Watching it right now. Yes the AI is okay. But still the damage feature is average when cars hit a wall or other cars it is still like a spring or bumpcar, not much force of impact or hardness in it.

Is there any words on PS3 pricecuts coming out of Gamescom? I can't believe they are still £250, your looking at £400 with the game and a wheel! Way out of my price range for a game!

And that if you are not counting the television (300+), seating (50-400), the house (200.000) the electric supply and internet connection.
Way out of my price range for a game too :P

You've had 5 years notice this game is coming. If you cant afford 50 cents a day then that's your problem. Me? I planned ahead and I've saved a little over AU$1000 in 8 months.

It's passed 9 am. Hasn't the embargo being lifted by now or do we have to wait until 9 pm today?

EDIT: 0900GMT is 9 am + 2 hour. So I guess we'll get more news at 11 am.

Famine if you should read this, when are you and venari coming home?

Later today, we'll both be home about 12 hours from now.

A couple of Kazunori pictures got uploaded to the interview on the blog, but the rest will have to wait. We seriously have to get some better equipment for this kind of thing, it is quite embarrassing.

Mind you, with all the fussing about images published before the embargo, we're sort of glad we know we can't be involved. While we all want the inside track on GT5 and Polyphony's latest products, we've decided very consciously to respect Sony/PD's wishes to the best of our abilities. We hope that this spirit of co-operation will imbue a mutual respect that will lead to much more exciting opportunities for us, allowing the internet's largest GT community to enjoy even more exciting Gran Turismo content on a much broader and more enthusiastic level than the gaming media at large.

Stay tuned.

You couldn't hear anything though, sound was disabled in the GT5 pods.

Well, it was on, but it was very quiet, and the surroundings were very loud. I ended up turning the TVs up to maximum, it helped. The NASCARs sound excellent, as does the XJ13.

Oh... and I think I can reveal, in a possible GTPlanet exclusive... as discovered while we were driving Fiat 500s around Monza... the horn works! :dopey: Yes, you read right, the G27 horn boss, when pushed, blows the horn.

Oh, and reverse lights work too. :D

Start watching from 2:14 to see the improved AI avoidance in action.

Yes, the 'parting of the waves' when Famine was doing head-on crash testing with the NASCAR was impressive, second time around with closing speeds of around 500km/h they simply split like cattle.

Nice one Venari :D:tup:

woo, horns FTW ;)

Can't wait to read your report and see the pic/vids 👍

@Venari and Famine

Thanks very much for the efforts! 👍

Good to hear you guys did run the little 500 at Monza

Looking forward towards the rest of your media/articles etc :)

kind regards,
doblocruiser

Was great meeting with you guys! Also in the SLS AMG demo the horns worked ;)

With regards to the embargo...

It was originally set for 9am PST (about 7 hours from now) but moved to 9am GMT (about now). Some sites broke some information, and there was a little confusion about who was allowed what, but our Sony contact said he couldn't in all fairness enforce an embargo on us if other sites had already broken some news. The Breakout article will be published very shortly, in accordance with our original embargo (hey, we've just woken up again - two "am" bedtimes after a 12hr journey takes it out of you) and we've gussied up the interview article with some Venari-exclusive shots :D

Props to you guys for really trying (to the best of your abilities) to stick with the embargo. The anticipation is an an all-time high!

We ask GTP members to stick to the rules, so when we're invited somewhere and told the rules, we stick to them ourselves.

Incidentally, Translator-san is one of the coolest people on Earth. We asked him about his fame and he was completely fine with it. He then posed for a photo with Andreas, writing on his notepad

He's more mysterious than the Stig!

Just Google-Imaged him... he has a shrine!

Thats just awesome

thanks to all guys who are feeding the hungry mob live from gamescom, especially venari, famine and andreas for additionally pulling this interview stunt!

Famine, any cockpit view response?

you find it in the breakout session

and that despite their best efforts to respond to criticism about standard car interiors, they were not able to implement cockpit camera (even one similar to GTPSP’s) in GT5 – a source of some disappointment to Kazunori, who is never happy to let down his fans and is probably his own biggest critic.

Famine, any cockpit view response?

Definitely this is one item I hope we can get an answer on.

Thanks for the update Famine.

Looking forward to your GTP reports.

BTW good job!

EDIT: @ Loeb80 Apparently it has already been established, that there is no cockpit view for standard cars?

Nevermind.
