Can anyone explain what stance actually means?

No, and no one ever will.

The problem is that people think a car HAS to have something (stretched tires, negative camber, tucked tires/wheels, whatever), and won't take any other opinions.

When you look at a car and you "feel" like it sits nice, then it has stance. It's as simple as that. No one is wrong if they think a car has stance.

Even my RC truck sits real pretty... with broken a-arms to boot!

They're Rota P4/5s I think. But I don't think they compliment the car

Indeed P45r's 18x9.5, to bad you dont like the way they fit the car. You are actually the only person to say that. All others say they think the wheels are perfect for the car. . IDK, I bought it cause I needed a fast family car and these came on it.

However, I lucked into a set of softer compound tires for autcross/drag. My boys call them Sport Softs...hahaha Anyway I need another set of 18" rims. Thinking going cheap route for the purpose, as in getting a factory rim that works off any car.

Anyway, got a chance to do some other rims, what would you suggest.

Post what you like, not what you think I would like or anyone. ....errrr ok what you like and something you like at a reasonable price. . being race tires, cheaper better.

You might post the perfect rim!!! 👍

A lot of quality wheels aren't necessarily cheap. But I'm just not fond of Rotas. If you like them and you think their great for thier purpose, great, you like them and it's you're car. But I just wouldn't do it and I think it's kind of tacky on an Evo, being expensive and cheaping out on a quality set of wheels.

Like the top ones. Make them black or gunmetal for me. Kinda subtle, hell this car is a lil flashy, but the performance and utility is what I was after.

I dont do cosmetic stuff. I am a hp freak. Only concentrate of what makes it fast. So on that, what rims are those?

Who's? o_O

The wheels on my Passat are the stock wheels that came with the car in 2000, just painted.

suzq044, while I am digging your car, I was referencing the Evo convo we was having earlier.

Sorry about the confusion.

Yeah that looks dumb.....

For stock (but lowered -39mm) I think it's pretty great. I just really wish this thing was premium :(

since the evo topic came up! I don't consider my rig to have that "stance" thing going, but maximum width to minimum fender clearance on a proper set of coilovers sure works wonders on the track! Kicked out front fender mod and severely massaged rear fenders (Volk Te37 18x9.5 +22 (12mm spacers up front) with 265 advan ad08's) crappy phone pic....

Could someone...ANYONE...tell me what the point of this is? Suspension NEEDS travel to work. No travel, no handling. Never mind ride comfort, that's shot. I lowered my old 2000 Prelude about 1.5" and it looked (and handled) great. Any more would have wrecked the dynamics of the car.

And the camber thing, well, that's just silly. Yes, I said SILLY.

Dynamics don't matter much when 99% of the time round here you're travelling at no more than 30mph due to traffic. You might as well look good while doing so :D
