I just got my ps5 pro with gt7 instaled. I did the data transfer from ps5 to ps5 pro and I can confirm I didnt loose any replays or photos with that method.
Here is a link to a video with a guide I used:

How long did your transfer take?

It's really remarkable how much time consoles are wasting for consumers and preventing them from using their own devices, and how it is accepted as just fine.. At this rate I imagine in the future people will just obey and comply to wait days for their domicle/head control unit/vehicle energy plants to be recharged every annual license renewal for breathable air. And just another confirmation the replays are not saved in the cloud or on the rental pay subscription PSN game save and just on the console itself and yet still arbitrarily and unnecessarily restricted ....

I followed exactly every step in the linked video. Took about 1h as I had about 450gb in 6 games installed.
Last gen when I from ps4 to ps4pro I didnt do data transfer ( just installed gtsport normally on my, at the time new, ps4 pro) and lost all my replays that werent share online.
I guess PD just assumes people will mostly do data transfer when switching consoles.

I guess sony/pd just want folks to have to buy a whole new PS5 Pro to get extra replay save room while 1.8TBs goes to waste and then keep the old console air gapped to have the replays till a PS5 OS image is available in a few years to enjoy the replays in a VM.

Just thought about something, is the Porsche Mission X going to be 1,500 HP like Google says and will it be a Road Car? I could probably use it for Hypercar Parade grinding.
Likely:

#Road Car, #Concept Car, #Electric Vehicle and #Hypercar

Polyphony can create a fictional (yet believable) spec sheet for the Porsche Mission X much like what they did with the Toyota FT-1 road car.

Again, replay files are telemetry, not video, and require GT to reconstruct the replay itself, and the 2GB local save file cap is a hard limit instituted by PlayStation two generations ago.

Why you keep banging on this drum with incorrect information escapes me.

I understand being annoyed at the state of things (And boy do I have THE list of things I am especially not fond of), but to consistently bang out posts like that is abit much.

Let me recall. You got your ps5 pro, installed gt7 and you lost you replays, right?
Do you still have your og ps5 with gt7 installed? If so, try to do a data transfer like that video I shared. Maybe you get the replays back that way.

I'll use data recovery to get the bits and hold it until it's easier or trivial to access and use. And then have a process to ensure I can keep all bits on redundant storage.

Maybe some drums need to be banged more often and by more to make sure there is progress, not just mediocrity and acceptance of losing out from bad decisions and exploitation.

It works better when you're not continually posting the same nonsense - despite having been repeatedly informed of the facts of the situation. Otherwise it just comes off as trolling.

Change doesn't come from stupid people saying stupid things stupidly. Or at least not any kind of good change.

Hello everyone

I need some help, I have a ps5 pro and did the transfer of data from my ps5 to pro, I selected gt7 for transfer. So on the pro my progress carried over but I've lost all my replays, my lap times are there but replays or ghosts can not be loaded. I still have my ps5 and my psn subscription ran out in July, I will renew it next month.

So what do I need to extract from my ps5 and put onto the pro? Does anyone know?

Thank you

Can't believe I'm posting this, and I might sound like a Karen, but I expect a lot of quality from PD. Their attention to detail in cars has always been unmatched.;)

But they dropped the ball really hard on the 992 Turbo S. Don't get me wrong, I still love the car and I think it's a great addition to the game.

To start with, the rear spoiler is just fixed, not active for some reason.

(I mean, really? Even Forza Horizon 5 has active aero)

The intake inlets don't seem to work either but I don't think it really matters.

Also what's up with the interior? The infotainment screen is just turned off and why is there no digital speedometer and gear selection on the tachometer? Is this an option or something?

(And why is the car in Normal mode and not Sport Plus?)

That being said, I really like the car and its addition, sound could be a little bit better and I wish we could hear the twin turbo idle but oh well. I'm hoping it can be improved and PD should definitely consider adding more Turbo models in the future.

Edit: Just realized that the raised spoiler is available to install in the GT Auto as a Custom Part! Why not just make it active?

Had a go with the Porsche Mission X and boy, was its wheelspin absolutely poisonous. Still, I was able to do a 6:16.107 around the Nurburgring with it. Its bold claim of wanting to be the fastest road car around the Nordschleife can easily be proven wrong as it will still lose to the Aston Martin Valkyrie by a lot.

The rear wing doesn't move up via speed, but via the mode set by the driver.
(The press release says it works as an air brake, though)

For the Jimny, what about the kei Jimny with widebody equipped?

The XC Jimny's spare tire is brand new, while the Sierra's is almost worn out. Also different colored air vents.

Thanks

That's basically what I did, the only difference was that in the "select what to transfer" screen I individually chose certain games to transfer and left others. I might try it one more time though.

Your games progression - in case of GT7 - is stored on the game server.
Replays are not part of the data that are stored for the games "savegame" so they can not be transfered.
As I dont do replay stuff, I dont know how you would copy them onto your Pro, maybe share replay on PS5 and download on PS5Pro.

I love how GT went from being the victim of EA's exclusive Porsche licensing to literally making one-off trailers celebrating their relationship with Porsche. Granted it's not a one-time thing now that every single game have access to Porsche cars, but it's just so lovely to see.

I think GT going for the Mission X when other racing sims all seem to have settled on the Mission R as their Porsche Mission EV rep is a really good shorthand for how PD's car roster priorities differ from their contemporaries.

Whether that's good or bad is in the eye of the beholder.

Handles... not great. And useless for sardegna 800, as charge only lasts couple of laps.

Defo needs a tune, and even then, only useful for races with no consumption.

PD's use of the Pro hardware always very smart and precise. I am 100% buying a Pro now, especially for VR.

Compared to PS4 Pro enhancements for GTS, this is a much bigger patch.

Reminds me of how the R35's screen doesn't work in this game... even though it did in GT5 and 6... and despite the fact that PD designed its interface in the first place.

For the Jimny, what about the kei Jimny with widebody equipped?
It'll have small add-on fenders.
The XC Jimny's spare tire is brand new, while the Sierra's is almost worn out. Also different colored air vents.
The difference is because the Kei Jimny still has an old comfort tire and the Jimny Sierra has a Michelin comfort tire maybe).

And Vice versa, Porsche seems to be proud of this association

Keep in mind that big diference (removing ghosting) is when you enable new reprojection algorithm but in this case there are some artifacts, not sure pro is worth it to be honest

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Mission X originally supposed to be THE Vision GT? If so, its kinda funny how it ended up in GT Anyway regardless.

Going from "too good to be a Vision GT" to being "not good enough to be part of the Holy Trinity part 2"
