"A naval relative of the battle, the Fulmar was intended as a long-range carrier fighter to replace such types as the Blackburn Roc, which perhaps was not aiming particularly high. Despite having a slightly more powerful engine than the battle I and being smaller in all dimensions, the Fulmars empty weight was over 909kg (2000lb) greater and so speed and altitude capability were less."

From this aircraft book, It's strange you ask us to post this

In this case, no proton has been transferred, so this is not a Bronsted-Lowry acid-base reaction. Instead, a bond has formed between the C=O carbon atom and the oxygen of the CH3-O^- group.

Jusik's thin pale face with its straggly blond beard was the picture of horrified embarrassment. Ordo thought all Jedi could sense him coming, but that never seemed to buffer their surprise when he arrived on urgent business.

"...Jaguar or even Triumph, the market was still ridiculously small by Detroit standards, which demands sales in the tens, if not hundreds, of thousands every year. That the car was high priced further limited potential sales."

From the 50th Anniversary Corvette book; the sentences quoted are referring to the '54 model.

"Possible; so much of police work is routine, fitting details into patterns. And if the pattern is brand new, the investigation could seem like three blind men examining an elephant with microscope."

"Proceeding as for the Wyndor Glass Co. problem, we can now formulate the mathematical model for this general problem of allocating resources to activities. In particular, this model is to select the values for x1, x2, ... , xn so as to

Maximize Z = c1x1 + c2x2 + ... + cnxn,

subject to the restrictions

a11x1 + a12x2 + ... + a1nxn <= b1
a21x1 + a22x2 + ... + a2nxn <= b2
...
am1x1 + am2x2 + ... + amnxn <= bm,

and

x1>=0, x2>=0, ..., xn>=0.

"Vijay Mallya is an exceedingly wealthy individual with a considerable love for motor racing. However, that alone hasn't been enough for his team - the team that started life as Jordan in 1991 - to set the world of F1 on fire since he invested in taking it over at the end of 2007."

"There are a few specific considerations here. You want something that's easy to get in and out of; it would be embarrassing for all concerned, and perhaps an untimely reminder of the limited future ahead of you, if you spend twenty minutes helping one another struggle out of the Lamborghini Murcielago you rather ill-advisedly ordered."

From the Chapter "Wedding Cars" (sub chapter Wedding types, Old Timers) in "What Not to Drive" by Richard Hammond.

"They were on the border of Ghealdan and Altara, in a swampy wetland where the oaks and spicewoods had given way to laurels and spidery cypress, their gnarled roots spread like spindly fingers. The stinking air was hot - despite the shade and cloud cover - and thick."

-- From Towers of Midnight by Robert Jordan and Brandon Sanderson.

Mr Segundus ate his bread (which was just as good as the late Mrs Pleasance and his friends had said it was) and his herrings and drank some tea. Their power to soothe a troubled heart must have been greater than he had supposed for he found that he felt a little better and, fortified in this manner, he put on his greatcoat and his hat and his muffler and his gloves and stamped off through the snowy streets to the place that Mr Norrell had appointed for this day's wonders – the Cathedral of York.

"The first test was at Donington Park, a grey circuit in the Midlands. Its sequence of fast, flowing turns was made famous by Ayrton Senna's gutsy overtaking moves on the opening lap of the 1993 Grand Prix."

From "The Man in the White Suit" - Ben Collins' autobiography.
I would definitely recommend the book by the way 👍
