We all now that gt3 is the best sim for racing in the world but does anyone now any others.
A few good ones are-
Auto Modelista
Tokyo Xtreme Racer
and all the codemasters race driver series

I have to disagree with you on Codemaster race driver. I bought that game for the V8 Supercars and the only way I was impresed was the sound. The car physics is **** along with the difficulty and it doesnt have the whole V8 supercar round:tdown:
NFSHP2 is good. Easy and fun to drift a huge, powerful car like a CL Merc or XKR Jag round public roads

Toca Race Driver is another good sim, IT has damage and a lot of nice cars. But on the whole GT3 always beats the rest, hands down

GT Concept
Auto Modelista
Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero
NFS: Hot Pursuit 2
Test Drive
Pro Race Driver
Downforce (UN-Real cars, but drives like real ones)

They should make a game featuring only McLaren Cars. :D

Sorry to burst your bubble but just as gt3 ISNT the worlds best sim for racing, Auto Modellista and Tokyo Extreme Racer are definately not even race sims. Those are what you call arcade games.

As for GT# not being the wrolds best, I like to have fun overtaking in the racing games I play. GT3 features an AI dumber than my dog, no damage, trying to crash into you all over the place. Im sorry mate, but this isnt realistic.

I use GT3 for time trials only. For this it is pretty fun and realistic, but for the lack of AI and damage I will not refer it as the worlds best race sim.
sorry.

AdvanR you are misinformed greatly.

GT3 IS the greatest video game sim.

While Project Gotham Racing and rallisport challenge have been good they have not out done GT3.

an arcade game is like Crusin World, not TXR and Modelista as you can tune and configure your car unlike Crusin World.

Also even if GT3 has bad AI, guess what? mostly everything else about the game has a realistic sense to it. While other racing games have much better AI, the other aspects of those games are not as realistic as GT3.

how can i be misinformed if it is my own opinion? i didnt here that gt3 didnt happen to be the best racer by word of mouth, I have figured that out by playing it.

thats your opinion. my head isnt in my ass however, so I have a different opinion.

Ai makes a racing game. gt3 ai is horrible, that means I only play the game occasionally to do time trials, because if im racing against the dirt dumb ai, its boring.

I consider txr and modelista arcade racers also, maybe that is only my opinion. I dont think an arcade racer actually has to have an arcade version to be arcadey. If a racer isnt hardcore with details, or the physics arent realistic, I consider it arcadey.

best race sim? probably gp4. it has the most advanced ai I have seen in any game and the physics are spot on for todays f1 cars. the graphics, especially the trackside details are awesome. this is on pc however, so maybe gt3 is the best sim on consoles, Im not sure. pc has some much better sims imo.

EDIT: Two others come to mind. grand prix legends and f355 challenge. I have yet to buy both, but have played the demo of one, and the arcade version of the other. I should say f355 challenge in the arcades is definately the best sim of racing a car on the planet. well..... maybe it cant compare to those purpose built simulation machines that are completely built into cockpits, but it is definately the most realistic "game".

my head ain't in my ass either, however how come most game mags who have rated GT3 and all other racing games put GT3 on top? other factors also play in to making the best racing sim.

magazines are part of "the beast". they have different agendas. you DO know they are there to make money. not provide the best game information. i find printed magazines to be mostly BS. they always fall for, or create the hype.

goto www.gamecritics.com for awesome, honest reviews. I love that place.

Also, because a magazine says it, doesnt make it my opinion. I dont have to agree with them because they are MAGAZINES you know.

I should add that of console race sims, gt3 is probably on top. It is on the pc that there are better games. Actually, of GT type games (has a lot of real cars, tuning, etc.), gt3 is definately on top with its physics alone. But I find better games to be series specific. Like wrc or f1. These are very good because they have ace ai, good physics, damage, and more.

magazines like egm dont review pc games so that would explain gt3 soming on top.

What about GTPlanet? Don't we give great reviews? If you want me to review a game, just PM me...I'll get back to you.

I must agree with you on the part about F355 challenge being the best racing sim out there, The only reason I say this is that I am talking about the arcade version, not the console version, and it is one of the only arcade games that I know that have an actual clutch, and stick for racing, and the car handles exactly like a real car. The only thing the arcade version lacks is vehicle damage. But I must say that it is the most realistic racing game I have ever played. Another good racing sim is Race Drivin, I am once again talking about the arcade version, because for a game that was done so long ago, the car you drive behaves for the most part like a real car, and it also had a clucth, and a stick. For consoles though, I believe that GT3 is the best racing sim out there. I have not found one that has better car physics, and I do believe that the AI in the game very good.

You must have never played a racing game that had GREAT AI. It makes such a difference. But physics should come first I guess. The next GT better improve greatly.
