Last night i was running mid 2:21s in the mock race. I backed out watched the circuit experience videos for yamigiwa and took some mental notes. Did 5 or 6 practice laps by myself and was running consistent mid to low 2:19s

More than anything, would just like to be competitive with you guys and not be in last place by like 5 mins or more! I just keep plugging away and hopefully it will come to me? Either way, have a great time racing in this league.

There are some very talented people in ARL and all of them will give you some sound advice.
Let's look at the positive side of your post. You have nowhere else to go but up from here. Improvement is on your side. So here is my advice to you.

Consistency, Consistency, Consistency is the key to getting a good finish. Even if it means you are racing at a slower pace to achieve that goal. You are almost 100% guaranteed to finish ahead of everyone else who doesn't follow this advice or is an impatient driver. You will lose more time playing in the grass, dirt, sand and repairing damage throughout a race rather than running at a pace that allows you to remain consistent.
Every chance you get follow behind someone without the thought of passing them going through you mind. You will learn more from following someone better than you over anything I could say to you. You will also find your laps becoming more consistent when taking this approach.

With consistency comes speed but speed alone is meaningless if it's not consistent.

Consistency is key to any form of sport. Speed and power comes after. Mainly because once you have the muscle memory down both physically and mentally then the next progressive step is to start flexing those muscles like the Hulkster.(ok brother!)

Also, don't try to compare yourself to others. We all learn differently and have many different backgrounds or ways we got into racing/gaming. I have been playing racing games since Bill Elliot's Nascar Racing on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Picking up a racing game and getting decently quick at it isn't much of a hardship to me because of the amount of time I have spent doing them. That was the good thing about being a kid growing up in the late 80's and early 90s lol. Track mania turbo is one racing game I still have trouble being quick at though.

Aside from racing games, I have been at/a part of/around auto racing in mostly all forms my entire life. My dad raced sprint cars and I was at the race track with ear muffs on at 5 weeks old. On top of that my dad and I are racing fans who spent countless hours talking about racing and studying all different forms of motorsports. So even in this respect, being around it so much helps a person to pick things up in racing games quicker.

Those reasons are why you cant compare yourself to others and learn at your own pace and the best way you can. I know that advice is hard sometimes because I fall back sometimes too. I get my butt whooped by many fast drivers on this game all the time both in ARL and FIA races. Best thing you can do is try your best to study them and better yourself.

There is my ramble post. Enjoy. Lol

@Neutty , what is considered early?? I brake so freaking earlier sometimes, I have to hit the gas to get to the corner!?! That's the question I have been wanting to ask you guys, the faster drivers, how early is too early? How much brake? I've been told to "ATTACK", the turns because I lose too much speed. Any pointers would be great....from anyone.
Late enough so you don’t lose time but really enough you can comfortable get on the power early mid corner

Going off the above I noticed once I got consistent I got faster idk if that goes hand in hand or not but I worked on that first. If I was gonna be slow I was gonna be consistent atleast lol. one reason I'm always trying for the back to back same lap times is because it keeps me focused on being consistent

to help save my tires, I turned up the volume for my tires and turned down my engine sound. trying not to lock up my breaks. I also like to use my break indicator along with other markers on the track.

Ask Tex how early I can brake. (aka Bathurst) TOTALLY my fault as I didn't know the track well enough, I mean at all. If the wall hadn't been there, I probably could've flown my car to the Sydney Opera House.

I simply don't have much time to dive into the game to make a huge difference. The League has caused my improvements. Practicing with you all and doing my best to follow your tracks. I'm probably as good as I'm going to get on a controller, and I'm ok with that. You guys are awesome.

So if anyone wants to fight for last place, I'm your huckleberry.

***F1 FANTASY***

If you're interested in joining an F1 fantasy league go ahead and smash that like button or state your interest. NASCAR fantasy has been a success so far with ARL and adds another level of fun and competitiveness to watching the race each week. I know some of you aren't NASCAR fans so I wanted to create something for F1 as well. The F1 web page has finally opened up their 2020 game and I've created the American Racing League. If there's enough interest to the response of this post I will go ahead and create a new thread with instructions on how to join.

Wonderful! I could do another 20 laps on softs.
Yes the goal since the start of the season was to aim for a 1 or at most 2 stop race and we had it nailed down until something changed, I know neutty personally looked for a documented change but didn't find anything but alot of drivers had mentioned tires seemed off so now we have ran back thru the remaining races this season in hopes this is a once and for all fix. Thank you to everyone who helped tonight you guys I really appreciate it!

I sent my confirmation in for this Saturday a few days ago. I don't see me on the list so it might not have gone through.

No worries though, I will get you added.

I did it through the confirmation page and I didn't post it in the Gr.3 thread. I did do it before Thursday so sorry about that.
My race is this Saturday as well so because I knew I would be racing no matter what I was just trying to get a jump on everything...my bad.
Thanks for adding me in anyway
