What could the customization refer to?

I wouldn't consider a track editor to be a compromise, if anything it would be a revolution and not at all linked in any way to customization of the cars.

It's a compromise if they dont include the full livery\body parts thing, the compromise lies not in the track editor but the R-Tunes.

Hmm.... I believe that the livery editor and body part swapping are going to be in the game. However, the body part editor could be only for the "Premium" cars (not that it matters to me XD).
I'd also like to see the racing modification from GT2 brought back and made editable with the livery editor.

For me it's a livery editor as well. It's the least they can do I think. And it's not that big.
Body parts custimazation.. well, it would be really nice.

I'd like to make some ordinary cars look like the GT concept tuned cars. They look pretty cool. But not the NFS kind offcourse.

But it's not necesarry IMO. A racing kit is more suitable IMO. Like the one (I was told) GT2 had? Less effort for the developers but still good enough.

Or some kind of stuff like carbon fiber for making it extra light. Or stripping the interior. But I want to remain cockpit view throughout though. Maybe I'm asking too much this way.

And a track editor is not really my thing.. to be honest.

Aha! I feel the same way. I feel the track editor will simply be used to delegate drivers to use the layouts of existing tracks, instead of making items from scratch.

Ex: Imagine having Daytona Road, but without the little notch on the backstretch. It would change how a professional would prepare for the track completely. Now you have to take into account for a huge amount of time spent at wide open throttle going top speed around most of the track. Or alternatively, imagine having Daytona Speedway with the little notch. Now you're spending most of your time at top speed, then once each lap you have to slow alll the way down for one little section only to speed right back up again.
This is a distinct possibility, and it would be much easier than something as incredibly powerful as the ModNation Racers Track Creator. A variation of this would be to offer some basic terrain types to lay these courses on, with some gentle rolling plains, hillier landscapes, deserts, up to full mountain areas. The track you piece together could conform to the terrain, and you could move it around and rotate it till it gave you what looked like a good challenge. Tunnels should also be possible. And a city could be provided to allow you to piece together courses from the existing streets and sections of highway.

That would be nice, but I'm hoping for something like MNR's version, so if they don't include Grindelwald or Red Rock Valley, we can try to recreate them. When the "ideal" version gets made, we can all grab it.

I'm still keeping my toes crossed for a Livery Editor, and a good Race Mod/body kit system to go with it. It wouldn't have to be as insanely capable as Forza 3's to be very powerful. All we would need are some vinyl shapes and patterns, a good color tool, effects like transparency and metalflake as well as carbon fiber, the ability to paint individual elements like separate wheels and mirror housings, a range of text fonts, decals and national flags, and we could pretty much make any race car from history or our imagination, whether Premium or Standard cars. What I'm really hoping for is the ability to do this:

Tenacious I can Smell the Livery Editor , Im going to put all my chips in and say we will get one. :sly:

Honestly, I think the Livery Editor is one of those glaringly cool features of Forza that Gran Turismo needs if there's going to be any kind of serious online racing and clubs at all. So I agree that we're probably getting one.

I forgot to add that we need the ability to create decals as well. I know chances are that the art team can import a skadzillion decal images, but chances are that there are still 10 times as many out there as they can make for us, and more is always better. 👍

All 3. But thing that I most want is track editor and livery editor. Body parts, like GT2 style.

I'd like the chances to race for real teams, like Toyota or Renault, maybe Lotus etc.Real drivers could be your team mates like Jackie Stewart, Senna, Derek Bell, Jason Plato, Petter Solburg, Mika Hakkinen, M Schumacher & his bro, Richard Petty etc.

Sorry wrong thread.

Unless you can customize a driver to look like them...

A track editor is probably day/night, rain/dry.

Note the Dunlop branded tyres on the stealth models :)
Could be types of tyres available for upgrades.

I do hope the Tire Brands are an idications of being able to select from different company's. I have a hunch tho that the tires you see on the car's are just the tire's that we're on them at the time of modeling..If that make's sense?

Yeah, but the tuned TVR Tuscan proves otherwise.

As it appears in Prologue - no brand tyres, no stickers, no side exit exhausts, standard bodywork, lack of CF parts and no wing

Little something I found in a magazine a few months ago.

Under the Column entitled "4" there is a short column about how there are over 1000 cars, yes it's not news, but later in the column it says these exact words

"Si vous pensez que la Lamborghini Gallardo a besoin de quelques modifications, il sera meme possible d'alterer l'interieur et l'exterieure votre petit bolide. Comprenez l'opportunite d'ajouter des stickers et de plonger ses mains dans le moteur."

Translation from French to English

If you think that the Lamborghini Gallardo needs a few modifications, il will be possible to change the interior and the exterior of your little car. Add in the opportunity to add stickers and even dive your hands into the motor.

My take on this, the interior/exterior is news to me, as well as the stickers, however I think when it says dive into the motor, it means simply tuning the motor like we have always been able to.

EDIT: This may not be 100% reliable, however

'Shop job?

The Tuscan doesn't prove we'll be able to pick from actual tire brands; the Ford GT racer PD made had labeled tires too. It's encouraging, and a possibility, but this isn't the first game we've had them show up on a few cars, so it could be just the same as the GT4's situation.

Nope Collector's edition car!

That's what I get for reading my tabs in order of opening them, from oldest post to newest ;).

I like it, a lot. Just really hope there is some possible way for us North Americans to get our hands on all the stealth models.

These chrome-lines don't spell the death of the livery editor either, so I'm still hoping.

IMO these chrome bonus edition cars confirm some form of livery system. It may just be adding simple shapes but I'll take that.

If GT5 goes anything like GT PSP the pre order cars become available to everyone a while after release (6 months or so).

Yeah, that's what I'm banking on. Here in Canuckstan there's only one brick-and-mortar retailer doing pre-orders on the CE, so I have a McLaren F1 and a Nascar something-or-other coming to me in stealth form.

I never bothered pre-ordering PSP and ended up with all the goodies because of that pack (well, except the red SLR).

IS it me or does the CE bmw look more like the mc GTS than the normal M3

CE M3

Then the M3 GTS

They both have rear wings and front diffusers.

Though both the rear wing and front diffuser aren't accurate...

I think they used it as a heavy influence, and the performance will probably be similar, but it's still not the GTS.

I agree with you and my post is miss leading, as I also think it was used as influence.

What I cant understand its why Stock Body Kit, Its not like it will be GT4 All Over again with those ricey Spoilers as the only Visual Customization....:scared:

I think that pretty much confirms Livery Editor I hope.Oh and the fact that the Cobra and the Gulwing appear to be Premium.

They might hint, but confirm nothing. If anything, since these are special cars that most likely can't be made by the consumer.

I actually think this rules out the livery editor, since why would polyphony expect people to pay over the odds for unique "chromeline" cars if the livery editor allowed the user to make their own, and their own stealth cars.

I think visual modification will start and stop at crappy wings and maybe a little front diffuser or bumper canards
