Got GT4, confused about "Original" parts

Does anybody know what the deal with the "original" parts are? I thought at first that it would just set your car back to the original settings, but that's not the case. For example the T5 turbo is the "Original turbo" which gives more power then T4, and in the description says it offers more torque all throughout the RPM range, not just the high end. The "original" suspension is fully adjustable like the racing suspension, but it boasts "stiffer settings which bring out the full potential of the car." From what I've seen, these parts are all just a touch cheaper than the racing line of parts, ie racing suspension and T4 turbos. Does anybody know what the deal is with that?

I know its early into the release, but what do you think of the game so far?? id really like too know
 
First thing I thought of when I actually started driving was "holy... this is hard..." I feel a lot more connected to the car, and it respondes to my input right away, and as a result I find myself flinging my car around crashing into everything just trying to correct mistakes :P It's getting easier now that I'm not driving like it's still GT3 :P First car I bought was a r34 vpsec ii nur, second one I got was the Amuse CarbonR... Honestly I regret taking the 100k from GT3 and not starting off from the bottom, the CarbonR was the one car I really really wanted to get... And I got it second :P

ive got prolouge and like you said found that the cars are more like an extension of yourself now? do you know what i mean? they have a real nice weight and feeling too them

i cant wait for gt4!!!!!!!!
 
Yeah, this thing saves allllll the time.
Another thing you guys might not know, you get to import license A and B from GT3.

About the car weight, yeah dude... that's exactly what it is, the cars feel like heavy things with tires, if you get my drift. It feels like a completely different game, I think you're gonna like it a lot.

Perhaps a translation error? this would explain the similiarity of usage for something that is the farthest from original, lol.
 
I think im going too delete my gt3 save i dont want a head start in the game, in the beginning, when you dont have much money is the best part of the game, the races are much more a challenging

Then I guess that guy earlier who said it could be parts created in PD's dream image could be true... "we came up with these original parts" or whatever, though that's a little goofy :P

About the importing, it tells you all about it when you're creating your profile and you can choose not to take the money. If you do decide you want it later, you can take it at any point in the game. That might be the cool thing to do.. get all your cars and everything, and then you can just take the 100k and blow it on something if you suddenly get the urge :P

Getting the licenses is something the game won't offer you, you have to go to your house and press start I think to open up the import dialog.

hehe.. I felt a little stupid taking the money, buying an awesome skyline, and then almost losing the first few races of sunday cup d8]

hey is the AI any diffrent? i mean is it a carbon copy of the ai seen in gt3?

They still seem like idiots to me. I really couldn't say if they're that much different, I'm doing a bunch of 1 a-spec point easy races vs silvias and r32's in my CarbonR, so I haven't battled with them too much :P But yeah, they'll crash into you and do whatever it takes to not deviate at all from the racing line :P

I quess you'll be testing out the nurb soon? it pains me too think about it, spare a thought for us europeans :indiff:

I'll go test it out right now.. Though I have to warn you, this will be the first drive I've ever taken on it in any game :P All I'll be able to tell you is my personal feelings about it :P Wish me luck.
 
You can switch a and b in the pit, I haven't done enough to open up enduro so I can't say if you can save during them or not, but I didn't see a place to save in a regular pit.

About the garages in LAN, I can't get in lan mode without another PS2 to connect to, so I can't speak on that. Now.. to the ring!
 
what... no garage cars in 2p? all scea must do is sit on their ass. i can't believe they didnt give us 2p garage cars. i would rather wait for the PAL release than get this version if it was an option for me.
 
They did put in 2p garages...


Oh, is the intro that badly edited video that was posted before, or is it different?

To those that have the game AND a PS2 network adapter:

Is it possible to use garage cars in LAN play? This is a VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY HUGE part of the game for me. Thanks!
