Fine then...

Please use this thread to make your predictions for, and discuss, Gran Turismo 7's next update.

We're calling it the June/1.60 2025 update because... reasons. We don't know that it'll arrive in June or be called 1.60, but both fit existing information; Kazunori Yamauchi has stated that the updates aren't monthly by design, though we have grown to expect it. The April/May 2025 update arrived mid-May, at the end of the GTWS qualifying schedule as predicted, while June includes the first GTWS Live Event of 2025. Additionally, the Viewers Gift Campaign for the event specifically states that the rewards will be "delivered after the next update", and their closing date is June 23 - potentially indicating a June 26 date for the update.

Notes:

  • DON'T POST WISHLISTS
This thread is for predictions (guesses with evidence; see below), not hopes, wishes, wants, or abject rectomancy. If you can't post here without doing that, just don't bother.

There are no second chances on this because we've wasted too much time with people who want to divert threads from their purpose and we've gone out of our way to give them enough other places to get it out of their system... Continuing to ignore this very simple instruction will lead to thread bans, and repeat offenders will collect a site-wide ban.

Apropos of that, wishlists go in the Car & Track Wishlist Thread which we made specifically for that purpose:

  • Predictions are guesses with evidence. Given that the entire past history of free Gran Turismo game updates (with one exception) has given us the expectation of the number of cars (single digits) and tracks (one or zero), if you're posting ridiculously long lists of cars and multiple tracks then that's a wishlist. See the first rule. So are lists of brands (multiple) which have never been in the game series before or which have been cut and are showing no signs of returning («coughs» Lotus «coughs»).
  • bUt We DoN't HaVe AnY eViDeNcE. Sure you do. There's been almost 30 content updates now. That shows you what volume of content you can expect and what type of content PD is focusing on. Over the last year it's been filling in generational gaps of certain model lines (see the C5 from 1.59), but there's also been quite a few oddballs lately (Unimog, Kangoo), some day-to-day modern stuff (C-HR, CX-30, CR-V), some well-placed cars from our Suggestions forum (hey look, another place to express your car/track wishes!), and some 4K-era upgrades to cars from previous games.
  • Go

It does seem like we've been getting quite a few Japanese SUVs/CUVs lately, so I'd imagine that one from Nissan could be next, especially with their new design direction. Heck, it could even end up being the Ariya Nismo for as little as I know. Then there's also Subaru, which also doesn't have an SUV/CUV yet, but I'd imagine an older Forester would be very iconic indeed - perhaps the Japan-only Forester STI from 2004?

As far as kei vehicles go, I think that the Suzuki Carry opens the door for other comparatively practical kei vehicles like the Honda Acty.

I would also imagine that one of the upcoming live GTWS rounds will be TBA, specifically hinting at a new track either this June or some other time over the course of the season.

While the last update was indeed unusual for lacking an Extra Menu, I am still convinced we'll get some featuring certain designers like Pininfarina, Bertone, and Zagato - as well as individual designers like Giorgetto Giugiaro, Giovanni Michelotti, and Frank Stephenson. Plus, although two of the cars in the Lamborghini-themed Extra Menu were designed by Marcello Gandini, I still think there could be an Extra Menu featuring his other designs. I would also not doubt the idea of an Extra Menu featuring the three late-90s GT1 racers. Furthermore, I've always thought an Extra Menu featuring the three LMP1 cars from the 2016 season of the World Endurance Championship would be incredibly likely, with the Porsche 919 that won the LM24 that year, the final iteration of the Audi R18, and the Toyota TS050 which would later get Toyota its first overall win at the LM24 in 2018.

There were also my guesses for engine swaps. The only limitation we've observed so far is that we've never seen a car get more than two possible swaps, so that still opens up a ton of options. That said, I'd imagine the engine from the Aventador SV would go into another Lamborghini model, with the older Countach LP400 being the likeliest since the 25th Anniversary gets it - though I could also see it going into the Diablo GT, or even the Gallardo. The engine from the Corvette C6 ZR1 would also seem like a great fit for the Pontiac GTO Judge, being a relatively older GM vehicle that isn't necessarily from Chevrolet itself. I also foresee the Suzuki Carry getting a swap, seeing how pretty much every other kei car has one - my bet's actually on the K14C from the Swift Sport, as it already goes into another Suzuki kei car: the Jimny XC. On another note, the C5 Corvette seems incredibly likely to get the engine from the C7 ZR1, as that engine goes into pretty much every single other Corvette model. As for the C8 Corvette, I think that's gonna be a 50-50 between the engines from the C7 ZR1 and the Bugatti Chiron, as the latter already goes into the C7 ZR1 itself.

I predict an update
Now watch this prediction age very badly by the end of next month

But let's see what else
Not sure about a track, I've been thinking "well this one is definitely the one" for like last 3 updates probably, but nope. Maybe no more tracks at all? Or maybe yearly? But that's July then. Kaz said "we release stuff when it's ready" so technically any update can have a track and there's no pattern, it can be just something really big so it takes more time to make. But I simply don't expect a track at this point because it's been so long and I think it's a fair assumption GT7 might not recieve more track updates, so no track this month either way.

3 cars is probably a safe bet, with another oddball there for sure.
1. Maybe Fiat Panda will make an appearence now, it didn't look far from being ready in that one image.
2. Something from both datamine and suggestions forum - Lancia 037
3. And the third one is a regular old JDM machine + getting closer to completing a line-up - Mazda RX7 FB

I will go against the grain and say we won't see the similar situation as last year with a big update being unveiled at GTWS.

4 cars by the end of june, 4 to make up for the additional weeks we gained with a mid-may update. Then yet another regular update in July, no ceremony at all, just the regular program.

I'm not really good with picking individual models without letting my personal biases show so I'll just go with "types" of cars:
1 racecar that won't be the ones everyone is so thirsty for, so no R390 GT1 or modern Gr.3 - something that can go in the LCD.
1 regular/appliance car, we keep getting those every update now.
1 datamined or previously leaked car.
1 VGT, we don't get one in forever.

Fiat Panda
I've got that mentally pencilled in for September.

We've seen this sort of situation twice previously. A Ruf CTR3 was shown as a model in a Sony Bravia ad in July 2019, and it arrived in GT Sport in November 2019. After that we had the Jaguar XJ220 interior model shown at a PD presentation in December 2022, landing in GT7 in April 2023.

That gives basically a four-month span from seeing the model to it appearing in the game, so with it being shown in May it seems that September is the likely time.

Of course that's neither a guarantee it'll appear then, or that it won't appear before then.

I'm thinking more Sophy support is a no brainer. Maybe another Asian track or Nurb GP. Hopefully the Carry gets Sophy support as well. Heck, maybe Race A this week is a foreshadowing with the Carry and Tokyo Expressway Central getting support.

Given that the fan events are giving away a GR3 car that's under wraps, maybe they'll finally add a new GR3 car. I'm thinking that's a safer bet than a new track, but hey, we might get both.

I thank we'll get 4 cars
  • something unexpected and introduced in the event, like happened with the f3500
  • a car from the datamine list
  • a returning model to complete a lineup, my vote goes to R34 Z tune (the only Nismo special gtr missing)

I am thinking me may see if new unexpected VGT. 1 Japanese car, 1 European car, 1 meme car. I guess we'll see what happens

Going to say 4 cars - PD have generally been pretty good at "catching up" after breaks to maintain the roughly 3 cars a month-ish pace.

I think datamine car + crossover/SUV + something non-standard for people to argue about (Hiace, W196, F3500, Unimog, Kangoo, Carry all qualify) is a pretty consistent formula at the minute, so I'm just going to play things with a straight bat and go for that plus trying to logic out something for the 4th car. Also we just had an American car, and we get like two of those a year so not going to pick one of those.

Let's go with:

  • A Mazda MX-5. There's four of these things in the datamine; one has to come eventually, right?
  • A Subaru Forester. I expect Nissan CUVs to be very popular picks this month; this is the same logic but just trying to be a bit more unique.
  • The original Suzuki Jimny. It fits in the game since there's a Jimny event, it's in Suzuki's Brand Central channel, Suzuki seem to be doing very well for DLC cars, and most importantly for the weird slot prediction this would cause big arguments among certain parts of the GT internet fandom.
  • A Porsche 992 Gr.3 car. Either the Cup or the GT3 R, take your pick. I try to avoid predicting modern Gr.3 cars, but I'm giving it a shot for once. Here's my incredibly tortured logic: The Viewers Campaign ticket is not being released until the update. One reason this could be is because a potential reward won't be available in the game until then. The Valkyrie is of course in the game, which means if that's the case it has to be a Gr.3 car of a competing manufacturer. Of those, it won't be a Ferrari, Subaru, BMW or Lexus, because the promotional picture shows the 458, BRZ, M6 and RC F. It also wouldn't be an AMG, Mazda, Nissan, or Honda because those Gr.3 cars are up-to-date (I also don't think they'd put the Huracán Evo 2 in as anything more than GT Auto parts). That leaves the Toyota GR Concept, McLaren 720S GT3, and a Porsche. I just think the Porsche is most likely of those three, so I'm picking it.

I'm going with:

Nissan Juke, on the basis of the current crop of crossovers being added, I think this is probably the easiest to predict.

Mercedes 500e. We're getting a clear out of datamine cars with the Aston and Ferrari recently, and a lot of people would like to see this car appear I feel, plus I reckon it could become a new meme car.

Lamborghini Huracan STO. Last two updates have featured supercars in some form or another and this one is sorely missing.

Alpine A290. Electric, been getting all the accolades. This might probably wind up in GT8, so either this or the BMW M4s most recent generation considering that's also missing.

Possible 3-4 cars with some surpises (one SUV one Kei car one most wanted car and something that only Kaz knows)!!!
They care only for World Series....
No cafe extra menu...
3 races (Its very difficult for PD).... i create a custom race in 20 minutes with car choice and race settings
A crappy bunch of Scapes with geometrical or some blure photos...
Some fixes...
No championships no online customization more in events or something else...
The time to abandon GT7 is started...

I read all previous postings (and the guidelines) and i do have a valid prediction that I do believe will hold some water...

My first entry in this prediction is we will get another SUV/Crossover but it will not be from the Asian Market, it will be European and from an existing make that is currently in GT7. My predictions that it will be a Porsche Macan or AMG EQE SUV
2023-EQE-SUV-FMG-004-DR.jpg
or AMG GLC 63 S E PERFORMANCE Coupe.
S-BODYSTYLELANDING-GLC-COUPE.jpg
Or better yet the Jaguar F-Pace.
JDP_2024 Jaguar F-Pace SVR Ultra Blue Front Quarter View.jpg
As these all are high performance types.
The second prediction is that we will be getting another track, mainly because we have not received any new tracks since Eiger and that snow covered thing in the Canadian Rockies. The track will most likely be Motegi or the Montreal GP circuits because of the past postings elsewhere in GTPlanet stating that these tracks should be coming to GT7.
That is all I have and my evidence that should back my posting.
Thank you for reading....

To continue the SUV additions maybe the grandad of them, the Nissan cash cow (aka Qashqai). It feels that this vehicle started the trend.
As Corvette "gaps" are now filled and Skyline/GTR well catered for, I could see generational missing links of MX5 or Imprezas being added.
Probably some more obscure Scapes.

I was chatting to someone in meatspace about this, and these are pretty much what I came up with: Qashqai and NB/NC MX-5. Don't recall what the third one was.

Getting back to back to back CUV-SUVs, maybe we see a break. Picking from the datamine, past teaser possibilities and a couple videos that have certain cars already in the game.

- Volkswagen Golf GTI ‘05. Previous car in the franchise and slots between the Mk1 and Mk VII.
I would have chosen the MkIII/A3, but might be a bit not special enough.
We have tons of FF turbo hatchbacks in the game and the MkV seems par for the course. The tuning world adored these cars in its time and featured in various race series in Europe. Tartan seats for the win.

- Mitsubishi Starion. Other than a possible SUV or Triton 4x4 or sport wagon like the Legnum VR4, I don’t suspect a people mover being added from the brand. Plus, with sports coupes dominating over any sport sedans in the game, another JDM FR turbo to add to the large Group A era of machines seems inevitable.

- GT Awards or Pebble Beach winner.
The Ferrari 512 S or AAR Eagle has to be good to go. Players are just coming down or rebuilding their banks from pulling the trigger on the W 196 R, it's time to empty them pockets once again.

No track.

3 cars update:

  • 2010 Subaru impreza WRX STI Sedan (Datamined list)
  • 2021 BMW M4 competition (Obvious omission + only missing generation to complete the M3/M4 legacy)
  • 2022 Nissan X Trail (to complete the japanese SUV/CUV roster)

I’ll go with the following:
  • Nissan Juke NISMO RS ‘18 - keeps the theme of Japanese SUV cars and can also give one to Nissan this time.
  • BMW M5 ‘05 - datamine car and highly regarded requested car with a great V10, would be the first M5 car in Gran Turismo 7.
  • Fiat Coupe Turbo Plus ‘00 - returning from previous games (was once rumored to be scanned but I believe that was a fake rumor in the end??) and would be a popular return too.
  • Porsche 911 GT1 Evo ‘98 - we have the ‘97 Straßenversion so adding the full race car variant would make some sort of sense in that regard (would also make another rival for the McLaren F1 GTR cars and the CLK-LM of that late 90’s race car).

If these 4 came in an update I’d be pretty pleased - I think the Juke has the greater chance of these 4 predictions just because of being a Japanese SUV (knowing PD they’ll add a regular one if the Juke does come to Gran Turismo 7).

Couple of fun stats quirks for you in the car content.

We've never had four successive updates without a race car. In fact we've had three twice - Super Formula in 1.32 to Mazda 3 Gr4 in 1.38, and Mazda 3 Gr4 in 1.38 to the TS020 in 1.44. Currently we're on another run of three successive updates without a race car, since the F3500 in 1.55, so we are perhaps due a race car.

Pre-tuned cars (SEMA vehicles, and Tuner models like the NISMO 400R) are the rarest addition at 0.14/update (or four in total). That averages out to one every seven-and-a-bit updates, and it's been 13 updates since our last one. Maybe overdue for one of those too...

Seems unlikely we'll get both in one update, but then two of the four updates with Tuned cars have featured exactly one road car, one race car, and one tuned car...

All-new to returning has been about 2:1 across all updates, but the last five have been 17:2 (and only then if you count the C5 as returning) to push that out to 2.5:1. You could see that as either tilting that way for good or due for a correction, I guess.

With all the SUVs/CUVs lately, I imagine a Nissan Rogue being added.
Rogue and Rogue Sport are just US-market names for the X-Trail and Qashqai, so if they do get added it's more likely they'll be under the non-US names. Personally, what with the three previous ones all being C-segment (from one of the smallest to one of the biggest), I think the C-segment Qashqai is likelier but at this point you wouldn't be too surprised to see virtually any day-to-day crossover.

Three-car update just to be safe:

Fiat Panda Super i.e. '90 - This car was already being worked on from behind the scenes when Giorgetto Giugiaro visited Polyphony's Tokyo headquarters, and was said to be "the most perfect car he has ever designed". It's only a matter of when, not if this car will arrive in the game.

Honda Civic Type R (FD2) '08 - Like how the C5 Corvette Z06 was added to fill the gaps of missing model generations, here in GT7, we still don't have the EP, FD2 and FN2 (Euro-spec model) generations of Civic Type R's yet, and the most popularly requested Civic Type R happens to be the FD2-spec sedan.

Koenigsegg Regera '16 - Kaz had recently tweeted about driving a 1,500hp car on his Twitter, and since the Bugatti Chiron is already in the game, he might be hinting to the Koenigsegg Regera.

Given that we've never gone this long without a race car, I predict that we will - finally - get a new one this update, and one that will make lots of online players happy, the Ferrari 488 GT3 EVO 2020 '20.

I also predict that this is the mystery reward car, I don't think they'd give away a 1,000,000 cr+ legends car in this manner so it has to be something newer.

However, despite the fact that a substantial portion of players have been asking for new GT3 cars for ages, I predict they still won't be happy because it's not the latest 296...

As for the other cars in the update, I predict some rather humdrum typical GT fare that will be overshadowed. Most likely the Mazda Roadster (NB) '98 and the Subaru Impreza WRX STi Sedan '10.

There's room for a fourth car in this update, most likely something quirky as unusual cars have been a pattern as of late. That might be a crowd-pleaser such as the Autozam AZ-1 '89 or something like another SUV/CUV but GT updates have never added multiples of one particular vehicle type in successive updates before so I don't think we'll get another one this month.

I doubt we'll get another track.

I also predict that this is the mystery reward car
There isn't a mystery reward car. The car that will be awarded for the Manufacturers Cup Viewers Gift Campaign will be the Gr.3 car for the brand that wins the final race at the London live event.

The only unknown part is which of the 12 brands that is because the race hasn't happened yet...

[*]Porsche 911 GT1 Evo ‘98 - we have the ‘97 Straßenversion so adding the full race car variant would make some sort of sense in that regard (would also make another rival for the McLaren F1 GTR cars and the CLK-LM of that late 90’s race car).

I generally believe that there is high chance of more „group 2” cars being added. Both nissan r390 or 911 GT1 or even Panoz or something (who knows).
Why i think that? The WTC 900 have only 4 events, and I think PD is keeping more of them for later cars.

Circuit:
Mobility Resort Motegi
(Only track presumably being worked on, or to be acknowledged by an article)

Another Hybrid/Electric SUV:
2023 Nissan X-Trail E-POWER E-4ORCE

A Datamine Car:
2006 RE Amemiya Amemiya AsparaDrink RX7

A Gr.2 Race Car:
1998 Nissan R390 GT1

Hypercar Not in Game:
2013 McLaren P1

Two race cars in an update is unprecedented, but I think it is possible if Motegi comes. This would give Motegi potential WTC 900, WTC 700/Gr.4 or Hypercar Parade events. I think SUV/CUV events are coming to GT7 soon.

Two race cars in an update is unprecedented
It's rare, but it's happened. Three times in fact - so once every almost-ten updates - although two of those are "I guess!" technicalities.

That's 1.17, which had the Escudo Pikes Peak and the Suzuki VGT Gr.3, and 1.49's Subaru WRC and Genesis VGT X Gr.1. The one that's clear-cut is 1.32, which had the two Super Formula cars and the Mercedes-AMG GT3 '20.

I can only predict a track because it feels like it’s been along long time since we saw one. If there is a track, I have no idea which one. Hopefully not hillclimb, rally track but a circuit.

Yeah, we're now into record territory for time and number of updates since a track.

That either means we're due one to break the slump, or never getting another

It does kinda feel right that there should be something coming, but then again it would seem like London would be the right place to show it... and there's no TBA in the schedule. Manufacturers is Tokyo Expressway South Clockwise (for qualifying, hyperpole, and final) and Nations is Grand Valley Highway-1/X2019s for qualifying and the final race and La Sarthe/Valkyries for the sprint race.

We're overdue for a new course or alternative layouts being added for existing courses - i.e. Barcelona RX. And the recent streak of commuter cars + the Carry seems to suggest that they've been working through a checklist of cars that fall under those categories. With the Carry being present now, I have reason to believe that we may see the following:

  • New/BC: Subaru or Nissan CUV (i.e. Crosstrek or the Rouge models like discussed above)
  • Used: Keitora - Possibly a Daihatsu Midget II if they were able to get that license, but more likely a mainstream keitora such as the Honda Acty or Mitsubishi MiniCab.
  • LCD: I'm not sure on this one, but I feel like, going off the updates, that we're overdue for another major LCD car being released.
I'm not expecting anything more than 3 cars...
