alright !!!! I'll post them :)
the ferrari one in the next hour , and the other one tomorrw because it's 440 mb big
the video is short but interesting , its pro mode without any aid

^^Now that is skid marks done right notice the rear left is the only one making a mark because the rear right has hardly any weight on it... That is how you do skid marks people :)

Kinda funny that all those who test drive GT5 all wanted to test the AI and also the damag effects thats why they drive like crazy. I hope that will not happen in online mode and there will be a moderator.

By the way is there a left hand and right hand mode. I hope too see the cockpit of Ferrari 330. 330 is my new wallpaper and this is the best looking car ever for me

Very interesting, did the jaguar spin you out. Or did you turn down on him? I find it very cool that the A.I. tried to make it 3 wide in the first turn.

All in all my top tips:

Make sure the sound works on the TV before you cue. You can hardly hear it, but it helps.
Try to come very early and stay until late - the cues are much shorter and most folks still there are quite friendly and eager petrol heads.
Watch out if there are guys handing out Lanyards - makes a very nice souvenir.
Thanks for the tips. I'll be off to the train station shortly, for the 2hrs ride to Cologne. 👍

As I thought and said earlier, the most important information is kept for the TGS show.

I'm pleased with the info we got so far. I'm as exited about Gran Turismo as with the previous installments. I'm looking forward to drive these karts.

I was hoping for a list of all tracks. I'm curious if Spa, Zolder, Road America, Bathurst and Brands Hatch are in GT5. And I'm still waiting for confirmation about the multi monitor feature.

Looking at all the screenshots and the videos posted in this thread, I'm confident that I'm going to enjoy GT5. Maybe even the online races due to the private lobbies.

Good work on all the members whom went to GamesCom and posted the youtube movies.

To all the others whom are still going, can you check or ask if it is going to be possible to close the HUD?

At TGS, I'm sure we'll get to know the details regarding customization because most of the info we've gotten at Gamescom is about tuning and upgrading.

Still expecting a livery editor. Don't think KY wanted to reveal it so early at Gamescom.

First off, thanks to all who posted videos and extra thanks for the candid and Translator-san shots. I found the cosplayer babes quite disturbing :D

I could never understand why people were bothered about skidmarks - until now.

Kinda funny that all those who test drive GT5 all wanted to test the AI and also the damag effects thats why they drive like crazy.

The impacts are done nicely. Not so sure about car to car contact yet, but wallriding should be a matter of the past. In addition, depending on impact angle you'll spin like mad. So that's a nice punishment other than a lot of visual damage and looks quite spectacular.

Edit: I found it very hard to driver properly because of all the noise. You can only go by what you see, I have no audible clues about shifting and braking points, etc. Quite a challenge for me and surely for some others, too. Though I saw that the folks serious about racing did put in a far better second lap.

👍 Nice to hear, I'm sure by the time the game is released the ffb will be mostly perfect. Is it a step up from prologue or quite similar? Also did the feedback also vary from car to car for example could you tell if one car's steering was lighter than another?

Can't compare it to GT5P, but the 458 felt more purposeful than the BMW 1, but then I played them in different setups (standard vs pro, grippier tires, etc.)

The wheels I tried were rather worn out and FFB weak, but I strongly assume that was done so folks who never had that experience weren't put off.

Have to try it on my own G25 ;)

Not sure if serious.

I'm not too sure if you realise that there is a day/night cycle in the game, either. That would mean the lighting is completely dynamic...just not in the demo provided at GamesCom.

If anything GT5 is nothing but eye-candy, isn't it?

Thanks for the update though. Good read.

Thanks mate. It's largely down to personal taste of course, and GT5 is very serious about depicting the cars. Replays are as always done very good. Some clever camera angles and visually "photorealistic".

But especially the Ring is famous for its changes in bright lit areas and dark shadows (depending on weather), and that wasn't that pronounced in the demo. That's what I meant by "dynamic lightning" - you don't come out of blinding light and dive into a dark corner you can barely make out. Again, that would depend on weather, etc.

It's of course all part of the signature artistic style of PD, which I do like a lot.

Did the demo allow for the "Extreme" difficulty setting that was announced?

Nothing said at Gamescon about "Head Tracking" and by the looks of things was absent.
Still waiting to here comments on the 3D if it sucked was okay or hey was actually nice and worth considering?

They have one pod in stereoscopic 3D, and there's an eyetoy camera on top of the screen. If I get lucky I see if I get a chance in trying it out.

Other than that, I noticed VirtuaTennis being in 3D. But as an spectator, you really don't want to look at the screen. Made me sick and gave me a slight headache after 5 minutes ;)

Oi, don't be too greedy ;) I was quite staggered by the amount of variety and choice featured in the demo. In addition, it's a lot o new stuff to try out. And Monza :D

So, better be off to the venue :D

I'm not greedy. I want to know as much of GT5 as any other member, hence all the threads about GT5 on GTplanet. ;)

Try if you can switch off the HUD, would you?

Livery editor is a no go for GT5....

From Famine and Venari's interview:

Would this include a livery editor?

“Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”.

“Probably not for GT5, though it’s certainly on our list of things to work on…”. He is a sneaky man. Also note that the stealth cars have a blank white square with no number, makes me believe we may get something.

Would you mind letting us now when he's home?
Certainly, he turned up at around midnight last night and due to being physically very tired, went straight to bed.

He's not far off finding his way to the internet, he just needs some coffe first ;)

If possible, could someone do a video in the cockpit view with as much of the HUD turned off as you can?

So to the folks who have played the demos a lot, how does it feel? Compared to the Time Trial? Compared to PC sims etc?

I don't recall there being a way to turn the HUD off, actually, though it may have been on the options list, buried in German.

Incidentally, my average speed between when I left the house on Tuesday morning and when I arrived back last night was 21.7mph. My actual average speed while driving only was 72.4mph. The average fuel economy - and this is for a Honda Accord Type-R at the kind of speeds required for an average driven speed of 72.4mph over 1,400 miles, I'll remind you - was 31.0mpg (Imp), 25.8mpg (US) or 11.0km/l (metric).

And as my wife points out, I am knackered. Eating lunch in Cologne and arriving home 630 miles later the same day was fun though :D

Good morning all.

Now I wonder what delights today will bring us.

@ Famine
Epic journey and indeed many here apperciate it.

I'm not sure what else I can add - Andreas, Venari and I did a talking heads piece to camera where we discussed our impressions of various aspects of the news and demos.

We didn't see any evidence of weather, but in his discussion of the Course Maker, Kazunori did include "weather" as one of the available parameters. The sounds have been upgraded - for the first time in 13 years we have a new tyre-slip noise! The 458 Italia in Kaz's demo didn't sound brilliant, but the system was set up for "loud" rather than "quality" - the NASCAR, on the other hand, sounded great even through the pissy little speakers on a mid-size Bravia LCD. I suspect our recording of it might not give the best impression - small microphone and lots of background noise - but it was pretty good. Some of the shadows and reflections, particularly on new tracks but not limited to new cars, were... "unfinished", but we suspect the code is literally a bare-bones demo of the tracks, cars, AI and physics. Wing-mirrors particularly seemed low-res compared even to the rear view mirror.

I had one "Do Not Want" - the slipstream effect. I don't think that FIAT 500s at barely 110mph should exhibit the level of tow the demo showed - it wasn't necessarily as significant as GT4's slipstreaming, but it is in excess of what occurs in reality.

And I had one major "Do Want". The AI.

Who'd have ever thought they'd hear that about a GT game?

Yeah, I gotta' say Famine, that's a helluva' lot of driving you did there, I do not envy you! Good work 👍

Great to read some of your new comments too, especially regarding the tyre-slip and AI.
