Our dearly beloved, we have gathered here to bid farewell to Daniel James Graham, Danny, ultrabeat, Danachronism, or any other alias, for he is leaving tomorrow for Chester University. :(

Does this place have internet at all, anywhere on campus? I think he explained it to me once, but I was hardly listening.

Bye Danny, I guess...

Aww man. What's the point of the internet without Danny? :(

Have fun learning, Danny.

Thanks Metar, hehe.

There's some computers on campus, but I don't know how often I'll get access to them, and if they're filtered or not. Probably for the best if I stay away from the internet for a little while anyway. :)

Been getting into trouble, have we? ;)

We'll miss ya Danny *blows kisses*

I echo what the others say, have a good time and you will be sorely missed both on the forums and off them.

I feel we should organise a GTP meet in Dannys honour when he has some time off!:p

GTP was blocked at my High School and College. :(

GTP is blocked at my college. 'Gaming' is the reason.

Edit: Goodbye Darny, I shall miss you like a brother I never had.
I wish you all the best and good luck 👍

Apparently your coming to Daventry to see Alex. If you give me a call 👍

Alas poor Danny. I knew him well.

Chester = Stevisiov if I recall correctly. Go visit him for 'net access.

A college filters internet access? Where are you going to school? Obviously, many large networks control network traffic (throughput or activity on specific ports), but it seems very unusual that they would actually prevent users from accessing domains. I have never heard of that before.

Oi! You're not getting away that easily! I'll shout loudly across from Leeds at you if I have to.

Well my college lets me on Youtube, as im doing a movie course.

but me being me thought hey I have a free 10 minuets type in gtplanet.net and the web filtering comes up with the reason, 'Games'. Then when I eventually got onto the forum page I couldn't log in.

Good Luck Danny!

Yeah, it doesn't make sense. The sites blocked at my schools were "adult" sites, but everything else was open. You never know where you're going to find an answer was the logic I suppose. Actually, I'm not even sure my community college blocked anything at all. I never tried, lol.

My university doesn't... but there's a catch. We only get 200MB free usage per semester, after that it's 2c/MB :(

Bye Danny! Don't work too hard, we want you back in one piece. :p

See ya Danny, never knew you much but I saw you around alot.

In Queensland, Australia, all government schools have internet restrictions. When your researching it blocks almost every 5th site. It blocks anything with the word "Game" in the URL. Try to research ancient greek weaponry for your assignment and it blocks it on google. "Weaponry" is counted in the filter. Strangely, one of the few sites it doesnt block is GTplanet.

Without Internet access there's going to be a lot of built up... tension. :dopey: Best try and find some girls, fast.

What?! That's crazy and a rip-off! But you already knew that.

Here most websites are blocked, sometimes even Google is blocked which sucks.

Cya Danny, pretty sure you'll find a way to get to GTP somehow.

You make it sound as though Chester is still living in the Roman times when it was the Fortress Deva!

True, the city wall is still intact, but the reason Danny won't be coming here anymore probably has little to do with Chester's evolution as a technology center and more to do with the fact that he's going to spending his time exploring as many of the vast number of pubs within the confines of the city walls as possible!!!

Strongly recommend the 2 Samuel Smith's Pubs, Ye Olde Boot Inn, up on the rows, and The Falcon, down by the River Dee as possibly the cheapest and yet best beer in the city. 👍

Also the King Prawn Ceylon at the Step In India by the Grosvenor Roundabout is to die for. Almost literally!

I'm looking forward to a visit to Chester when I'm back over in Blighty at Christmas, maybe I'll see you there! 👍
