Weird that this 1-0-0-0-1 pattern for US cars (although 1.40 was three American cars, so really it was 3-0-0-0-1) has repeated four times now (1.27-1.34, 1.40-1.46, 1.46-1.54, 1.54-1.59).
Striking statistics!
One of those many-very-unfair-trade-deficit-things, perhaps?

Well, the hope here is that they have already broken their french car X February update pattern. May be also for others things that I fail to remember. Why would it be different for American cars?
Something has changed with 2025.

Nissan Qashqai: Because last Nissan was added more than half a year ago and because of the crossover/m..family car trend

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra: Because we need one sports car in the update and we know its coming soon.

Another one: No idea what it could be but no kei car, no rally car because of the recent additions. Maybe the Fiat Panda?

No track, no new features.
Sophy for 1-2 more tracks/layouts.

In the information about the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra there was information about a potential new VGT car.

It will be added sooner or later but I believe we will need to wait a couple of months more 😅

My two cents... no new track, and a Japanese list with these here...

Replace the ZZT230 with the ST185 and you have my vote

Besides that, while a new track would be very nice, I can't help but dismiss is as very wishful thinking even if some would suggest otherwise that there should be a new track soon-ish or later. I dunno, I'm well deep into the 'it is what it is' phase into GT7 updates now, just being grateful of what we get everytime a new one drops...
Otherwise, I'm going to reiterate what I attempted to predict last time around, a new Subaru/Mitsubishi car of some sort plus two more to make the Twitter crowd seethe even more, some new Scapes and a new track for us to play around with Sophy.

No new track, Tahiti might arrive in 2026. An American race car, a European slow car, a Japanese funny car that is also slow. Or it could be the R390 road car or race car. And the Delta S4. And the Ferrari 499P because Kaz been' at WEC races lately..! Prius touring car, detailed from GT5&GT6, would be redundant because it can never be fast, only sustainable. But typical PD.
A BMW M1 would be really extremely surprising! And popular.
But the Zytek Z11SN Gibson 015S would be a good addition since it did decently well, and all of the cars I guessed except for the Ferrari 499P would be cheap to license.

The FTO has to be one of the most Gran Turismo cars not in the current Gran Turismo... and boy, talk about a huge list!
It's probably my most wanted FWD, at this point. I can't think of many other FF's, off the top of my head, that I would want more. It's always been a very competitive little car, in past Gran Turismo titles. I drove the wheels off it in GT3.

The FTO is up there, but the NB MX-5 is surely the #1 on the "huh, that's really not in Gran Turismo still?" list these days.

The EG Civic was probably #2 before they added it last year.

A car with a 2 litre V6 is very quirky indeed.
For this game, more quirky than the small V6 is that it’s an FF three-box coupe, which there are none.
As it stands, the Citroen DS21 claims the only FF three-box spot. To me that’s crazy after twenty-seven years of Gran Turismo.

Now that the Corvette lineage is complete, I wonder what the likelihood of finishing the Mustang lineage will be. The 2000 Cobra R was iconic in GT3/4. And the Foxbody has never been in a GT game..

Thats damn specific.

Crossposting from the Xiaomi thread: Apparently Kaz said when he was there that the SU7 was coming in three months (from late May when he was there):
According to this video, the SU7 Ultra is going to be release in 3 months.

GT7 is mentioned at the 4:49 mark though I wouldn't mind being corrected on the translation.

Edit: Found the 3 months thing via a comment from the uploader.

If you're someone predicting they skip July, the Xiaomi should probably be in your predictions for August.

It’s quite some time ago I began to feel a bit like a parrot…

…but anyway.
I expect one gapfiller.

Subaru have one - or two - generations of WRX STi. Both incidentally on the ”datamined list.”
The WRX STi ’04 or ’10. Hatchback or sedan. Both historically important. The sedan in particular, as a Nürburgring long distance production touringcar.
Must be a Good chance for any of the two to appear.

However. There are a couple of gens of Civic Type R:s left. And personally I’d like to have an EP3 as filler, and leave the datamined spot open for Bugatti Type 35.
That would also cover the Historic vehicles cathegory.

That would leave one spot for the unexpected or unpredictable ”New” vehicle. For 1.61 it’s …

Are you one of those? Just asking because you're usually the smartest guy in the room so I can set my expectations straight ;)

I would love something similar to the FTO LM race car [4wd} in GT7, but even if the fastest FF FTO was added it would not be an important new car addition.
I guess y'all want this:

That's why y'all pooped on my opinion about the FTO being added to GT7???

I wouldn't say that's why they did it, but because the FTO was a fun FWD sport compact just as some other cars in GT7 are. Which are also rivals to the FTO. Things like the Honda Integra Type R and Nissan Silvia for instance.

As for this opinion, there isn't a real hierarchy of importance with adding cars to GT7 or any GT title for that matter. There's just cars people want in the game and that's it. And since you mentioned "fastest FF FTO", the GP Version R is literally Mitsubishi's equivalent of a Honda Integra Type R or a Nissan Silvia. It would give those cars an extra rival to race against and GT7 doesn't really have enough of those.

Lots of "want" and "would love", but no predicting...

Gonna throw this one out there, that could be for any potential future update...

The return of the BMW 507 '57, and an Extra Menu for BMW convertibles/roadsters:
  • BMW 507 '57
  • BMW Z8 '01
  • BMW Z4 3.0i '03

Worth noting the 507 has been found in the code, and was a new car in GT6 debuting in premium form.
It seems to be setting itself up for a future Extra Menu quite nicely.

---------

It also feels like we're due a random classic muscle car of some kind. One I've been thinking about that could also fit the weird & wacky world of Polyphony Digital additions is the return of the Chevrolet El Camino SS 396 '67, another car that made its debut in GT6 as a premium model.

Part muscle car, part pickup truck. A perfectly odd Polyphony-esque addition.
And although very different from the 2 pickup trucks we already have in GT7, it could make sense for a new World Circuits event to be added to the Pickup Truck Race series alongside the car.

Unfortunately they didn't make the Unimog or Carry eligible for the pickup races, so I doubt this would be eligible either were they to add it.
