So, obviously the following people have NO IDEA of what they are doing...

Ok picture 3 wouldnt work at all on track, it would need such stiff suspension etc to not ruin its fenders/panels when its hitting the kerbstones on a track. The 2 other pictures on the other hand are way different, has nothing to do with the intention of this thread.

@JKcreativeworks

You are correct sir. Picture 3 would not work at all on a track. Not to mention this is their "SHOW CAR". They do not race their show car. Its put out on display and thats it. Their time attack car has a differnt setup on it.

so yes iLLESTwrx, those people know what they are doing, 2 of them are ready for racing and 1 of them is doing it for show purposes only. Maybe you should pay more attention instead of post pictures. D.A.

You proved what, that real race cars dont have retarded mounts of camber? I mean seriously, camber no doubt is needed to get the tire to lay flat when in the turn. The camber amount is relative to the adhesion of the tire. A street tire will lose grip before the car can roll over a 3+ degree camber tire and lay it flat.....

You can argue all you want with me, I know how to set up cars and win races. Not on video games either.

Hell I held track records racing RC's at many a track over the years. Granted my only 1:1 racing is drag racing. Lack of funds and time prevent me from doing any thing left right. I do intend to attempt some auto cross this summer in my Evo. As well I have a really good idea what it takes to set that car up with the particular tire I run.

Please explain what you proved? I feel your pics proved my point.

indeed, just like I removed my height adjustment from my E36's suspension to get it lower, there are no difference on how she drives.

Btw. your Z is looking total bad***! 👍

Lol thanks, it's one of my favorite cars to drive in the game! Here's another one.. Too bad I couldn't drop the front a little more though..

No, I quoted the correct person. The person I quoted stated that the "trendy" things kids are doing now come from people without any performance knowledge. I'm just showing that people that are paid to race in events such as time attacks have stanced/flush cars, and use them to enhance their performance on the track.

And just to keep this on topic I will post a few GT pics here shortly as soon as I get home from work.
That WRX is a street car painted up like a racecar.

Lol thats a RHD wunderbaum keyring hanging on its towhook. For the extra bit of hella jdm flushnez,

nah im joking but man those wheels look quite flat on the picture!

Might just be me though haha. :dopey:

Lol, yeah the pit stop ground ate it.. and that green thing.. I don't even know what the heck it is.. haha!

wow, i haven't seen this much close mindedness towards a different idea since bimmerforums. Who was i to think that people can tune their cars in ways that they enjoy? Especially when it's not tuned to be a track star. And the best part... it's a video game.

And so this post can be considered GT related, i just bought myself one of those 300Z's. They look so good, except on Eiger... damn that track.

Long live Rusty!!!!

Is this thread trying to be sarcastic??? (sarcasm):dunce:

Do you guys even know what that awfully negative camber does to the tires and most important, performance?

All the purple, orange, red and green wheels exclaim tackiness. But if that makes you guys happy.

Did you know that intent of this thread, obvious from the OP, was to try and recreate what some people like to do to their cars? I'm pretty confident saying that we all know that camber like this hinders any cars performance, it was just a look that everyone's going for. And thanks to Polyphony, it failed for the most part because they still haven't given us the ability to choose widths, diameters, and offsets.

And on a side note, what's the reason that there are exponentially fewer wheel choices? I remember in GT3 and GT4 there were literally HUNDREDS of choices. I was really disappointed with the selection of wheels in this game because that is one thing i always change when i play.

Its per car now. Some cars have different and/or more rim choices than others.

I know, I mean the number of choices overall. It's just a matter of whether or not your car can get them. I want to say there is only like 15 different wheel choices in the entire game, i don't know if that number is accurate at all, i'm just guessing.

Did you know that an awfully amount of negative camber doesn't do anything to affect normal tire wear? A car with -.3* stock camber will wear tires just as fast as a car with -6*. You know what toe does to tires? It accelerates tire wear, camber DOES NOT. It only focuses it on one area, usually the inside. Normal people driving everyday probably wear through tires faster with a bad alignment or over/under inflated tires than someone with a proper alignment with aggressive camber setup.

wow, you are obviously retarded. .3° of negative camber wont accelerate the wear of your tire but it will wear it unevenly. With that said if you were to do 6.0° of negative camber your tire would wear just as bad as if you had 1.5° of toe out. There would be no insides to your tire.

No, negative camber doesn't accelerate the wear of your tires like toe out but it does still wear them unevenly and quicker than stock camber causing a loss in performance AND treadlife of the tire. This is why most street cars do not come stock with more that 2.5° of negative camber.

Use your head to think, not your ass.

To think we have to drive on the public roads with some of these people!!!!

Loading a tire with weight on a smaller contact patch will indeed put more weight in that area and wear faster then a proper camber set up.

My best example of this would snow shoes when you spread the weight out the snow can hold cause at any given point the load is less then with out snow shoes. Where as you would just sink in with out the snow shoes cause you reduced toy surface area or load area.

Shameful argument, for this is common sense really.

Need more wheels for sure.

Dont want anything wider then what fits proper. I think PD gave use that already.

Honestly these cars with such wide rims that have terrible - camber to the car can be lowered not sit on the tire with the wheel well, remind me of an obese women wearing something she shouldn't and then tucking her rolls in here and there. Its not a good look, its not attractive. Its grotesque.

We car guys are not trying pass judgment on others taste, but we are not going to stand by and watch something completely and utterly useless that has adverse effects on cars and possible injury.

I mean serious in the 80's when you see -camber like that on a Japanese car you knew they broke something in the suspension. NOW ITS THE COOL THING TO DO TO MAKE YOUR CAR LOOK BROKEN?

Whats next for our youth? Seriously baffles me.

I've been driving slammed cars for 7 years now and never had a problem. I like people like you, everytime I drive my car someone is looking at me and going nuts when the hear my cars scraping the asphalt. It puts a smile to my face.

Never had an accident by the way. Driving a slammed car makes you drive safe. (low and slow FTW!!) Its my car and I can do with it what I want and this is the stance thread and if you don't like it then don't look. And don't bring this crap about injuries when you don't know what you are talking about.

(Sorry for my bad english...)

Edit: your sig says that you street race so that should be the end of your argument.........

Personally, i don't think it's unattractive or grotesque. I would take a slammed BMW over one at a stock height because i think it looks way better.

This second paragraph really bothers me. "WE car guys"? Oh i see, all the guys in the stance scene (many of whom i'm friends with) aren't car guys? These guys are the most enthusiastic, open minded car nuts i've ever seen. They love everything from Miatas to Big Trucks to full blown race cars. if you're so right, then they just like putting wheels that are too wide on cars and calling it a day i guess.
These guys know cars through and through. They aren't simpletons buying wheels and coilovers, they're true enthusiasts and fabricators.

You make it sound like they're a bunch of rebels hell bent on "ruining" cars and hurting people. And the injury part is BS, look at the post above me for more evidence that it's safe.

And don't try to pin this all on the youth. There are guys out there much older than me that have been doing it for a very long time, it's always been around but now it's just gaining more popularity.
