Curious where this would land as far as performance in GT7, IIRC it's basically a F1 engine and chassis with a modified van body which means it may be similar to the Escudo which is in limbo between Gr.3 and Gr.2.
It wouldn't be grouped, 800BHP is far too powerful for Gr.2 but it's still a silhouette racer (albeit a really weird one) so it's not eligible for Gr.1, which is currently exclusive to true prototypes (and VGTs).

Pontiac Firebird
Another one? Well, PD do like doing cars two by two. ;)

Well, I think it’s a possibility. Although this Firebird is only in the Scape, I can’t see PD just letting this one go without modelling it.

Similar to how the 500 E is in the datamine. I mean, it may not be this particular 500 E, but it is weird this car just happens to be in the shot.

After a lot of those credit cheats I've thankfully been able to maintain pretty well at the cap since the exploits were patched thanks to weekly challenges and the time trials... I usually buy whatever has a good selling price in the legend dealer so I could off load it assuming a lot more cars are coming in the future. But even the last several games I've hoarded cars for the long term, it's never really been necessary since I'll be stuck with 40 some odd Venenos when the support ends like in GT Sport

The museum is saying that PD/Kaz will be coming back again soon, so it sounds like they still have some unfinished business....

Hopefully a Christmas 2024 GT7 update for us in time for the car 30th first auto show reveal anniversary...

Which is exactly what happened:

A rare appearance at the live 2024 International Paris Auto Show (Mondial de l'Auto) that ended on Sunday.

It also appeared on Drivetribe a couple of weeks ago, where its appearance in Gran Turismo 2 was referenced a few times.
So it's seen quite a bit of activity lately.

Not that this would confirm anything about it returning in GT7 of course.
Though it's already box-shaped, so all they'd have to do is wrap it and add a giant ribbon for a holiday update haha

maybe PD will be back for the licensing matter, so I think it's only a matter of time that car will be back to Gran Turismo

Just waiting for the: “How can he have that many Credits?!?!” Comments! 🤣
I have bad news, but my 10M Cr. are gone.
Now I've got a 911 GT1 Straßenversion in GT Silver Metallic, finally!!

There's a van the game needs to add! Especially so those who actively refuse to play GT7 or put it down with zero actual experience racing on Gran Turismo 7, but constantly complain about GT7, especially that it adds vans in new releases - all while playing buggy frustrating games that have more bugs created each update, and can complain GT7 got another van. Gotta give the self inflicting sadness bunch what they want.

If only we demanded more of every title.. more vans for more unlimited replays!

Overall we've got things really good in the Gran Turismo franchise. Especially compared to the more general gaming ecosystem of layoffs, severely broken/unpolished games, invasive monetisation, lack of creative direction, company scandals, corporate executives doing corporate executive things etc.

That's true. But we also have very weird choices and a lot of things that could be improved with the base they already have, just using assets already in the game.

Obviously there's GT-related things that help with this - there's not the struggles with the PS3/Cell anymore, and there's not the lack of content, question of direction, and middling reviews of the early Sport era either.

But I think the rise of PS Studios as a whole helps here too - nowadays GT is certainly respected but it's also not one of the top PS breadwinners, it's a clear step below TLoU/Horizon/God of War/Spider-Man. So there's fewer eyes on it and it's more free to just be the car game it wants to be. Comparatively, in the PS3 era, Sony's AAA first party output was basically PD, Naughty Dog and a lot of desperate flailing, so there was a lot of pressure on GT to head the charge and that's how you get the GT5 DLC model of only getting to use a purchased paint chip once.

It's also been spotted as a 2025 Hot Wheels model. I've found that a diecast model is a good indicator that it may show up in video games actually

I am still far from proficient on many tracks we already have so I don't mind not being showered with new tracks, IMHO it is more about what to do and with what cars that makes a track enjoyable and I don't mind re-using a track a lot, as long as I have fun on it.

And there's been a lot of tracks I used to dislike and thus not use much, where I changed my mind, wether being "forced" to use them on TTs, or with the Titans during our sunday races.

As for cars, I feel a bit the same than with tracks. Lots of them are unused and I have plenty to discover and learn.

On the other hand there are a lot of things that could be improved in this game if only PD cared to :

  1. AI and race format (chase the rabbit, rubberbanding, fair-play)
  2. Career, championships, utility of most licenses
  3. Economy
  4. Roulette
  5. Invites
  6. Selling engines and parts
  7. Collector level not improving beyond 50 (and tickets stats improving accordingly)
  8. Distance driven absent
  9. Better filters while browsing cars to sell
  10. Better filters while browsing the showcase
  11. ...

The things I could pat PD on the back for would be:

- Shopping Cart.
I should be able to add as many cars to a shopping cart my acquired credits allow.

- one click car upgrades that coincide with Styles.
If I can add a whole bunch of parts and skins to a car, all the performance upgrades I bought for said car should transfer just the same. We even get a notification advising additional parts will cost X Credits before accepting a Style from another player.

- one click performance settings transfer.
I literally zone out when I adjust settings on twenty, thirty, forty of the same car after I buy them. Let me select and click my duplicates to apply same set up in one go.

I'm not asking for much.

I'd like to see Custom Races improved, and especially the requirement to own multiple copies of the same car just to be able to run different liveries.

At the moment, one can race against a full field of the same car (with the same livery), so creating 'temporary dupes' is clearly not the problem. But if you want these to have custom liveries, they need to be selected from the garage with the livery already applied. Being able to create temporary duplicates and apply different liveries would make Custom Races much easier/quicker to set up.

-

I also thought about one-click car upgrades, and figured that the Tuning shop could have car-specific tuning packs, like Manthey for the Porsche 911. That would be pretty cool, and much easier than manually adding parts and then tuning the car.

Many of us say it's so weird of PD to not add certain options. The Favourites option is not implemented well. If we could access a favourite livery while building a one make grid, that'd help.

We save a Style, but if it's a widebody, I can't transform a normal body car to the Style in one click. Nice that I get a notification to advise the widebody Style won't work on the normal car. Just go the next step and ask if I'd like to proceed with the complete widebody and Style conversion.
