JR98 GAMING
The Gran Turismo 2 Time Attack Challenge is a small series similar to the one run on Gran Turismo 3 where everyone is given a car to use and a track to race on and everyone has to try to set the fastest possible time. All tuning (including racing modifications) is allowed and you can use any tire compound. If you wish to have your time counted you most post an image/replay showing the time you have achieved in game. First Place gets 10 points, second get 5 and 3rd gets 2 points. A bonus point is also offered for achieving the highest top speed. No corner cutting/wall grinding.

Did it in the practice for one of the special events, as there's no free run mode on the Simulation disc.

Round One submitted. I used practice room in the Grand Touring special event. I had to reduce the overall power slightly, but I think it should be enough. Too bad those old Tommy Kaira models do not have Racing Modifications, a RWD car could have more advantage on such long corners if rear tires are sticky enough.

More importantly, when I saw a video posted by @JASON_ROCKS1998 , I quickly closed my eyes and went out of the thread, not knowing what the benchmark time was. Huh, that was close.

Round 1 is over

I submitted the time for round 2. If only more people would join, this is kinda fun!

And I think you missed the Caldina GT-T, it is definitely a wagon. :) Likewise, I'm surprised to see the 323 labeled in the game as 'Wagon', never paid attention to that model before...

Had another look at the car in game, and it's more of a 5 door hatch than a wagon (only added it as I thought it was a wagon, due to it's name)

Bit late but finally put in a time

Nissan Stagea 260RS Autech Version '98 (R)

Time submitted yesterday. I used the Megane to pay a tribute to Kit regulations. Wonderful track, good cornering line must be found to unleash the maximum potential of the car. Understeer on corner entry was a bit above my expectations, but 'slow in - fast out' method compensated for the trouble.

Which one is the fastest for the Round 4? I'm stuck on choosing between the Shelby Series 1, the Dodge Viper GTS-R and the Dodge Concept Car.

Don't know. But I'll be going for the Viper.

Time submitted. I used 1967 Stingray Corvette.

If anyone needs a list of maximum HP stats and racing modifications availability for each vehicle, visit @Pupik 's GT2 Spot here.
Thanks for this. Will make choosing competitive groups of cars a bit easier.

Can I use my Viper?
I looked at the specs for both cars (a race modded GTS and the GTS-R Oreca) and they seem pretty similar with the GTS having about 30HP or so more while the GTS-R is a few hundred lbs lighter (about 2800 in the GTS and 2500 in the GTS-R I think) so you should be good to use the GTS-R if you wish.

So, the Team Oreca GTS-R is lighter than the Race Modded GTS, right? Just making sure. 👍

Could you compare these two cars with Lap times? I'll test them in a few Minutes. 👍

As soon I finish them, I will send both lap times, so I will compare them. 👍
I was going to when I did HP and WT comparisons the other day but decided not to. Still haven't done my lap yet, still debating on whether to use the GTS or GTS-R.
