Gran Turismo 5 Release Date?

Hahaha, ouch rookie error for me, when the pictures full size like you posted and in a better resolution it does look miles better..

however they obviously scanned the web for a picture to use as a cover as unless PD contacted 'Alex' then that wont be the cover

Actually I don't know an insider and I would never pretend to.:p So that's nearly everyone and their Parrot that knows an insider. Like I said I don't believe it. I just thought I would post it before someone starts a thread about it. Not that it will stop them, but at least I tried.:sly:
 
Yeah it's been brought up in a few threads already today (though you posted it in the correct thread :) ), I was refering to "reliable source" is spouted all over the internet everytime a website comes up with some news. Though a lot of it has come true like the PS3 slim and firmware 3.0, but it was predictable.
 
Bought Batman last night at my local Gamestop and although i take the info with a grain of salt the polite girl told me that Gt5 is going to be released on Feb 2 10. I also saw this on the gamestop website so who knows.

I hardly would consider GS as being the foremost authority on all things Gt related but well if in fact PD skip a 09 release date i believe that it would be a mistake. I will quietly anticipate the TGS for more info.

that's what I was told at my local Gamestop also. Hopefully it's released by than.

There's only one night shot and it's very old. It's from one of the trailers used to present GT5 Prologue in 2007. Also in the game itself there's a 3D background of Tokyo at night and another of Bonn at dusk.
 
I hope that the Final Fantasy XIII December 17th release date doesn't affect the Gran Turismo 5 release date.

It's only for Japan - but Final Fantasy is a BIG deal over there, so I hope that Sony and Polyphony Digital stick to their guns and give gamers around the world a hearty choice of games to choose from this Christmas!

Just sayin'. You said "Sony confirmed" and supplied a link. I read the article, the only thing I read about Sony was "Sony has not backed this up in writing".

Where is the confirmation from Sony? Because I wouldn't mind considering that bundle.

Or delay the game in Japan but not in Europe (main market) nor in US (decreasing sales)
 
I can guarantee you that Gran Turismo 5 and the PS3 slim GT5 bundle will release this year - it wouldn't make sense to not release them for Christmas.

Next year, Sony is going to be pushing Heavy Rain, GOW III and other top-tier titles for the first quarter - adding GT5 to that mix would be too much. As far as first party titles for this holiday season, all they have is Uncharted 2 and Ratchet & Clank; they need GT5 to win the holiday system war. ;)

Look at the choices this Christmas:

  • Someone wants Gran Turismo 5 and they already have a PS3 - so they just buy the game
  • Someone wants Gran Turismo 5, but they don't have a PS3 - there is a bundle for that
  • Someone wants Uncharted 2, but doesn't yet have a PS3 - there is a bundle for that
  • Someone wants Assassin's Creed II, but they don't have a PS3 yet - and they are considering buying Gran Turismo 5 and Uncharted 2 as well. All they have to do is buy the Assassin's Creed II PS3 Slim bundle and then buy the other two games to go along with it

Sony wins the holiday system war. Period. 👍
 
^It has to come after the PSPGT, which is being released in October. Kaz said so (I think) and Sony is making it so.

Buy the bundle and sell the slim to get the game early, OH NOES! :D
