Soo...

I hope it arrives in time for the custom races... and I wonder what will change.
Probably their ability to drive in the rain—real rain, not like the rain in the Power Pack, which was very grippy.
Maybe no more rubber banding?
Defending their position?
Making dive bombs? (not like in Power pack day one PLEASE)
Making mistakes?
Will each AI behave differently?
Or will it be possible to have AI at the same level as in the beta version if we want to?
It's true that it was incredibly difficult, but at least it forced us to drive within our limits, and it was so thrilling.
Man december is so far... But the main thing is that the lovely Sophy will always be in our hearts...
Ya, I get the sense that there may be. This appears to be a big time expansion on what GT7 is...man, it has come a long way since launch.Honestly, with the SPEC IV part 2 release on December, I hope more tracks will be Sophy-compatible in customs, and perhaps she will be able to drive in wet weather conditions just like her 3.0 counterpart.
SOPHY only uses ABS. What circuit(s) are you having SOPHY use it? I will say, one of my E36 tuned to run against C5s and 993 CS RS is crawling around Road Atlanta. Yet, my set of E36s detuned to run verus DC2 ‘98 models are keeping pace at the same circuit in the same race.Tried it and the e36 driven by Sophy still brakes earlier than any other car and is at crawling speed through faster corners. Do you use brakebalance or extra weight?
Ohh.. The Clio V6! I already have a full grid of these beauties, amazing races indeedYa, I get the sense that there may be. This appears to be a big time expansion on what GT7 is...man, it has come a long way since launch.
Also, I wanted to post that the Clio V6 is one of the best Cup racing in this game!! Run it like it's a Race A or Race B in Sport Mode and it's a real blast, with or without boost.

I wouldn't read too much into how they organize it. It's more of a happy accident than a concerted effort. For instance, they added the Merc Evo and BMW Evo. They already had what amounts to race mods for all cars (suspension, transmission, etc). Then, boom, you get DTM if you use the livery editor.Well, with the addition of Sugo, JTCC Group A from 1985-1993 have the core circuits of Sugo, Tsukuba, Suzuka and Fuji. Sendai Hi-land and Mine circuit are the remaining two not in the game. Though Autumn Ring could be used in lieu of Sendai and Yamagiwa in lieu of Mine.
It’s weird. Even though PD put DTM on the map in Weekly Challenges and the Power Pack, the amount of Group A cars are more geared to the JTCC, with many manufacturers from Alfa to Volvo. Especially now that we’re getting the Mugen Civic.![]()
I only did tests at Spa. The braking get's better with different suspension tunes but the laptimes are never anywhere near a competitive time (it's competing against Integras, S14, 190e ...)SOPHY only uses ABS. The more the straight lines are long and the more it is noticeable. As I said in my bug report, they brake so early at Le Mans that they have to reaccelerate to reach the next turn.Okay, a couple of you are on to something with the SOPHY performance. Just ran Group A SOPHY at Suzuka and SOPHY is braking way too early into T1. I’m usually the one braking early. Throughout the lap, SOPHY continues to brake earlier than expected. Something ain’t right.
Yeah, I’m in my Division 2 E30 that’s slower than the R31s and RS 500s and I caught up to them. What’s really weird are the five E30s in my class just dropped off as I blew past them. To add, my E30s are rev happy and my own car feels slow to rev. All the cars appear and sound like they need tune ups. Nothing wrong with the console performance.
Caught the Division 1 cars and passed one of the Supras. Before the finish line. If I went another lap I might have moved up and caught the RS 500s.
Not sure how the programming could be changed in a couple days. Weird no doubt!
Edit: Ran the same grid at the trusty Sardegna B and no issues.
Ya, it isn't all the Sophy cars, but it is many of them and I do still believe it is the diff. The Suzuki Carry is the worst offender. It almost comes to complete standstill with Sophy in the turns. Opening the diff didn't change it much in Sophy, but made noticeable difference in Reggie. So, I'm still suspecting the diff is the issue even in Sophy.Okay, a couple of you are on to something with the SOPHY performance. Yep, Reggie has improved quite a bit, but there are some things you need to know...I see the draw to reggie now, come across some settings that suit me using my garage cars.
Ignore their fastest laps. It's cool if you can beat it, but often the back field will boost to keep the field together and someone will find several seconds out of nowhere that are (sometimes) physically impossible.I'm around 4 seconds a lap slower than the fastest lap so something to aim for.
The AI never gets penalized. This is why I use "Heavy" damage or "Championship" damage. It's the only penalization that the AI has to deal with. On a side note, it also changes how they drive (at least with Sophy) as they try to avoid the damage. Not convinced they receive penalties like I do though.
Grab my tool from Github. It's an HTML file and runs in your internet browser. All you need to do is set up your race. It gives you a starting grid and tracks your championship.Just need to learn how to use excel for a spreadsheet championship now
Sometimes, that's what you wantThanks for the advice. I noticed that ai always do a smashing lap on lap 2, I was catching them at a rate of knots last few laps, I have championship damage set, think heavy damage too much as the ai randomly pit which in effect puts them out of the race.
I SOLVED THE BRAKING BUG!!
It is indeed the differential. If the braking sensitivity is set too low, Sophy stops far too early. Bonus finding, the higher number, the deeper they go into the braking zone. It's as if the braking sensitivity is also being used as a braking zone adjustment in Sophy. I've tried a few cars with the sensitivity set to 100, and they drive fine.
In the video I posted, I show the Lambo with a wide open diff (Bad Diff) and I start the race, you can see how the yellow Lambo ahead of me causes chaos. I then switch to the "Good Diff" with a braking sensitivity of 50, and the Lambo takes off into the distance.
I also tested this with the Suzuki Carry, which has a default wide open diff. Racing them in Sophy with that diff is HORRIBLE. I then set the braking sensitivity to 100 (max) and that race becomes immediately awesome.
So, there you have it. You may want to experiment with your cars because this seems like another way to make the racing better.
@Famine We might want to pin this to the top of the thread so everyone can see it, or somehow call it out. It only really matters to the custom race people.
😒 😒 😒 😒 😒I don't understand why you claim the culprit is the 'braking sensitivity' parameter in the differential settings and go on to show us that you changed all three initial torque, accel and braking parameters from the bad diff settings to the good diff settings. That's certainly not how 'fault isolation' works in engineering. I mean, the issue can certainly be caused by the interaction of the 3 settings in the diff as a whole. Not saying you might not be on to something, but I do not see such a bold statement regarding the braking sensitivity individually.
That’s cool. I’m still not game to do no boost. Thanks to some of your tunes @05XR8 , I was able to test a 20-car race yesterday. 12 laps at St. Croix A,reggie, no boost, slipstream real, 5x fuel,1x tire. I was in a Chaser with your no aero tune. What a fun race! It was pretty much close all the way with some of the grid. I have a couple I need to retune. But I only won by less than 2 seconds with another Chaser behind me and an MB EVO in third.
I tried this and it didn't resolve the issue I encountered here.Word of caution with the altering the braking sensitivity for an entire field. It works! However, the racing might get VERY close amongst the Sophys and there will be pile ups. So, use sparingly for the cars that brake too early.
Also, opening the rest of the diff can help the late braking cars to navigate the corner.
Lastly, for those who are looking for a little "personality" from the cars, 1 or 2 clicks is enough to alter the behaviours and have the cars act like different drivers.
It's been a good find so far, but I've only tested on a handful of models. I'm going to play with the F3500's to see if I can make the cars reflect the driver. For instance, "Senna" should be a bit better under braking, so I might turn up the dial on his cars.
Ya, what you describe is completely different. What the diff change fixes are the Sophy (specifically) that begin slowing too far before the braking zone, then crawl slowly around the corner, before accelerating again.I tried this and it didn't resolve the issue I encountered here.
These must be completely different problems.
