Got my slim ps2

I love it, I can see why many break it easily. Been playing gt3 on it, fun times.

Good stuff. No sign of a small hard drive bay though, right? Bummer that. They could have easily included a bay for a laptop sized hard drive.

It's more the size of a dvd case. Smaller than any laptop ive seen.

If you play if for several hours, does the system get hot? I remember a thread here about the heating problem of the slim PS2.

mine doesnt get hot and i left it on for like 6 hr.

Yeah, I left mine to eat dinner and forgot about it and it was on for about 5 hrs and there were no overheating problems.

mine gets very hot... even after an hour of playing it gets hot

I left my PStwo on for 4 straight days whil San Andreas was unpaused to tax it more, and it still ran fine. 24 hours of Nurburgring, here I come!

The system isnt going to get any hotter after 6 hours then it is for 4 days... The temp isnt going to keep raising and raising untill it blows..

actually the small PS2s don;'t have a fan so they could get hot if u do that too much.

I got one and I played WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw for 3 hours and it wasn't hot this morning.

I played GTA: San Andreas for a whole day with Blake there, and he can verify that nothing went wrong. I've never had it freeze, I've never had Disc Read Errors, or anything wrong with it. Of course, if you play for long periods of time extensively, it might create problems, but the rumours that it doesn't perform well because it doesn't have a fan aren't true. I think someone else explained why it performs just the same in another thread like this.

My brothers Slim PS2 has never had a problem. I don't know what you guys are worrying about. The PS2 does get hot but a laptop gets much hotter.

I just got my new slim ps2 on friday.I traded in my xbox, halo 2 collectors edition,kotor1 &2, and a few other cheap games and got a Slim PS2,GTA:San Andreas,Vice City,Madden 2005,and Mercenaries all of which were brand new.I used to have a ps2 but my bro sold it and i finally decided to trade in the xbox for it.

Got mine wensday of this last week
I had one from when they first launched back in 98-99 whenever that was, poor thing was gettin soooo sloooow!
I cant believe the new one loads so much faster than my old one...
Also I am happy to have the online capability now...
Oh and no problems as of yet...And it's so lil its kinda scary...lol

the slim ps2 is tite, my big ps2 had troubles reading ps2 cd's and some burned games dvd movies but the slim can read it all perfectly
everyone says the slim ps2 overheats/laser burns, (kind of got me worried) but i have had the slim ps2 for over 3months (about 2~3hrs a day) and its still fine, its been moded too (for about a month), and ran a 24hr gt4 race still going strong!

Just from reading all of the wonderful post about the possible heating problems, I guess I will have to be very careful if I plan to get a slim PS2 in the future.

My slim ps2 was in a some what confined spot.....with just a little more room then needed to open ..and it would freeze on tony hawk u2 and atv off road while online...but once i got it on its side with room on either side it was fine
