GT4 hmmm where to start?

Paint shop.
Drag Races.
Rain, Hail, Storms etc (Toca does it so why can't GT?)
Holdens.
Bathurst track.
Skidmarks that stay on the track for every race.
Records that stay on the track for every race. eg. race midfield in one championship and then the same fastest laptime is still recorded in the midfield race in another championship.
In car views with actual views from each car.
More racing views.
More cars.
More tracks.
Better A1.
More cars in races, not just me and 5 others. How about 20 cars in one race.
Endurance race which has three classes of car in one race (eg. Class A, B, C) This race then has to be won three times, once in a Class A Car, once in a Class B Car, and once in a Class C car, but you only have to win your class. Cause your not gonna beat a Class A car if your driving a Class C Car.
That'll do for now... Now what to include in GT5 :D

first we will have to know whats in gt4 before we can talk about gt5

some people just can't stop talking s**t!! Gt5 is far away......Can't you all just keep talking about the fascinating *4?????

I like the Idea about a track editor.
Basically I see a mode where you draw a circle (or other closed shape) and once it's closed, move on to picking elevation changes. What would be cool would be a bridge-jump, and if you don't make it, have to fall into a shallow creek, then fight your way up a hill, while the other cars are taking off. The F090/s RULES!

i think the gt 4 should have famous car like the general lee, shelby gt 500, and car from triple x the black one. all the cars from fast and furiuors also more japan cars, and leave out the slow cars. make the track easy, have rain, make the car light actually work not just for looks. also make it were you can turn the car on and off, the lights on and off also, also add car damage. leave out the pit stop

there should honda civic's, jettas, ferrari's keep the audio's don't have some many cars. also make the cars drive into the garage when you have tuning them up, make the cars take off fastest and burn rubber and leave marks on the tracks. also when you build a car you should be able to add turbo or super charge, and add nos. also a idea about the career mode should have to race the sponser races and win different body kits and cars and stickers.

also it should have street racers like fast and furiours there also should be a turbo button also were you race your friends car and you take it after you win.

bonus things like
gt 500
general lee
ferrari f 50
paint shop
hot rods
mustang gt cars
longer tracks with less turns
drag strip
faster game play
add cops chases
traffic
short cutts to the tracks
rain
car drivers

Going back to the paint jobs idea. How about you get to customize your car paintjob, but also with in mind sponsirs as well.
Wot im tryin to get at is:
apart from earning cash from races, you could go to races and as well as winnin a race and gettin cash, car etc. you could get a sponsorship deal as well. At first it could be a crappy sponsor paying you little money. Say they pay you $1000/£1000 for each race. You'd have to paint your car in the sponsor colour. Then as you do bigger and better races when you win more money etc. you get better sponsorship deals and again get to change the livery of your car (shouldn't be compulsory though). Just a suggestion. BTW sods if someone else has already posted this idea.:D

Actually wee-ma, thats a Damn good idea. It would add some limited visual customization, while adding a fun side element to the game. I certainly wouldn't mind something like that.

Dhjrl21, All the classic cars you talked about are probably going to be in the game, (the General Lee) which is a 69 charger RT will hopefully be in the game, although i havent seen any screanshots. If you played GT2 you would have noticed the Shelby GT in it Im not sure if it was a 500 or not but it would be safe to bet that PD will throw it in to GT4 as well. The car on XXX is a 67 GTO which i own and drive every sunday. If you look in the thread of the GT4 pics there is a screanshot of a 65 GTO. Its about time they put the goat in GT after all GTO stands for Gran Turismo Omologato.👍

I'd really like to see the ability to use garage cars in multiplayer games, but since it's going online then it must support it, it sucks not being able to choose from all the cars. GT:C had I-Link battle replays so I guess GT4 will too. Fingers crossed.

Paint Shop
Racing Mod Back
Used Car Lot Back (I need that lol)
New Tuning Parts/Company
More Cars

Yep das it, i mostly want player to be able to fulli or close to fully able to customize their car, since this game will be online ^^

THE SAME FOR ME!!!

Paint Shop
Racing Mod Back
Used Car Lot Back (I need that lol)
New Tuning Parts/Company
More Cars

It seems normal, but this is reall what i need in a good GT game. Ofcourse the graphics, tracks and car-physics are important too!!

-------------------------------------

I was there, on the 9th of june 2003, RALLYSPRINT EVENT in ROTTERDAM, The NETHERLANDS!!! :D

I hate Hondas
bcuz I owned one
But my GT3 del sol won an event for me.

I don't get the customization need -- Unless they are things that increase performance

Also I played a game at target yesterday that had 22 Cars on the track. Apparently we're still stuck with 6.

i like to customise cars so each car is individual to that player..
i think this is important for online games

Don't know if it's been mentioned but I want to be able to change my car settings OUTSIDE OF A TRACK! is that so too much ask?! hmmmm?!
poke.gif

yes thats a good idea
i hate having to load up a track to change settings

yeah, I want some D1 series drift cars as prize cars
-I want race mods, body kits, spoilers, paint jobs, carbon fiber hoods, etc
-aftermarket mufflers would be cool
-I want to be able to turn my lights on whenever I want, some of the cars look awesome with the lights on.
-I want to be able to adjust the wheel size (17", 18", 19", etc)
-I want some smaller/tighter courses for drifting
-I want to be able to drive convertibles with the top down.

and more hehe :D

How about instead of trying to cram the most cars into the game, they bring out add-onn discs full of cars/ tracks etc....like bring out a muscle car dvd or a Drift cars dvd or classic and vintage....what about a drag addon? You get my point!

So you would load up the main disc containing GT4 and place your muscle car dvd in the drive and load them up from the main menu!

Think of the expansions they could make if they made the game modular like that?

Instead of having to design a whole new game, just design new cars and tracks etc. They could bring one out every 6-12 months with all the new car models.

When the time comes for a new generation of the game....make it so car add on packs are backwards compatible with the new game.

It just makes sense damnit!

What we really need is less of the silly ideas, those that detatch the game experience from what GT was (and still is) about -- RACING

However,
I do like the idea of parts, such as functional aerodynamic bits, lightweight bits etc to be added to the car after purchase. These parts should vary in quality, and have different names to distinguish them. These names should not be real life companies, cos that would cause problems with the performance characteristics being different. These companies are also sponsors...
Wheels: reduce weight depending on size and material (made up ones will be needed here i reckon, for similar reasons to the sponsors being made up) Again rubber can be chosen depending on companies budget etc etc
This should not be tFatF The Game tho, cos that's just dumb.

Tracks: New road courses (ie routes marked out on real roads ala Manx TT [i know many of you will be thinking road course = racing circuit with more than four corners in the same direction, but thats wrong]) These should be narrow, traffic is not necessary, (that also detatches the experience) so that the 'slower' cars might actually be fun to drive. examples: Italian Alps (Italian job intro) Snowdonia/Pennines/Scottish Highlands (bl:eek:dy scary narrow roads) Japanese mountain pass (Initial D, anyone?)

Cars: More classics (Oh, KY wants this too, YAY!), greater variety of cars in terms of where they're from (eg some Aussie, Scandinavian [volvo, saab] etc)

Sponsorhips: damn good idea btw, here's wot i think: you have to drive a car of their choice around a course (ala license test, only with a car tuned by them) and if they're impressed (ie you beat a time, perhaps throwing in an inertia drift [racing technique, not showy style] for extra recognition etc) they'll sponsor you, not with money, but with parts and depending on which company it is determines the quality/characteristics of parts you get (eg some parts give loads of torque whilst others concentrate on power etc)

racing: now the big part. GT is successful because of the cars (duh) and the customisation/tuning of them and also for its 'feel'. The game is pretty realistic, however not enough for me... those of you who've played Grand Prix Legends will know what I mean by realism. In GT the FR cars accelerate straight when the wheels spin and the steering is centered; don't happen in real life, the car skews and snakes like a git under power plus torque steer from the engine makes it worse (drag racers know what I mean). The weather effects are gettin me excited, however the AI needs a serious kick up the R*se. Collision physics, already been discussed, so I'll move on; nuff said methinks.
Fuel consumption, yes. Configurable pit stops, yes. Paintshop.... ummm... yes and no... Your car follows the colours of your sponsors and if unsponsored you can change its basic colour and paint your wheels (I want those Volk Racing (Rays) wheels in Gunmetal) but not crappy metal flake flip paint jobs unless they're standard kit (they add weight you know:odd:)

Races: should be in two distinct categories, I think someone metioned this earlier, but I'll clarify.
1. GT league: sponsorship counts here, rules and regulations depending on the championship you enter (eg a GT league may restrict maximum power to 500bhp and minimum weight to 900kg whilst a touring car championship may restrict power to 300bhp and minimum weight to 1000kg as well as drive type capacity aspiration etc) Here you win cash mainly and the odd car from sponsors (these are slightly tuned by the sponsor - your sponsor that is) One make racing here eg Lupo cup (I'm sorry, it's crap, but maybe it'll be fun this time?)
2. Special event: these are less strict in terms of regulations and your car will be unsponsored, sponsored cars are not allowed. 1 on 1 road course races (remember road course = cordoned section of public roads) perhaps Initial D style on a Japanese mountain, who knows. Prizes will be seriously souped up cars, though they will be hard to win, since the races will be harder cos its 1 on 1 or perhaps only 2 or 3. Could race to win losers car (pink slips in America I believe, no such thing in this country)

Maybe I'm losing sight of what GT is, maybe I'm writing what GT was meant to be in the first place.. :troublemaker:

What do you reckon?

What about if they also make it a bit more personal as well. Like in TOCA race driver. Instead of just having names of cars all the time, you actually go up against drivers, so you can like have rivals, that you keep meeting in certain series, and they remember the way you treat them. So for example say you start your first Sunday cup with Jo Bloggs. As you advance you run into him in a few championships and races etc. And if you generally shove him about and ram him, he remember this and does it back. But if you're fairly couteous and a smooth racer (without letting him win) he does the same back. And so in the end you could be racing him in the final GT World Championship. And it would be nice to see like certian drivers stick to certain types of car and champioships as well. And maybe even we could have real life drivers as well who actually drive the real cars like Martin Brundle driving the GT1 Toyota, and Alan Menu driving a DTM Opel (if that's what he still drives). Then it makes it a bit personal. Although they'd probably need to get licensing to use real drivers which will cost more. :(

Well i think GT4 should have Holden commadores, Monaro's(same as the new pontiac gto), HSV's, Mark Skaife's Race car, HSV and commadore ute's, sandman's, astra's, convertable astra's and they should have Australian fords like Falcons, Falcon ute's, Craig Lowne's race car and thats probaly it they also shoul have australian race track's they should be: Adelaide street circuit, Philip island, Eastern creek raceway, Bathurst and i for got the rest. They should have racing series like they do on the V8 super cars(pro race driver) like an amarican race car championship australian race car champion ship Europian race car championhship and an asian race car champion ship it would be heaps kool.HOLDENS RULE!!!

Oh yeah i almost forgot you should be able to race at any time of the day and in any weather and when you look at the specs for a car in the car dealer place it should show the max speed in Kph and Mph:D
