I wonder why there were no physics tweaks in the February update. The changes introduced in January made some cars behave really odd during cornering. With those changes many cars underwent a rather violent tendency to suddenly oversteer during cornering. It’s like they go from understeer to oversteer in an instant that almost sends them spiralling around their own axis. The strangest part is that it seems to affect many front-engined cars, as this trait is typically associated with MR or RR drivetrains.

Ever since the “new physics” in July 2024 it feels like PD has been fumbling to find a sweet spot for the physics. First car suspensions got weird, but that slowly got addressed over multiple subsequent updates. There’s still decent room for improvement in this area though. Then with the January 2025 update cars started to feel more stable under braking, but weight transfer got exaggerated overall. For example, a bone stock Mazda Roadster (ND) on sports hard tyres is a nightmare to drive through hairpins and tight turns with the most recent physics tweaks from January, but in reality the ND Roadster is celebrated for being easy and stable. That’s just one example.

One gets left with the impression that PD takes these physics adjustments too lightly. Global physics tweaks must affect different cars in different ways, right? The values originally assigned to each car were likely chosen to pair well with the global physics engine at the time. Then they tweak the global physics, and numerical values assigned to each car get thrown off course. The result is that some cars that once felt great suddenly start to misbehave, because PD seemingly doesn’t care to test every car when they come up with global physics changes. They appear to be chasing their own tail here. The irony is nothing needed fixing before July 2024, which was when cars started to jump into space as a result of the “new physics”. Their attempts to fix that then brought new problems to the table. They should never have touched the physics in the first place. Save that stuff for GT8 development.

Since the arrival of the Escort RS Cosworth, I've began to notice that the spokes of the OZ Leggenda wheel are placed way too deeper than on the actual wheel. Here's a car with it installed, for instance:

(V-Rally 2 Bonus Car (PS1 Ver.) by myself; version for non-widebody cars. For the widebody version, I placed another wheel instead.)

How the actual wheel looks from a comparable angle:

EDIT: Turns out this issue was already addressed here, though I am not sure if it had the same dish issue back in GT Sport.

At the end of the day, the lack of communication did not prevent them from delivering GT, GT2, GT3 and GT4. Sure that could be seen as an issue in our era, but that is definitely not the main problem.
The main problems were and is the lack of options & improvements from GT5 to GT7. Albeit GT5 can be improved with the GTEditor & GT6 can be improved with the Gt6 Spec II mode [or similar fan made versions].

They're not able to test physics changes on the whole car list.

I think PD needs to split the physics between road cars and race cars because they end up way over their heads

I know, which is why I said they should refrain from physics changes unless they are developing a new game and have time to test the full impact of their decisions.

Yeah, I initially brought it up in February 2022. The teaser trailer of the F-150 made me think we’d be able to change the offset in regards to the lip of the wheels. Didn’t expect PD to change the style of certain wheels.
Some wheels that should have a deeper lip, when fitted to certain cars wind up being flush. It’s a pain in the exhaust.

The Crew Motorfest is adding a Ford Puma Rally1 WRC car in their next season.

I mention this in a Gran Turismo forum because I believe it's the first time a Rally1 era WRC car has been licensed in a WRC-unofficial, non-mobile game. So the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 car via the TGR partnership is perhaps a little less of a pipe dream than it may have previously been when we (or at least I) thought WRC were keeping their recent cars exclusive.

Between the Nations Cup, Daily Race A and now the TT, it's clear that GT7 is mirroring the Super Formula race at Suzuka. So why not have something more for it? A full-length race with the real rules as a special event or something would be cool... Instead we just get the same old, same old, shoehorned into the same boring templates we get every week. You have a partnership with SF, use it!

Something that the Peugeot menu book made me realise. Despite GT7 using Peugeot's new logo in places like Brand Central, not one of their cars that we have in game uses it. None of them are new enough, even after 3 years since the game's launch.

Are there any Peugeot models wearing the new badge that are worth putting into the game? The Peugeot 9X8 could be interesting, but PD of today almost never includes racing prototypes that have no major wins on their curriculum.

The second generation Peugeot 208 GTi could also be interesting - except the car doesn’t exist because Peugeot appears to be prioritizing an electric variant of the 208 (yay!).

I really cannot think of any new Peugeot worthy of being in GT7. Going forward I think it’s only likely we’ll see older models returning like the 205 T16, 206 RC and 207 GTi.

I imagine that it’d be a fantastic replacement for the 86 Gr.B!

A little bit of nostalgia.

The BMW Z4 is among the cars I've used the most in GT4, especially this configuration: convertible in Hong Kong.

Really have to say the Z4 became one of my favorite cars, it handles so well, feels so well balanced and smooth, has a good amount of power but also not too much, it’s still a relatively light car for what it is, the overall package is just👌
And I wasn’t a big fan of the Z4 before, didn’t liked its looks and liked the Z3 and Z8, even the Z1, much better. But now I’m converted😀

PS: would be great if PD also fills in the gaps like they did with Silvia’s, Civics etc. and add the Z3 and Z1, and of course the 507 from the Datamined list, then we would’ve the whole family of Bavarian Roadsters!

Anyone else having Sport Mode issues? For me, the grid stays still while I can move freely.

confirmation of a new BOP before the official season, therefore potentially a new update!!

I've seen a lot of comments about BoP and I'd like to share my thoughts.

I think the MR was stronger than the FR because we only used hard tires in yesterday's Fuji race. The traction of the FR was already weak in S3.

And there will also be a new BoP before the official season, so please wait for it! 🙇‍♂️
