Sounds about right.

Would have been awesome trying to decipher his body language (wish I were there). Probably could learn just as much through observing him as listening to him speak.

Anyways, GT6 it is! Please, be out in under 3 years!

No.

I recall an interview earlier in the year where someone asked him about no cockpits in standard cars and he asked if they'd really prefer even a basic, black bordered cockpit like in GTPSP to the absence of that view.

They spent 2 months on trying to implement just that over what they already had and, for whatever reason (it wasn't specified), they couldn't get it to work so ditched the idea.

Interesting... I missed that one. Makes you wonder why it was so hard...

When I played the Demo I couldnt really hear most of the Sounds , but when I rode the SLR I heard that dark groll a deep bass , so I guess the SLR sounds good :)

Head Tracking was not be able to in Gamescon demo. Why? they changed to looking cockpit side too.Maybe theres something wrong with that.

Might be that since they had problems with it at E3 and they are making progress on it now and hence isn't ready to be put in a demo yet.

I've checked for expletives and I'm too muffled to hear it. Except "...slipstream effect is massive!"

Watch out for a guest appearance from Venari near the end.

Cool, really. But... why is the Fiat 500 right hand drive!??!?!?!?!?!?

It's an italian car! :grumpy: Like the Alfa Romeo in Prologue... :yuck:

That was another motivation - in GT4 when you had a field of the same cars, they finished in the same order they started. Unless you rammed one of them off the track. It couldn't possibly be less the case here.

The AI are remarkable.

That is so great to hear. And the video showed some great driving. Well done and thanks. My only hope is that this will be available at PAX Prime in Seattle in a few weeks *crosses fingers*. If not, I fear I'll be heading home early.

Well done famine, Venari; do you see yourselves now as perhaps our new GTP correspondences? Could be a new career perhaps?

I think we do need some more genre - even game specific reporting in the games industry, as it seems most journo’s are either all-round game player types (which makes sense to a degree) or they are into particular type of game more than another, RPG, shooter etc. I am always left frustrated by the GT5 coverage many of the big game sites seem to spew out, often asking the wrong questions etc. l (no names mentioned)

Anyway, something to think about...

Shame though it was not possible to hear the cars or capture the sound over all of the noise.

Well roll on TGS, and November the 3rd. I am even going to fly to London specifically just to pick up my English copy of GT5

Great news guys! I just tested my cable (although super short) I can record the sound from the tv to my netbook. The TVs at GamesCom are actually the same model as mine so I should be able to record the sound of the cars pretty easily and then I'll have to edit them in the videos afterwards but I think it's worth the trouble.

Let me know which cars I should focus on first so I can write that down as well :)

I really need to make a list of car+track so I can make a little schedule and we don't waste too much time on this. I got only 4hours (should be less in use I guess) of battery on my netbook and a 60mins MiniDV cassette for the Camera :)

Yeah I was thinking of doing 330 P4 first then XJ13 then Zonda R. Need to pick up a track for each car, I really want to have a footage of each car (if possible) but at the very least each track.

Here's what I got so far:

330 P4 on Monza
XJ13 on Top Gear Test Track
Zonda R on Nurb
MarkIV on Madrid

Alba ~ SWEET. At this point I'll take the engine-note of any car over the thumping bass in the background... though a Zonda would be nice. :)

And again, much appreciation to all the guys taking the time and effort in making all these vids. 👍

Right now I'm watching the tracks & cars selection video on the frontpage, I'll write down all of the cars down, all of the tracks and then you guys just need to tell me what footage is missing, the Castrol Tom's Supra is the one that comes to mind. I just want to make sure I'm capturing what's missing and not have 5 times the same as the others! :)

I have not seen the Gallardo, XKR, STi, TTS, ZR1, SLS, or M5. Of those the M5, XKR and STi have never been on video ever.

I drove the XKR - to a win - at La Sarthe on Wednesday. Andreas was filming, so hopefully there'll be some footage.

They haven't included cockpits on the Standards, but did you get any tips on the fact that the outside of the Standards might be being updated, like smoothening the edges and adding some model details (doorhandles, grills) that were textured before?

I'd appreciate some news on this. Thanks in advance :).
