Seems like we had good racing in both lobbies last night, well done everyone. Results from race 5 are in and posted below. The databook in post 2 will be updated later today.
And in case you all didnt know, Death Wish Coffee is THE official coffee of the ARL.

Something else I have been keeping track of but may have not shared is the overall finish of each race. You may or may not have known this (or don't care for another worthless stat) but I find it kind of nice to know where I finished overall for the night against everyone else, sans division and lobby.

Every time I start to relax in a race I remind myself that there’s another lobby. So yes, I care.

Yeah, I'm always interested in overall finishes.

Ugh I care if I would have short shifted on my second stint the way I did my first I would have beat jw but I lost at least 6 seconds on the last 3 laps because I had to gain a lap of fuel back

Quite honestly I see a lot of bronze drivers braking way too late for corners. This kills your speed, and tires as you are having to work extra hard to get the car turned back into the Racing line. I recommend braking way early and arcing the car into the corner and late apexing and getting the car pointed lower for exit. This will save your tires tremendously as well as start decreasing your lap times.

@Neutty , what is considered early?? I brake so freaking earlier sometimes, I have to hit the gas to get to the corner!?! That's the question I have been wanting to ask you guys, the faster drivers, how early is too early? How much brake? I've been told to "ATTACK", the turns because I lose too much speed. Any pointers would be great....from anyone.

If you are needing to get on the throttle before turn in. Move your brake point a little at a time to where the timing is just right. Certain turns require different braking “techniques”.

You should see my earlier races during my debut back in Season 4. I used to brake extremely early, sometimes coasting into the zone when uncertain.

Been there, still doing that!!! Lol!
Try braking a little later, gradually releasing the pressure as you start to turn in. Overall it takes a bit of practice to improve your laptimes even by a tenth.

I remembered when I did my first ARL Gr.3 race I struggled badly, as I used to rely on turn markers and cones to reference. Subsequently, I took the challenge and went on to improve my techniques.

More than anything, would just like to be competitive with you guys and not be in last place by like 5 mins or more! I just keep plugging away and hopefully it will come to me? Either way, have a great time racing in this league.

do the circuit experience for each track. It will help tremendously with braking points and driving lines.

This. And do it more than once. Just because you got the metals doesn't mean it can't help anymore. Especially when your friends post quicker times after you beat their times.
