ive got gold in the bike, boat and plane tests yet i cant get all gold on the car one. its a lot harder, ive got like 99% on the 90 degree one. the 2 wheel one is also difficult.

For those of you that want to know what happens when you get gold read on the colour is white :)

Bike Tests Gold = NRG-500, Silver = FCR-900, Bronze = Freeway
Boat Tests Gold = Jetmax, Silver = Squallo, Bronze = Marquis
Airplane Tests Gold = Hunter, Silver = Stuntplane, Bronze = Rustler
Car Tests Gold = Hotknife, Silver = Bullet, Bronze = Super GT
 
For the Car one - Bronze (all passed) is the Super GT...

Not sure on others as haven't got into LV yet!!

You get the Turismo when you get all golds in the Driving school.Pretty useless if you ask me.You can find lots of them driving in Las Venturas at night and i mean lots.
 
i got the hotknife for all golds.. bullet for all silver.. super gt for bronze..
oh and for the motorcycle one.. i got a damn 900 instead of my nrg500 for all golds! i was pissed!

Haven't gotten all golds yet but i thought i read somwhere that you get the Turismo when you get all golds.Guess that's wrong.The Hotknife looks cool.Is it fast?
 
are there notices that pop up to notify you when the licenses are available to work at ? Or do you just have to know where to go ? ( I have played only a dozen or so missions, spend most time so far just messing around ! )

I never got notice about the bike or boat schools. They just turned up on my map after a while (as red S icon). I got a call about the car school and you have to do flight school to continue in the game at one point.

Sometimes I get an FCR900 at the bike school, but most of the time it's an NRG500. Drive a few hundred yards away and come back and see if you can get the NRG500.

The FCR900 is a great bike, I think it has a higher top speed than the NRG500. I certainly wouldn't be pissed if I got either bike.
 
Yay i finaly got gold on the car one, :D here is the list now

Can you list some tips for each test to help people get gold...

Ones I'm struggling on and have no real hope of getting are the barrel roll & 2 wheel ones... the other ones I know I can get (just a case of getting better times/clean runs) and the pop & recover is luck as to which tyre it bursts... if it bursts a left tyre it sends you instantly into the cones!!

Can't help you on the 2 wheel....

but the barrel roll is easy--switch your view to first person--makes it much easier (same for loop the loop) as you can tell your position in the roll alot easier.

I've only got all golds in flight school-- I wonder why?? :)
 
The only Golds I don't have in the Driving School is the one where you do 5 laps, and the one where you race to the other end of San Fierro and back. Haven't re-attempted them.

Other than that, I found the others a breeze. I also helped another person Gold some of theirs. ;)
 
It won't let me do the test I went in to the driving school.The only thing that happend is I met this chick.No test nothing.could it be my driving level meter was too full? :)

No, you need to pass driving test to unlock certain missions.

At one point in the game, you get a phone call to let you know that you can go to driving school. I don't know if you can access it before then, but that might be the problem. Did you receive a phone call about it and do you have a red S marking it on your map?

Also, there's a red mission marker in front of a TV inside the driving school. Walking into it will initiate the driving tests. Have you walked into a mission marker inside the driving school?

well for the 2 wheel test, hit the ramp flat out, and when you see sparks flying off the side of the car turn right a little, then when the car starts to lower turn left ( to keep it up straight) now you just have to stop in the middle of the red ring and facing dead straight ( on 2 or 4 wheels). I do all my plane ones in first person view, again its the finished postion or heading that must be dead on. As for the last one on the car go right then left and head up the tram lines to the end of the road then i think its right then left and then follow the curved road down the hill to the checkpoint then along the bottom all the way to the turn off to go right up to the driving school.

I have all Gold in the Driving School, except for the Burn and Lap one, where you do 5 laps. Any tips for that? I also only have Silver on the one where you race to the end of the city and back, but I can Gold that if I tried. I just can't be bothered at the moment.

I have all Golds in the Bike School (easy School). I only have a couple of Golds in the Pilot School (by far the hardest school). I have all but a couple of Golds in the Boat School (I can do that, too).

That Burn and Lap is annoying me though.
 
Change the camera angle on Burn and Laps to first person... nigh on impossible otherwise...

And just do it as quickly as possible...

Anyone know the target time for that?

36 i belive, i got like 36.1 or somthing of the sort, just cut the corner as much as possible and get on the power as soon as possible.

I thought the driving school was the hardest, make sure you use first person for the plane school as its much easier, though when landing switch back to 3rd person.

I'm not even going to try to Gold Pilot School fully, I have a few golds there. I've Golded Bike and Boat School. I have all Golds in Driving School, except "Burn and Lap". I just can't gold it. 90% is my best score. I can't go better than 37.8 secs.

I found the car school to be the hardest. I have all gold in all the other schools, except for the car ones. Bike school, I agree with you there. I got all gold on that without trying too hard.

First school I got all golds at was pilot school.

If you ask me, the burning lap test at driving school is all about cutting the corner as close as possible and when you release the e-brake. I got all gold on that one just by experimenting on the timing with the e-brake.
 
Yeah I've been experimenting with it too. Just not working for me.

Pilot School is harder than the others to me. I find the other tests easy. The Driving School has been really easy up until this "Burn and Lap". The Boat and Bike Schools were absolutely a breeze. Pilot School, is a bit of a challenge.
 
I only have all golds in pilot school. If you ask me that one's the easiest. The reward is also nice. I havn't tried improving boat school yet. I can't seem to get "Burn and Lap" and "City Slicking" for driving school. I also have all golds in bike school except the "jump and stoppie" one.
 
The only ones that posed a bit of difficulty for me was

P.I.T i had 100% about 8 times yet i had like 2 - 5% on damage :( took about 15min
the 2 wheel one took about 10 min
the 90 degree took about 10 min
and the burn lap took about 10min
city slicker i got on 3rd go or somthing like that

circle and land took me a good 15min
and the parachute took me about 15min (takes ages to complete)

other than that no problems, none were that hard really just needed to know what and how to do them.
 
I found "City Slicking" easy, it was only damaging the car that posed difficulty. "Burn and Lap" is the only one that's hard for me. I done all of the other Driving School tests within probably the first 5 goes for all of them. Bike School I done in no time. The only one I couldn't Gold straight away in Boat School was "Basic Seamanship", but it didn't prove much difficulty to me. The Pilot School I haven't really attempted much, but all I need to do is "Circle Airstrip and Land", and then I could probably have the confidence to Gold it all. I'll try one day, but I just need to get "Burn and Lap" done.
 
Not sure if it will help you with Burn and Lap Jimmy, but I found that braking in to the turns then tapping the handbrake to turn the car around allowed me to be more agressive in that test. As mentioned before: using the incar view is the key to this test, the other cameras just can't keep up with the car.
 
I used the First Person view and I ended up with my best result as 40, when I thought I was going well. I'm much better with the 3rd Person view. I'll try that braking thing, though.

I'm interested in what everyone else has done (if they've Golded the test), so any input from anyone is much appreciated.
