Gran Turismo 7 July 1.61 Update Prediction

Real tough to say.

If there's a July update (and PD has skipped July before), I'd expect it on 24th - so yes, silhouettes this weekend. But the 31st is also possible...

Which brings us to the real question: when are you going to be on a day-trip without internet connection? The 23rd or the 30th? I'd say that's the only real way to know when it's going to drop.

For you guys that are more observant, do you think it's possible that for the update week PD picks events for the weekly challenge that lines up with upcoming cars, so say if you wait until the last day, you can still use the new cars on the weeklies that were there before the update?
I noticed two updates ago that the weekly challenge leading to the update had an American FR 550 event at Laguna Seca, which if you waited until thursday post update, you could use the brand new C5 on it. And last update again where you could use either the Citroen or Peugeot at the Spa European Sunday Cup 500.
Is this even something to keep an eye out for or just coincidences?

Of the three 1.58 cars, they're all technically eligible for WTC900 but not, the Vantage is able to enter the European Sunday Cup but it's a bit much, the Kangoo can also enter that event, and the CX-30 should be good for the Japanese FF Challenge.

I'd say that it's 6 or 7 of the ten update cars in the last three updates that have had WC events they could immediately, reasonably enter, so maybe it's not that far-fetched.

In which case, ~two of the probably-three cars in the next update - if it comes on July 24 - should be eligible for the Japanese Clubman Cup 550, Silvia Sisters, and/or the American FR Challenge 550.

I'm liking the NISMO 270R for the first two there

Since you took out the data, what is the situation with updates having more than the usual 3?
In the "old" times before they started tweeting out features of the update, I would imagine that these bigger updates would come after a month of pause or one where the update was mid-month, to allow for more cars to accumulate in the pipeline (I know they are likely done concurrently, but you get my point).
However, since they are now tweeting them at more or less "regular" intervals, I would imagine that a 4-5 car update would also need more time after it to allow spreading the social activity on a larger interval.
Do you have more data at hand about this? We are getting close to one of the two "big update" windows, but if it needs more time in preparation, that would that they skip July (which seems unlikely given what @TheAdmiester said) and go for an end of August update (although mid-month updates aren't impossible, an August 14 update seems like a suicide).

Instead, assuming they can crank out a 4+ update this month, I'd say:

• Family cars: 2 because they are slowly building the starting roster for GT8, this is reasonable as they can't have most of the novelties being SUVs. I'd say one is a Nissan (last great manufacturer from Japan w/o a SUV iirc) and another could be a Stelvio QV, for which they already have the engine sound, as it should be the same as the Giulia GTAm iirc).
• Quirky cars: Citroën H Van. Historic vehicle, seems compatible for building a Menu with the Kangoo and the Carry or with the Unimog and a third vehicle released in the future, long production so lots of generations to be chosen from and it's a Stellantis brand, so seems to be coherent with the last update and the French taste this 2025 seems to have in terms of updates.
• Sports cars: I'd go with one of the cars present in Tomica Town scapes. It was said to be similar to previous, which would go towards high-end GTs, making me akin to say Mclaren Speedtail.

Even though I predict way before the week of the silhouettes, that’s something I actually do look at before the silhouettes drop. Just to see if could possibly use them in a Weekly Challenge.:

• GR Yaris Automatic(Japanese Clubman 550)
• Ferrari 512 S(not eligible for any Weekly Challenge)
• Mitsubishi Lancer Turbo(Japanese Clubman 550)

No, each update of the game is always scheduled at the last Thursday of each month. I'll re-read the article just to clarify.

Much like last update also added Round 1 live event's Dynamic Viewing, if this is to hint, I think the next GTWS exhibition season will kick off after the update's release.

Let me be optimist, i believe they will add a second mission challenge menu with longer endurance races
