That thing alone is enough to convince me I don't need this game.

Looks like Forza is a very promising racing-sim, but I think (50/50) it won't be as deep as GT for now. It has a mix of Juiced, NFS: Underground, and SRS.

Very interesting.

The reason I'll buy an X Box is:
1. DOA Beach Vollyball :D
2. Project Gotham 2
3. TOCA/DTM Pro Race Driver 2
4. Rally Sport Challenge 2

*Note that all of these are X Box exclusive titles. Too bad.

PS2 all the way!

I'm not that bothered what an individual car looks like. If there are enough cars in the game, don't use it. And if there are some ugly body kit upgrades, then don't upgrade the body kit. Past GT games had some shocking car body colour combinations.

As long as the game is of a graphically high standard, and makes the "driving" of the cars feel good, I don't care what machine it is on.

If there is a driving game on PS2 and XBox, I always get the XBox version, for the slight graphical improvement, but mainly for the XBox controller. The trigger buttons are a better control for accelleration and brake than a PS2 pad.

The possible drifting option in GT4 would be a whole lot easier if the PS2 pad a had longer gas and brake buttons, for finer resolution, and therefore, finer control.

Better control of the PS2 buttons would benefit the whole game.

I don't get the whole "reflection" thing. You see reflections on cars in auto shows, not auto races.

Let's not turn cars into mirrors. Never mind that most people don't watch the outside of their car.

I like the shape of the PS-series controller better than the X Box's. The PS2's controller have those high quality texture, the button configurations are easy to reach, and it has the right size for kids and adults alike. While the XB's controller feels flimsy and cheap (but not as cheap as the Game Cube's), the only benefit of the XB's controller are those two trigger buttons. If Sony add those trigger buttons with a stiffer coil rate (for better throtte modulation while playing GT or any other racing games) than the XB version, but still retain the same classic Dual Shock design. Now that would be the best 'Stock' controller on the market. :)

"ugh I don't like outrun because it's unrealistic, DUH HYUK!"

Dev zero, your one of these people who can't accept the fact that other consoles, consoles you don't own, actually have good games too, because your too bloody stupid. Me? I love both my machines, I wouldn't part with either.

HALO SUX0RS!!! rofl

I guess you're the retarded one. I have all the games/consoles at my disposal that are available. And I don't give a damn about rankings because the people that make those aren't unbiased theirselves. I'm not just a Fanboy. I know PGR2 is just an arcade racer but why promote it with sentences like; This game features over more than (insert number) real life cars. They aren't real life. So you can stick PGR2 where the sun doesn't shine.

You have got to be kidding. Real life cars?

That simply means they have cars that exist in real life. If you want to take it as they need to exist exactly as they do in real life then I guess every game in existence fails. The cars in GT4 will be close, but perfect...... no. Even the prologue cars are a little slower in accleration than they should be.(apparently)

Even GTR apparently has some aspects of it that allow the cars to lap faster than they should.

PGR2 is an incredibly fun game. I admit I would rather the cars be more realistic, but it is still a ton of fun. It certainly isn't a simulator, but what it does do is allow people to have control with the devices they are given. Simulators with wheels and pedals are good, but I wouldn't even be thinking about GT4 if I didn't own a wheel. For me the Xbox controller is a little easier to use with the longer shoulder buttons, but even then it is a stretch.(no controller size pun intended)

As for Forza the topic of the thread. I think it looks awesome. I want to see a lot more footage obviously, but if all the concepts they mention in their release come to be then it should be awesome. Enzo vs Carrera GT at the ring in a sim game..... mmmmmmmmmm

I suppose GT4 may still provide that and that excites me too.

This game looks quite nice, its not bad at all but its edging too much to the NFS Underground side, GT4 will be much better imho.

btw:
PS2 has alot of exclusive games as well, MGS, Final Fantasy, GTA: SA, The Getaway etc etc the list goes on ofcourse:)

Who cares what games are exclusive to what machine.

The only time it makes a difference, is if the game you want is on a machine you haven't got.:(

Consoles and even PC's now are so cheap. If you want a couple of games on a different format, go and get it.

Just don't start the my console (insert as applicable) is better than your console(insert as applicable) bollox. If you've only got 1 console(nothing wrong with that, as long as your happy) don't start going on that this game is exclusive, or that game is exclusive, to try and justify your choice.
Live with it.

As for Forza Motorsport, it'd be interesting to know how long they've been working on it. We all know how long GT4's taking.

They've made up some snazzy names for their technology. Let's see how much they deliver. At the moment they're making all the usual promises.

I did a search for Forza Motortsport on Google, and saw that there is a website already using that title. That won't help with marketing.

Am I the only one that think the graphics aren't all that great? I'm trying desperately not to be biased but these look very inferior to GT4 imo.

The blurb sounds good, expecially the tuning options and this weird posh AI but I think it will still fall way short of the GT4 and maybe even the GT3 marks.

Given a few years I'm sure Microsoft will rival the GT series properly but for now its back to the GT4 watching for me...

:)

They are technically better (higher poly count, higher resolution ect), but the models don't look as accurate as GT4's.

I've just had a look at more pictures of Forza Motorsport at IGN.

http://media.xbox.ign.com/media/682/682857/imgs_1.html

Some of the pictures are looking very good to me, especially the GT cars.

The picture of the GT One, I think, doing a burn out looks paticularly good.

I think the posted picture of the heavily modded and garish car is the worst picture.

There's also a couple of new GT4 pictures(don't go into fit if they're posted somewhere else). One picture of a Renault 5 in an Italian Piazza looks stunning. Doesn't show the car moving, but it is a bit nice.;) :) :)

OMG how dare you post GT4 pics that are already posted. Only joking, I haven't seen some of thoes FMsport pics though.

Yes it is true. There is a press release on Sony's website which lists the 'Ring as a track that will be shown at E3.

Allow me to slide my $0.02 under the door.

I own an Xbox and I've yet to get rid of it. I know longer have PGR2 since I could not get online and it wasn't worth keeping for offline. It's not a pick up and play type of game like GTx.

Xbox is not free to play online. Last I checked a PC and aHub cost some 16 times the price of a NA. I pasted on trying to online with Halo seeing it would have costed me $75 for the need cables and hardweher to get online, not worth it for an overrated game.

About This new game. I sure hope the final game looks better as now it looks like a $20 PC game. Very promising and it has my attention.

a car list wont sell me on it. The physics will(Poor Sega GT2002)

Will it be better than GT4? I dont know or care since I'll probably own both :)

God I hate IGN and GameSpy and their intrusive advertising styles.

Forza Motorsport is indeed a name I've heard in use before, not relating to the game. Judging by the images I've seen, I'd say the polygon count would be higher, but the models still don't look right, and it doesn't matter how many triangles you have if the texture sitting on them isn't good. As for higher resolution, we're playing on a television set here...

As redhed17 said, they're making all the usual promises. We wait to see what they actually deliver. I've heard far too many PR reels about incredible realism, fantasic AI and so on.

As a side note, MGS is no longer a Sony exclusive, neither is Final Fantasy, nor are some of the Xbox titles listed.

I don't like what I see so far. But then, nothing on the X-Box floats my boat.

My son has a an X-Box, so I'll probably get the game for him. I have the PS2. Life is peaceful, and good.

I just think that Forza Motorsport will be a good racing game for Xbox. Xbox hasn't had a decent racer untill recent TOCA 2 (and I do not count PGR series into decent races, for me PGR is decent and disturbing arcader), do Forza will be a nice welcome.

Still, everything I've seen is really far away from GT. No good angles, no good perspective, everything looks plastic. Driving model could be surprise, and I guess we'll finally get a decent force feedback wheel for Xbox with Forza, but I'm sceptic about lots of things regarding gameplay nad so. What I know is that Microsoft come to an idea to make a Xbox GT, but that is not enough.

I just think that they will not come to the right concept for the game, no matter how much they will try and work. So, I propose them to hire some of us from this place, give us a decent sallaries, and maybe we'll be able to come up with the right concept fpr the game before the relase date, because - from what I have read, they are just trying to copycat GT and/or add some features that GT doesn't have. From my perspective, all tthe features that GT doesn't have is for some reasons. And Kaz and PD are very certain about that reasons. And yes, damage goes to that reasons.

And one more thing: they are not living for that game. PD is living for the GT series for last 10 years. Kazunori itself for last 15 years. I guess that makes the difference in all the ways.

Then again, hope I'm wrong, I'd like to have another decent racer, no matter of the platform. But, It will just not happen, no way...

They could do a lot worse than simply copy GT.

How many 10's of millions of sales has GT had? A copy on another platform(s) could do very good business.
