Gran Turismo 5 90% Complete

Apparently in Japan, the delay is 1 month.How much truth is in this, i don't know.And applies to JP only.
 
Thats how I read the PD article as well, by about a month.
 
i think i saw in a recent interview the car number is back down to 950+ cars. is it possible they took out modeled, not yet licensed cars because they couldn't get a license? ex. Porsche

It's been at 950+ for some time. That is still a 🤬 load of cars.

yeah but said a couple of weeks ago it was 1000 cars . not that i'm complaining of course!
 
Am I the only one who's wondered about how many people eagerly waited to get GT Prologue, played the heck out of it anticipating a 2009 release . . . . and then died?

How many more have to die before GT5 is finally released? Millions?
 
I have an awful, awful feeling something has gone terribly wrong with GT5, it's just a gut feeling, but nothing is adding up right now, Sony really need a good kick up the arse, they need to put a release date on this thing and stop pissing people about, seriously, enough is enough.

There is only so much hype you can generate about a game, then people are going to expect some details, there is quite enough hype, now some details please....................

I often think, "heck, I could quite probably be dead before GT5 comes out", like the man above said.

So from September 24th 2009 to today, January 16th 2010 is about 3.5 months.

65%-90%=25% jump.

Wow, it's got to be soon. If it won't come out in March, April seems just fine according to the math. Let's see what Sony thinks.

Meh, Sony is being very M$ with this thing. I can't believe how many times they've pushed this release out, such that I'm quite close to not caring anymore. It's like a dysfunctional relationship--I have no faith that they'll deliver when they say they will anymore (or rather, what the rumormill says I suppose). I'd make the standard complaint that "GT5 won't even release until the PS4 comes out", but I'm sure we won't see that console until like 2021. ...and not that I care--the only reason I bought a PS3 was for this stupid game.

Ok, I really just can't wait for this thing--that's why I'm POed. :)

You would have saved yourself some money waiting to buy the ps3 until gt5 was released. May have even gotten superslim bundle with arkham asylum 4 as well.

Maybe in future PD would be better off in not saying anything about the game or releasing a single video/screenshot until the game is 100% finished....

That way a few years will go by, and you will be none the wiser, and boom one fine day a GT lands on your doorstep - surprises are always the best
 
I have a feeling that even if they put a release date out, they wouldn't have problems pushing that back as well. So I have my patient pants on(something my 7th grade health teacher told me about) and will wait to get a good version of a great game.

What I really really hope does not happen is that the game is ready to be released this summer but Sony decides to hold its release until the holidays. I think this for a couple of reasons. First, MGS4 was released in the summer and sold very very well, second, the summer has virtually no big games and GT5 would have the airwaves clear for a major advertising push, third, the holiday will be very crowded with releases and forth, I will be on my extended internship over the fall and winter. The only reasons I see Sony delaying GT5 until the holiday season is to take publicity away from Natal and Halo, not interfere with the launch of their own motion controller, and lastly just because they can.

totally agree. we all know this is going to be the best game ever. if the wait is that unbearable then either get prologue or focus on school/work. it's easier to not think about it.

Fair point but sony do use GT5 to market the PS3!

I do agree that it is better to have less info about a game before its release and keep it a surprise...unfortunately curiosity gets the better of me which is why I'm on this forum:sick:

Maybe PD tried their 'significant' online mode outside Tokyo's Gigabit Internet, and found testing it on limited bandwidth caused many features to be unsatisfactory...

I'd be amazed if they let their insanely-secretive development process outside Japanese shores - perhaps they genuinely havent tested online features in real-world internet environments..

I hope not, GT online is what pretty much everyones waiting for...
 
I think I'm no longer interested in the game. GT5P came out 2 years ago, the career mode has always just been a series of races, so it can't be the problem. They've obviously just working on another useless feature such as b-spec, photo mode that I'd never use. GT isn't a racing game, its a car game where the only point of racing is to get cash for more cars. I'll have to stick to f1 games and hopefully a wrc one gets announced.

Just judging by the amount of tracks they've announced that they don't care what fans want, took them 5 games to get a cockpit view even. Another 5 to get some decent tracks...seriously, every couple months they announce some new POS concept car that they are putting in the game, really don't care anymore. PD can keep working on their game...anyone remember GT4's online getting ripped out? the most requested feature? OH WE GOT GTPSP!!!!! who even owns a PSP for racing games.

Like Jordan mentioned on the front page, the growth from Sept to now has been a .221% a day increase.

If they completed 25% in just 4 months, what the hell happened the last 5 years?!?!1 At the rate of .221% GT5 shouldn’t been completed in just 1 year and 73 days total.

The only problem is that these percentages are all meaningless, it's Sony who are calling the shots, for all we know the game is complete now, infact, I'm pretty sure it is, but KY dare not say that or Sony would kick his ass.

Sony are quite good at making a mess of things, they make some cracking equipment, but tend to shoot themselves in the foot more often than not.

The bottom line is, it's a very small percentage of GT5's market share who are hanging on every work KY speaks, we mean literally nothing to Sony, the share holders however, now thats another story.

As for the online aspect maybe being the problem, who know's, until we get an idea of how online will work we will never know, one thing I will say though, if it's closely integrated into Home and the PSN in a big way then we are in for a very long wait, especially in Europe, I mean, how long did it take Europe to get Home up and running?

I've had that feeling for some time too.

EDIT: I'd said before although not many seemed to agree with me (if any) that I thought it could be something to do with 3D TVs which I'd read somewhere were going to appear around March. During CES though Sony announced that the TVs would appear in shops in the summer. Could there be a link there?

Most likely, they were getting to know the PS3, and they were writing the essential code.

While the base code for a game may be about 50% of the game, it's 90% of the work. And they didn't have a GT1 or GT3 to work off of, or learn mistakes from.

The reason why it's taken five years is because of GT PSP and Tourist Trophy. It wasn't like everyday GT5 was being feverishly worked on. Kazunori stated many times that GT PSP was the focus at times. And some days they only put their efforts into GT5.

Either way, this game must be HUGE. And by huge it HAS to make GT4 look childish. And if not, uh oh!
