I don't see it being a dev driver, as none have the super license points and those points will be hard to come by this year with things being as they are. Vettel does have the history with their engines from his time with RB, I just don't know if he would think they're worth his time, or whether he thinks theyll still be in the sport in a couple of years.

MAYBE Alonso, would be interesting. Im hoping Jolyon Palmer :lol::lol::lol::lol:
It's going to be a interesting pick that's for sure. I honestly can't call it idk which way they are going to go atleast with Ferrari and McLaren we had somewhat of an idea but with Renault no one knows lol

Anything behind the rumors of Russell to Merc replacing Valtteri?
I think merc is happy with valtteri right now they need to worry about what Lewis is thinking before trying to move against him if he ties shumacher this year and pass him next year since the 2021 rules have been pushed back for a year he might retire after 2021 and can replace him with Russell then have Russell and Bottas

Yes but IMO not yet, Russell has said many times he intends to honour his 3-year contract with Williams. F1 contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on, however, and if merc called im sure he'd jump in that seat, but I have a feeling Russell is the Hamilton contingency, and right now they have a very safe #2 who can perform when needed but will play the team game whenever needed as well in Bottas. I think Merc is weary of a Ricciardo/Vettel or Leclerc/Vettel or even Hamilton/Alonso where a young hotshot wants to prove himself on a top team and ends up making it difficult. I think Russell is mature and would play the merc games, but its a risk over the safe Valterri.

Guanyu Zhou

Bless you!

Or Guanyu Zhou. He's still with Renault....I think.

Yah he's their test driver for this year, so he would be closer. Forgot he was with Renault lol He doesnt have the super points i dont think, but would get more from FP1's if F1 comes back this year so could make it. He's always been... kinda meh for me, I didnt see him until he was F2 though.

Im super stoked to see what happens with Juju Noda. She's mind boggling.

Remember whose Russell's agent....I think he's driving for Mercedes, sooner, rather than later!

Same manager as Ocon though and that didn't shake out for him. I think Russell can and will drive for merc, just a matter of time, and Lewis has a huge influence on that time frame

I know you’re real proud of him eh

He gets a lot of hate, and he's not Canada's best rep on the grid (has the personality of a brick that says "um" a lot), but he did mop up Euro F3, podium in Baku and front row in Monza at a really young age. Was he rushed? Yah. Can he drive? Not like a Hamilton but I'd take him over ****in Grosjean lol.

I'm stoked for Latifi (Also brings a **** ton of bones but he's a like-able dude).

I think the term "pay driver" in F1 is thrown around all the time, without a lot of fans realizing they are all, to some extent, pay drivers. Sergio? Telcel and the vast mexican sponsor money. Sainz? Estella Garcia beer among others. Lando? His dad is filthy, filthy rich.

I get the hate for Stroll, dont much like him personally, but he does get a bad rap for a guy that deserves to be there moreso than some others.

My problem with Stroll is.he was my teammate on F12019, and he failed to get 1 single point all season...cost me the constructors championship!!! Freaking Douchebag!!!

I thought so I seen him on twitter today with that beer. I didn’t know Landos dad was rich just thought he was a really good driver which he is pretty good put him in one of the top 3 teams and I think he’ll flourish. But he has what you mention stroll doesn’t. Personality I mean he still streams on the regular you know, crazy part is people still donate to him lol

When you get to that level of racing, you need to have two things (1) immense talent (2) a whole lotta money. A few outliers might make it on talent (see Ocon) but people forget even Senna had half of Brazil behind him. Even if you are the most raw talent anyone has seen, you need to be able to gain and hold sponsors (see Santino Ferrucci, Kyle Larson) to make it anywhere. I once had a mentor of mine say to be a racing driver, you need to never piss these three people off: 1) Team Bosses 2) Mechs and Engineers and 3) Sponsors.

Thats where I feel people confuse pay drivers with gentlemen drivers. They both bring money, but to even drive an F1 car let alone race for two hours and not be 1 hr 45 behind Hamilton takes talent beyond what 99% of drivers will ever have. Look at the supremely talented list of drivers that flopped in F1.

Again. I hate the guy, but I respect the hell out of him.

I'll stop lol im just an F1 nut really loved the back and forth tho :cheers:
I love it man I’ve never looked at it as a money aspect I always look at the budget Of teams especially Mercedes and Ferrari and Red Bull I mean Red Bull technically has two teams and for manufacturers like Renault and McLaren to not be able to compete while the other two are constantly at the top says something about their budgets I mean McLaren doesn’t even have their own engines and it’ll be interesting to see if Aston will develop their own engine or if they’ll just take a Honda Mercedes Ferrari or Renault I guess as it stands now they’d be Mercedes but any way I’m rambling now
