP poloshirt with my name stamped on the back should be great! count me in on that one!

Ben

OK so now its the 17th and thats fine for me.

Dave I will get my cheque in the post to you over the next day or two, you should have it early next week.

Regards

Scaff

BTW - Famine, your present would be the pleasure of meeting us all (or am I just a cheap sod).

I'd need a time before I could say for certian, late afternoon would be better because I'm more often than not tied up (not literally) in the mornings with work and then I'd need to get there (obviousely) which is a 2hr drive, unless I do a bat out of hell thing, then maybe 1 and a half.

And Scaff, I think your right about Famine present, his meeting us all is surely enough .

4pm onwards is pretty definite, 3pm is at this point in time, maybe, 2pm is probably not.

I have spoken with the potential venue and we can do after 4pm no problem.

Obviously depends on numbers as to how much flexibility we get!

I see you've chosen Ancaster as your venue and to be honest there are much better circuits in the midlands which also does corperate events. Try PF International (which isn't that far at all from Ancaster) near Stragglethorpe off the A17 where they hold the British Kartmasters GP as well as British Super 1/Stars of Tomorrow championship rounds and it was host to the 2nd round of the Rotax Euro Challenge last year. I do know they do corperate events but I don't know much about them as I've only been there for proper karting events so you'll need to do your own research sorry :guilty:

Or if that doesn't suit you how about Whilton Mill near Daventry which is home to the very challenging Boot complex at the end of the lap as well as the Zulu downhill chicane and the very fast banked crooks corner at the beginning of the lap. They run arrive and drive events throughout the week I believe but check out www.whiltonmill.co.uk for more details. If you go for this track try and get use of the National circuit and not the club circuit. If you go for the club track you'll live to regret it LOL!!!

Other circuits include Birmingham Wheels, Chasewater (when it's finally built) at Norton Canes, Daytona Milton Keynes, 3 Sisters at Wigan (if you count that as midlands) or even Wildtracks at Newmarket and I can guarantee you they'll be much better circuits than Ancaster and the karts will be much more powerful.

Anyway you can count me in as long it isn't on the 4th weekend of the month as thats race weekend for me and I'm sure my brother would like to do it as well.

Today I went on a go-kart simulator in the haynes motor museum in yeovil, I won :)
But I doubt I would win in a real race

hey guys - let me know when and where - i'll probably be flying into the UK mid-Sept for a few weeks - need to know whether to bring my racesuit and helmet

thanks

Apologies to anyone actually still interested but this event is no longer going to happen.

Due to several factors including starting a new shift pattern I dont think im able to offer the committment required in organising this.

Judging by the amount of replies etc it may well have turned out to be a non starter anyways....:indiff:

apologies again

regards
