Now that we have mid-race saves for the Endurance races, I'm thinking of tackling them with Kaz's Schulze Motor Sports GT-R - which of the Endurance races would make for a fun, competitive for this car with stock settings?

And is there somewhere I can find out the type of tires used for these races?

4 Hours of Nurburgring. Probably 24 Hours of Nurburgring too. :) It's what the car was built for in the first place, Nurburgring and endurance.

If it doesn't have tyre restrictions, which is a good indicator on what the AI use, then jump on the track for 1 minute, exit, view replay and observe what tires they used. Or get info from someone who already knows. :)

I am too looking for some endurance races to use this car in!

It just seems one of the better cars that really does need to be used!

I'm think all of them except 24hr enduances :(

You should be able to tackle any of them except the Indy 500, Le Mans 24, and Nurburgring 24. All races have no restriction on tire chose. Enjoy

He could go for Nurburgring. He wouldn't win, but there are cars in it that match the Schulze GT-R.

Suzuka would be tuff in stock form also. Just gave it a sample, SS are not the way to go and the gearing is a little off as well.

Thanks for all the suggestions.

If GT5 had implemented class-based racing for the 24H races where there was some type or reward or recognition for being first in my class, then I wouldn't mind racing along LMPs :)

I think I'll start with one of the shorter races first (4H Nurb or 1000km Suzuka) and go from there.

I was going to use it for the Tsukuba 9hr but it was too fast and I didnt want to de-tune it too much. I'm hopeful of it being useful for something though :D

The GT-Rs in the Suzka 1000km will most likely out corner you. But when it comes to speed... I have no idea.

I'm open to using better tires to even things out a little bit... maybe even do a slight engine upgrade (I'd buy a 2nd car in that case as I'd like to keep one in stock form). What's most important in the end is the fun factor. Yes, I want it to be a bit challenging, but I don't want to feel like I need to run near-perfect laps just to stay competitive (besides, I'm not that good!).

do the tsukuba 9 hour endurance. :P

I just finished the 4 hour 'ring. Race with it stock on sport softs.

An incredible drive :)

Finished.....win?

I'm currently racing the 'Ring 4hr endurance as well with the car completely stock and the competition isn't much of a challenge. I was in first before the end of the GP circuit (on the first lap) and the only time the A.I. starts to close the gap is on the final straight. Still, the car is incredibly fun to drive and I'm really enjoying myself.

I won it by 6 seconds over that pesky Honda s2000 turbo.

I find, ironically enough the car is tuned very well for that track.

I think the A.I uses racing hards and I wanted a challenge. I got one :)

Edit: I saved the race once at 3 hours went and had some lunch, then came back and finished. Thanks PD for allowing me to "de" hardcore the event.

Nice tight race.

I was looking to use Kaz's car for a Nurburgring race as well. Seems to me like it will work fairly well.

In stock form I doubt it's going to beat the LMP's in Nurb 24 hours. Even fully maxed out it's not at that level, too heavy.

It should be competitive in the 4 hour ring endurance.

If you want to know tire choices, just go to the corresponding B-Spec race and see what the restrictions are.

If you tune the Schulze to match Super GT performance for Suzuka 1000, it will be first. Just. And it eats tyres.

There was a guy who posted his 24 hour Nurb, a long time back.

If I remember correctly, he used the Nissan GT-R SpecV '09. And won by 2 laps.
Let me see if I can find the thread.

Hmm..looking forward to 4 hrs. of Nurburgring in this car :)

Possibly, but a Spec V can be lightened to 1362 kg. The Shulze is 1505 kg and can't be lightened. That would probably make a big difference in fuel/tire wear = more pit stops.

Last night i completed the 4-hr Nur Endurance race in my 860 hp GT-R N24, running on racing softs (shoulda bought r-hard for this). 28 laps total, pitting every 3rd lap.

Really fun to drive in cockpit view with no map and no race info:)

What margin did you get to the second place, assuming you claimed the gold?

Yeah, its about 200 kg lighter, but the GT-R N24 is racing modified, so I would think it would do well around the 'Ring.

But oh well...

problematico

I tried the same last night with the Shulze N24 GT-R bone stock. Got about 35 minutes in and made a massive mistake, lost tons of time. Decided the stock sport softs were wearing to quickly, particularly the fronts. I'm planning on making a more serious run at it tonight with race hards and slightly shorter gearing. The S2000 GT1 Turbo would easily burn me down the main straight, I don't seem to reach full revs in clean air.

I just made a quick test with the GT-R N24 on the 24 hour 'Ring.

DS3, automatic gearbox.
Fully upgraded, 832 HP, 1505 Kg, 668 PP, racing softs, front and rear downforce on max.
Transmission set to 340 KM/h...

Everything else just as I bought it.

I ran a 8 minute, 34 second lap with racing softs in rain.
I was leading after 1 lap with 1 minute, 52 seconds on the Peugeot 905 and the Audi R10 Race car.

Something tells me this car can win the 24 hour Nürburgring. 👍

:D

Sorry I forgot to mention, I won by 1 lap, but thats only because i sat near the finish line for the last 15 minutes. otherwise would have won easily by 2 or maybe 3 laps.

I decided to run sport soft on my 2nd pit stop, but no luck. I was getting the same 3 clean laps out of them before i had to pit again, so i stuck with racing softs. BTW, my 4th lap was horrible because my tires wore off mid lap and i had to finish the lap spinning out every 5 seconds lol, i dont remember but it took me like 14-16 minutes to lap and get to the pit stop:yuck:

I'm running the Nurburgring 4 hours with this car totally stock against the first AI field after loading the game.

I'm pitting every four laps and after eight laps I have a minute plus advantage less the pitstop to take on 65 litres of fuel.

It is looking like an easy win at the moment.

I'm driving carefully, not touching curbs and not making contact with the AI. If I lose it and crash, I quit and call it a loss. (My endurance rule)

It's getting late so I've saved and will finish it tomorrow.

Is it just me or is it a little redundant to try this new car but max out the tuning? Half of this thread seems to be about what it can do if you throw every modification you can at it. To me, it's no longer really the same car and you might as well run an LMP stock. The shorter enduros seem to make far more sense though as it looks like it can be a contender in stock (tyre choice being a big factor though)

Edit: For me, Tired Tyres ^ has the right idea
