God of war

Beat it... Playing on God Mode... Apparently Medusa can kill me in 2 hits!! Well at least the other Gorgons are weaker... But a lot of dodging and blocking...

BTW 3 bosses? Thats it? I wish they put in that boss they had to take out cause they run out of time (watch the stuff that gets unlocked)...

And did anyone beat challenge of the Gods? I got stuck on that Kill minotaur only mission... Damn weak undead solders!!

BTW it makes me wish DMC 3 had checkpoints and save points in missions...

10 hours to beat the game ???

QUOTE]

No not to beat the game. I ran around the levels a lot looking for extra orbs, which there were none and some of the puzzles I could not figure out right away so that is just extra time being put on the save. I am at 10 hours right before you Kratos gets severly wounded by Ares.

hmm, they show up fine here. I´ll take them off anyway since I´m too lazy to host it myself. :p

Im stuck on the first level. That boss is hard.
The three headed one? You have to kill the two heads on the floor first by getting them dizzy and going up those boxes on the side of each one. Then you have to cut a rope I think, so a part of the ship falls on the two heads.

After you kill those two, just go up there and kill the third head. I think that´s it.

I got the demo for this game from PSM but I can't play. My PS2 is still at the repair center. Not only that, but it still hasn't been seen by a repair tech yet. That sucks. Sony closed down a PS2 repair center and the one in San Diego is the only one now. This is the last time I do this.

Yeah I meant the third head one wasn't tough it was just hurting my fingers tapping O really fast. I beated him through. Then got me some you know what afterwards on the ship lol.

I tried all weekend long to rent this game. They were rented out everywhere! Friday saturday and sunday. :indiff:

My only reservation is the short game completion time. I can't stand games I can beat quickly. Does this game really warrent a purchase if you can beat it in 8 hrs??

8 grrrrrreeeeeeeeeat hours I must add.

And I have almost 10 hours on it already and haven´t finished yet. I like to mess around. :D

But nobody has said the replay value is any good. WHat level of difficulty are you playing on it?

Thats a great point. I just looked and its only a single player game. Thats going to reduce the replay value dramatically for me. Im sure I will just rent it and that will be good enough.

I´m not the kind of guy that plays the same game over and over after I finish it. The only games I remember finishing more than one time are MGS2 and NFS: HP2. But I can assure you I will play this one again, at least one time. And the game has a lot of extras too, such as making of´s and playable levels that didn´t make it to the final build.

I´m playing it on normal mode btw.

Went out and bought it during lunch. I figured I needed SOMETHING to give me a break after a long endurance race or something on GT4.

Fable takes around 8-10 to beat people still purchased it. (althought it has side quests that add a few more hours of gameplay)

Resident Evil 1 could be beat in 75 minutes :)

God mode is pretty awesome to go through... Though I'd admit that I have no clue if I'll ever finish it on that mode...

For a play through for normal mode only... Just rent it... It will be the best time you've spent on the PS2 (besides the GT series...)

Hmmm... I don't like it. I think it's too much like Prince of Pershia which I also didn't like. It looks gorgeous, and there seemed to be more of a "strategy" feel to it compared to other 'hack 'n slash' games. But, these type of games aren't for me. But, I can see why you guys love it so much.

I finally had a chance to play this last night. I only played for about an hour which was enough for me to get past all the dragons including the 3 headed dragon at the end. I have to add that the dragon fight was sick as hell.
This game really does remind me of prince of persia but a lot better so far. Like I said I only played for an hour so im not sure if it gets a lot better or if that 3 headed dragon is as good as it gets.
Does it get a lot better or is this pretty much the layout of the game?? Since it is only single player and not online I would say the replay value would be next to zero. If I decided to go thru and beat this game I wouldn't play it again.

I've been playing it off an on for the last few days, and I'm up to the save point where you're looking over the cliff at the monsterous Titan stepping on the puny mortals. While it's been mildly entertaining to this point, it certainly hasn't been challenging (Using normal mode, havn't tried the others yet). Hopefully it will get more difficult as I progress.

Another complaint is how straight forward the progression of the game has been. It basically leads you by the hand everywhere, and there's not been much room to stray from the path at this point. I would really like a "pan" option to look around better as well.

I think some puzzles are harder than the fighting. But I don´t think it´s too easy, to the point of ruining it. What I do like are the level´s design. You can see places on the background really far, and later on you´re playing there, very cool!

Yeah, I agree with that aspect (visually), but there's not (so far at least) any "I can see it, but...how the hell do I GET there?" The game seems to lead you straight to everything. Perhaps I havn't progressed far enough yet.

Either that or I´m slower than you. :p

Some places it took me a while to figure out what to do, but nothing too hard. The puzzles difficulty doesn´t change on hard mode, only the fighting. So on that aspect, this is as harder as it gets. :indiff:

look no further than Resident Evil 4 for your action gaming needs then.

the camera is controllable and essential to gameplay, there's more exploration and secrets, and the game is a healthy 20 hours, then you unlock 2 great minigames that'll waste more of your time than the single player does.

I'm on my 5th play through. not even bored yet.
