After reading Voodoovaj's post about boost off I tried by curiosity,I always played with boost weak and 95% ECU.

I think that it's the "best" we can get at least with Reggie.

My grid was gr 4 ff cars, tcr like grid, stock minimum aero, the cars go between 645pp to 630pp then on my car I reduce the ECU to 95% and add 100kg in ballast and the result is great.

Great races with possibility to play with pit strategy and the AI as a "regular" pace and once you're ahead you're ahead no tricks, only downside is a overcut strategy or if you can't keep under 15s of the lead.

Some tracks need more or less ballast or power nerfs but for an all rounder way it's good.

Wish that it was easier to enjoy that part of the game but it is what it is.
How long was your race? Similarly, I’d abandoned Boost Off a long time ago, but that was back when they would consistently start dogging it after roughly the halfway mark of longer races (40min+?).

What happens when you’re more than 15sec off the lead? What about the overcut issue? These might be solvable with the ‘rabbit’ technique.

Thanks for testing/reporting!

My races were between 20 to 30 min, the 15s issue it's a slow down from the lead car, so you can catch up, and the overcut/undercut it's basically the same, you pit the ia takes the lead and slows down and when they do their pitsop you retake the lead with a much larger gap.
A rabbit will always be a good idea but I don't know it feels out of place fighting for p2.

I don't have enough time to test all variables, I still want to play for fun.
There's a lot of things I don't know too, like putting fuel management to 3 or 4 does it compensate for the throttle bug of the ai? If yes it makes the setup much simpler. Does the bop option make for a better experience all around or the "hand made " balanced grid is better?
At what point does the rubberband kicks in for boost off or weak? Like precisely how many seconds.
If I was 10 years younger I would try it all but now a can't. That's why I love this thread you guys are great.

The fuel map idea is a very good simple way of doing it. However with fuel consumption enabled, the car is heavier. So it's really about what you're looking for. That is a great idea though.

I think setting the slipstream to strong makes for a better race. Here, it's all 3500A but the top teams get the Renault v10 swap. I use the F3500 because I think they're more interesting cars to drive when compared to the super formula cars...just my opinion. Also, I race with a 10 minute time limit rather than laps so the races are always about the same amount of time, regardless of the track size.

Sundays daily challenge is a one make wang race at Alsace village for 8 laps thankfully no fuel or tire rate to be used, it was like a normal drive at the ring endurance last time there was a wang race.

Doing these championships, I have to say that Sophy seems really well suited to them. One critique is that it needs to fight with itself a little more (Strong slipstream helps).

But, what I am seeing, is that there is one or two cars that seem to always trend toward the front. I did an F1 2026 season and I was battling for points against Antonelli and Hamilton the whole season. Near the end, Hamilton was always there near the front no matter where he started. Antonelli got close, but Piastri started to come on strong.

I set up the Ferrari, Redbull, McLaren, and Mercedes with Renault V10s to make them flow to the front, but it still worked really well even though I know there was no scripting involved, because all the "scripting" would require information from my championship.

Gah, thanks for reminding me that the F3500B isn't Sophy-compatible. :grumpy:

Here's some screencaps from recent series and some recommendations at the end for anyone new.

Just finished F1 2026

And now I am doing the Abarth Cup again

I'm finding that the strong slipstream and full damage helps with Sophy competitiveness (in a season). The Strong slipstream gives them enough extra speed to make a pass. The damage allows back markers to make their way up the ranks.

Btw - I put the race manager on my Github. The link is in my signature. It runs in a web browser.

I haven't posted in years and thats because I went on to make more Custom Race set ups as well as improve the one I had already.

...and I just didn't stop until today nearly 2 years later

48 Championships, all using different cars, most I designed the liveries for (the exceptions are Freeze Breeze Cup, Formula Classic (based on F1 97) and All Japan GT Championship (the cars based on JGTC liveriss I ported over)), all grinded for

They are structured into Tiers like its own Career Mode, idea being kinda like TOCA Race Driver 1 where getting enough points take you to the next tier though in this case there the Tier+ Championships inbetween Tiers which are the "boss" Championships

I'll give them a much closer look gradually overtime but here is my entire list.

Bryan Cranston Mic Drop GIF

Amazing!

P.S. If only GT7 allowed to share custom race settings the wonders we would see from this community
