Was just looking over the updates to come in the latests firmware release for the PS3, the 2.50. There is still no date, other than soon.


In-game Screenshots - this tool will allow everyone to capture, share and in other words, immortalize their favorite gameplay moments. This will be supported on a game by game basis. Please check back to find out which games will support this feature.

To me this again sounds like PD will make use of generic features of the PS3, just like we must assume they plan to use Home for their online lobby system.

I hope you are wrong. I must admit that the trophy feature should have been supported since it is would be so obvious with the way GT5P is build up. But still, we must remember that PD and Sony works very close together, so it would make perfect sense for PD to just use the generic features of the PS3 other than develop their own photo-mode or whatever. But, lets see :D
 
I very much doubt PD will implement it, I sure hope they do but It's doubtful (IMO).
 
It would very easy to take a screenshot of the race results that way.
So hopefully it will be implemented in GT5P ones it's available.
 
Yeah when Sony announced this in game screenshot feature I though it was an Actual Hardware Update meaning you could take a screenshot of anything in game and such. But turns out game developers must need to implement it which is a let down IMO :( I dout PD do implement it into Prologue but heres for hoping! Looking forward to the 2.50 Updates anyways ;)
 
Yeah Screen shots would be a nice addition to Prologue, at least until GT5 and Photo-mode are available. I'm not overly concerned thoug if it's added- cool, if it''s not- Ohh well. If it where to be tricky to implement then that would be taking up focus from other more important aspect's of Prologue and GT5. GO PD!!:D:tup:

Hmm it would be great to SS some interesting moments and share them on a lobby and maybe see peoples comments on your SSs... Id love to see such thing.

Hmm, since GT5P is not a full game, I really don't know we are going to have this feature :(
But PD is like SUB division of SONY, so we might have it in first patch.


I read a bit of the link.. It says the patch will be supported for new officail blutooth headset. So SOCOM is coming out either today or tomorow. So we might get patch today or tomorrow!!

There is no trophies in Prologue, there is no custom soundtrack and there will be no screen grabs :(
Wish i am wrong but......its PD and this is just a Prologue.
 
IMO, PD will never implement it until they are forced to by Sony. The "trophy system" has been in place in GT games since the first one and is probably the simplest game they could be able to display our trophies.

They continually do whatever they choose regardless of fan backlash.

Anger? No, it's disappointment after disappointment from the developer's failure to utilize basic tools found throughout the industry and genre.

FLoW can do screenshots randomly. This was a game add-on months ago.

I agree. But, I've learned to "Hope for the best, but expect the worst." It helps to recover from life's littlebig disappointments when something, for all intensive purposes, is a given.

I could envision a button (L3) being assigned as "Screenshot" for taking screenshots on the fly.

I agree with you there,
besides if they do implement it, think how much more happier you would be if you expected them NOT to implement it :)
 
If/when they do give us Photo Mode/Screenshots, my PC's screensaver will be happy as a clam and there will be some amazing wallpapers floating around :)
 
My ps3 version is 2.43 I think...I will need to check what the latest is at the moment. Screenshot feature would be sweet for gt5p. As the guy above mentioned, amazing wallpapers for the pc and the ps3.
 
I'm guessing the update will go live possibly tonight, after the network comes back up. It's going down for a few hours of maintenance.
 
Anyone tried it? I am downloading the update now.
 
Yeah I have downloaded it, but can't find a option for screenshots anywhere.

I seriously fail to see why a game developer would need to implement anything to be able to take screenshots. Any screenshot utility on PC just takes a snapshot off the frame buffer through the OS, regardless of the application (or applications) that is running.
 
I just manage to do downloading and restart my PS3. Anyone notice is there changes in GT5P. Cant see nothing new.
 
I came home about five minutes ago and wondered why I was auto logged on. I log in and no...I havn't logged in, I have a software update to do :/

It is taking a bit of time...11% right now, started a few mins ago.

There is so much more to taking the perfect screenshot. I don't know if you tried WipEout HD. In here you can pause the game and then move the camera freely. You can zoom, focus, adjust light and many other things. This should be the things we should see in GT5 or maybe even GT5P.

already downloaded the the 2.50 update but I don't see how the screenshot function could work in GT5P :(
