I'll be honest, when I saw the content for 1.60, I thought the update would be worse than it actually was.

The BX for example is pure Gran Turismo, a regular car you can push much higher than where it's supposed to be and it comes with full customization. Usually these cars end up being the best cars in the game, because they're so much more flexible than most supercars.

So even if it's lower end cars again in 1.61, I think I'll be able to make something out of them.

I understand some people want latest race cars, I do too, but they're unlikely to come IMO, due to:

  • Licensing: In recent years we have official games for IGTC, Le Mans... Maybe it has become harder for PD to license things.
  • GTWS: PD unlikely to add new Gr.3 in the middle of GTWS season and have to tweak BoP for them.
  • Number of events: WTC 800, where Gr.3 is used, has A TON of events, I think it's 16 events. This at the expense of other classes.
  • Possible saving for GT8: Happens with many games, GT8 will be a leap, more so than GT7 vs Sport, and so will be its cars.

If new Gr.3 come I expect them to be either vintage or Evo version of what's already there (like the Huracan).

But Gr.3 is far from being most problematic class. Gr.4 is almost completely fictional and the only car to come in an update was that Mazda hatchback. Gr.2 is a mess ever since PD nerfed the CLK-LM and the F1 GTR to uselessness in WTC 900 events (IIRC the GT-One was also nerfed but still competitive). Gr.1 is similar to Gr.3 (only "new" car is Toyota GR010).

The last point is where I convinced myself before because of me remembering the Ford GT Race Car '18, Audi R8 LMS Evo '19, Genesis X-GR3, etc. being saved for GT7 and I imagine they're doing it again for the next title for the newer race cars they have in store.

Sometimes this type of prediction are fun, but it's increased likelihood to guess within some subcategories like nationality & type of car & decade the car was first sold. Usually we get only one out of 3-4 which is a good or decent car. While the duplicate car issue is debatable in GT7 because as opposed to GT4-GT6, the gross similarity of many cars means some models are redundant even if we like car itself.
While this "trend" has been mentioned, perhaps one good race car from the 90's or 2000's, one good European sports car, one boring Japanese FF car, one heavy American sports car.
But PD could do much better so the best prediction is 1 good car out of 3-5! Whatever continent or nationality they might be..!

Is there a prediction in there somewhere?

Don't expect back with R18 TDI (Le Mans '11) with redundancy was cut from GT7, maybe returning in Gran Turismo 8 probably at launch 2026 or 2028.

Says the other person who has also added nothing. Either post something relevant to the discussion, or don't post. It's not a difficult concept. The above member has a history of these kinds of posts. A lot of exposition with little to no information. The point of this thread is to make an educated guess as to what (specifically) will be in the next update. Simple as that.

Which is what both of us did. You sound like a Redditor.

GT3 cars are in this weird grey area where because they are all customer programs, licensing the cars themselves is generally not an arduous task if you have a good relationship with the manufacturer, but licensing specific liveries for them is a lot more cumbersome.

It's why the '20 AMG and the R8 Evo are in factory base colours, and the '18 GT-R was originally in a fictional livery. And why pretty much everywhere outside of ACC that has licensed the M4 GT3 just has it in the usual BMW M livery.

No it isn't what either of you did. For the love of....

The point of this thread is to make an educated guess as to what SPECIFICALLY will be in the next update. You pulled the typical pouting move of "three road cars with two of them being boring commuter cars". That's not a specific prediction at all, and you know it. What will the 3 road cars be? What 2 boring commuter cars are there going to be? What 10 year old sports car is it going to be? Simple as that. Expand on your thought.

The passive aggressive posts like "Some boring cars that I don't want, and no track again...lol" doesn't add anything to the discussion. It's literally just pouting.

There was nothing passive aggressive about my post.

I've been pondering for a good while as to why PD seems either unable/reluctant to get the license/rights for the newer GT3 cars. It's either that the manufacturers put out a list of requirements that PD don't like, or it's also possible that some of these cars are in the works already, it's just that PD's obsession for detail that's making it longer than expected for it to be ready either later or for a hypothetical GT8 release (which is what a lot of people here seem to believe to be the case). Either way, this licensing issue is a can of worms and we can only speculate as to why a lot are absent from the game.

Forza Motorsport uses the Turner Motorsports livery for the BMW M4 GT3.

On that issue, I think GT300 liveries might work if they want a non-factory/presentation car.

I also predict that AI Sophy will be available on a new real racing track, since Kaz were at many real racing tracks too watch real world events. While predicting a specific car might be the specific purpose of this post, it has only a few percent chance of being correct. But similarity is good enough in this speculative contest.. One Mitsubishi, the BMW 507, & Buick Special or Art Morrison Corvette '60.

My predictions, mostly just the ghost of GT past and Filling out the lonely Mercedes-Benz dealership(because right now only the SLR occupies it). Also some good sleepers
main car1: 1998 R129 SL500(the street m119 is an easy engine swap with the Sauber c9 m119HL)
main car2: 1998 E31 850CSI(McLaren f1 swap, another easy swap)
main car3: 2003 x308 XJR(giving some competition to the Giulia quadrifoglio; doubt jag is willing to license it though)
main car4: 2004 p2 V70R and S60R( bringing the fight to Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Subarus doorstep, only Volvo could do this)

Sub cars; the fall back list, likely more realistic too.

Sub car1: 2017 S90 T6 (as far as I know this would be the first twin-charged engine in GT history)
Sub car2: 2022 polestar 1 (this really should be in game already, the r35 and modern nsx's only real competitor)
sub car3: 2024 Xbow GT-XR (again why isn't this in game yet?)
sub car4: Ginetta G56 (any variant, this is a certified Silverstone legend)

Is TCR bound to any exclusivity deal? Forza has some cars but they mostly are named "number - team - car name" instead of, i.e., "Golf GTI TCR"

anyway i wouldn't be surprised if a TCR car featured in the next update. My bets would be either an Audi RS3 LMS or a Honda Civic Type R

The RS 5 DTM is explicitly named such despite the rights to DTM being with RaceRoom. They could name it "Golf GTI Touring Car" or something if they couldn't mention TCR by name (note that TCR cars are also consumer programs like GT3s/GT4s).

(GT previously named race cars in team convention as well, but they were genericized starting in GT7 for livery reasons.)

i believe that we probably wouldnt see any new racing cars in an GT7 update. Not even TCR or any type. I also think that we will have 2-4 updates more and then a slow down will come. And finally, i also think that this may be the last big update before slow down.

Don’t get me started about TCR or any kind of FF touring car that has to be added or returning to the franchise. We’re lucky to have the Mazda Spirit Racing Mazda3!(y’all can thank me for that one) :sly::lol:

Anyway, think I’m going to make another amendment. Turned my PS5P on and this was the first demo image.

Replacing the Primera 2.0 Te with this Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo. Still a three box four door sedan, but with the requisite drive wheels and engine aspiration for how non-suv cars are added.
