Blind hope, but seeing so many other games having significant content news as of late, be it Forza Motorsport, iRacing, RaceRoom, Assetto Corsa Evo, Automobilista etc.
It's making me think we surely must be getting something juicy in the presumed late November / early December update.
I mean it seems like LMH/LMDh cars are popping up left & right across different games now, for example.
And I can't quite get out of my head the idea that the 2024 GT500 cars will be on their way to GT7 at some point.

I'm not getting my hopes up on something happening outside of the PS5 Pro stuff and the normal 3 cars, but it does seem kinda odd how the majority of other games have stuff going on or announced, and it's been relatively quiet for GT7.
I am of the same mindset, been thinking this past couple of days:
Found it weird that so much progress and improvements made all around and things are being added a constant speed, but nothing much from PD, they seem to have slowed down....

The quiet before the storm, or just PD simply slowing down and working on GT8/PS6/VR3 for 2030 release ?

I'm definetly not getting my hopes up either apart from maybe 4 or 5 cars instead of the classic 3.
With the community being happier than ever about the game and its updates, why expect them to suddenly drop a very big update, especially when you guys also (rightfully) say that they don't care about their competitors.

You asked for it.

At the same time beggars cannot be choosers...

So we are victims and at their mercy...

Thus the mixed emotions around here for say the past decade...

Just my two cents here... I honestly believe we are at the end of GT7 as a game. Its kind of the Pattern PD has had in the past with GT5 to GT6 and GT Sport to GT7. Less and less content comes out to release as a bigger batch for the new game. Id love to see the new GT3 and GT500 cars hit the GT series. Also, as a HUGE fan of Endurance racing, they do have the partnership with IMSA, which could give light to the GTP Class cars (LMDh/LMH for WEC).

Dripfed content is just the new way of supporting games post-launch, and as long the community is happy because "the updates are still free" then it's not gonna change. PD are not different than others like many people think and i wouldn't expect things to change for the better anytime soon.

I think we'll have to wait at least for the next game for those new race cars and i'm not even sure. They're famous for not using their partnerships in favour of their players. Remember how long they've had the Pikes Peak exclusive license for? People still think we're actually gonna see that in the game?

I recognise this is an unpopular opinion, but the LM hypercars, especially LMDhs, have reached that GT3 saturation point in sims for me where I just can't build any excitement for them.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy for the people who want them in, I'm not saying PD shouldn't add them. But the 963 and V.Series and BMW M are cars I can boot up a bunch of sims and drive already. Stuff like the modern GT500s, or rally/Pikes Peak cars, or historic cars are way more unique, and I think unique is what I'm looking for from car roster additions these days.

Thing is before gt sport, gt had very little content updates, gt5 and gt6 didint add much cars or tracks after release.

Sure they had more cars and tracks, but we had the issues with the majority was ps2 assets.

Gr.1 needs sorting out before they should bother adding things to it in my opinion. It's an absolute mess, you've got like 3/4 different classes all under the same BoP and barely any of them are competitive with eachother.
Doesn't need more bloat adding to it, they need to actually split it up and do it properly so it can be used in the first place.

It has always been like this. It will always be like this.

I've done the data transfer when setting up my Pro and it did not copy across any of my replays. Really frustrating from PD.

I learnt my lesson when I upgraded to Ps5.

Since the switch I've been committed to sharing my replays directly from the post race lobby (which is much easier offline than in Sport Mode!), for the very reason that i came to the same realisation you did.

While I'll always vouch for new race cars coming to the game, I do wonder how they would balance any new LMDh/DPI machines up against the existing crop of Group 1 cars.

Given there's Vision GT, faster LMP1 machines - I can see them being generally regarded as useless.

And we know that for any events that will actually use these cars, PD won't enforce restrictions or use BOP for single player events (unless it GT Sophy and those are only 3 lap sprints anyway). Not to mention there are no endurance events for any of these Group 1 cars to shine...

This is the same team that put all the resources towards building a track only for it to have a single event (take Northern Isle Speedway)

In my opinion it would be better if LMP1/Group C/hypothetical LMDh cars had their own categories. It doesn't feel serious to race such cars against each other and VGTs

I think that’s a fair take. As am the opposite but I get what you mean. I’d love to see the SC63 or 499P in GT7.

But I’d love to see the 2024 GT500’s from Toyota Nissan & Honda more. Bundle them in with Motegi. Man, that would be some Stella dlc.

Not only would the 2024 GT500 trio be perfect due to there being a 100% turnover of models, but also because it'll be another even eight years between them and the 2016 models, which in turn have eight years between them and the 2008 trio. But we can't forget the other three DTM cars from the "Class One" era, either, especially now that we have the Audi.

Of course, I'm more than down to see the latest LMH/LMDh racers, too. In fact, the only Gr.1-eligible cars I'd wanna see beyond that would be the Peugeot 905, the Toyota TS010, and the Audi R8 LMP that gave the road car its namesake.

Believe one of the GT300 drivers said that PD was scanning Motegi not long ago. So fingers crossed.

The above few posts are precisely why we have a Car & Track Wishlist thread, folks.

Oh sorry, just a general statement. Won’t happen again.

If the update is next week, that means for the first time in a long time (I think) it's neither on the first or last weeks of the month

Thanks, but with all due respect isn't this also a thread for discussion on the latest news?
Not also, just is.

However, for the people wondering where the last two pages have gone, all the posts from the first silhouette Tweet post onwards discussing the update have now been moved to the indicated update discussion thread. As indicated.

Oh, I see. I didn't realise posts had been moved. I just interpreted it as you telling me to move threads, like talking here anymore was prohibited.

My mistake on the miscommunication. You may delete posts as you see appropriate

I don't think this update will contain a track, but rather the My First GT demo will. It'll get even people who have been playing GT7 for years to download it
