10 days... well Kaz...

The racing games that have been released recently indeed reminded me how much value for money we get with GT7.
There's Rennsport, a full price game where you have to pay up to $/€6 for liveries that don't even look that good. And that price is for a single livery and as far as I know they're only available for real cash. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
And PMR. Full price although the release version seems to still be in Beta. Will get more cars and tracks, but you either have to pay for DLCs or pay 30 bucks more to get the season 1 pass.

Now, liveries are free in GT7 and there are many amazing ones because there are so many talented folks making 'em. Imagine having to pay for liveries. I have some cars where I have 20+ liveries in my collection.
Or imagine paying for every new car and track. How many did we get for free over the last 3 years?

I often criticize GT7 and PD. And with reason. Because I love the game and want it to use it's full potential. But I indeed sometimes forget, how much fun I already got for the 60 bucks I spent.

Wasn't all roses at the start though. Hard to make big chunks of Credits. No car selling. Lack of players getting invites. Length of vehicle rotation in the dealerships. Uncompetitive AI(without Boost Weak). Engine swaps(which players didn't even know existed) not available. Problems for wheel users.

We'll see what three years and nine months adds next week, but it's taken a long time to get to this point.

Not to mention the pathetic states these games are in ATM. Super-glitchy, barely-functional, terrible AI and driving physics and so on. Both were hyped beyond-belief too, which makes the L's all-the-more ridiculous.

PD is the absolute, indisputable GOAT when it comes to delivering a practically glitch-free, polished product upon launch. Nobody can take that away from them. If nothing else it screams passion and pride in one's work.

Lack of race events, too. But I'd say it's gotten good enough now, especially with the Power Pack next week. Sure, it still isn't anywhere near GT4's number, but I'll take it.

I haven’t searched, but I think there were some slow down with rain settings. However, I agree, as far as car games that simulate some degree of realistic racing, GT7 has been pretty much plug & play.

For sure. If someone buys the game next week and after, they’ll have lots to do.

"Best fan engagement"?
Really? I mean aside from what they're doing with Spec III we don't even get development roadmaps.

The social media accounts have been posting a lot more general content lately though, so maybe it's more for that.

An update to this.

They won it.
But you know what. That fan festival thing they did in L.A. was pretty cool. Just a different fan engagement than the "communicating with the fans about the game" kind I'd normally associate the term with in this scenario.

What's stubborn about having a video with the 4th December advertised on it?
Nothing should be wrong about it. PD will confirm it when they can. They're not perfect either.

Honestly it's impressive how optimized and stable the engine is, pushing a stable 4k image at stable 60 fps with no crappy upscaling, TAA artifacts or framerate drops while pushing graphics like that. PMR legit looks like a PS3 game and is still struggling on high end hardware, Rennsport looks muddy and dirty with PS1 era draw distance in the rear view mirrors.

I'm glad they did that but it really just highlighted the fact that with the Playstation US HQ in California and the enthusiasts that also work there, it would be a no brainer they would have that kind of turnout.

+ add flawless and best in class by ease of use VR support.

GT7 really is impressive

Not disagreeing, just wanted to say that the game does use TAA, but you only really see it as a trail behind the car, even then it’s not really distracting imo. PSSR replaces it I believe on Pro if you turn it on.

Interesting, I think the higher the native resolution is the better TAA works. It becomes a mess when you're dealing with lower res like in some UE5 games which can drop to 720p in some cases.

It's a bit weird feeling with having a big update drop before the final live event of the year, even if it's happened before.
I don't know what they could possibly reveal, but one would think they'd save something big for the season finale.
Having something like just a VGT reveal following up from the huge Spec III update would kinda be underwhelming by comparison.

I'm still of the opinion that the event being hosted alongside the Fukuoka Mobility Show isn't a coincidence, and there's some kind of real life new car reveal happening there that will also be announced for the game at the same time.

Kaz at the end of the event:

"Thank you for watching everyone! Oh, by the way, I almost forgot. Gran Turismo World, our brand new open world driving simulator will be available February 2026. More infos coming soon, stay tuned!"

Hey,
it's have been a while since i visitied this forum.
But still playing the game.

I've got a particular question and don't actually know where to put it, if this is not the right place a mod may adjust it to the right one.
It's about some settings,

Does the brake balance matter if you're playing on BoP for tirewear?
The community i've joined says to put the brake balance to the max at rear end to reduce the tire wear.
But i've got the feeling for me it doesn't matter if i set it at +5 or -5 .
Am i wrong or does it really matter?
i'm playing on controller.
The most of the community i mentioned before are playing on steering wheel.

They organise races in championship form wich i participate.
For example

Monza 27 laps Early Morning
tirewear x4 fuel x4
Mercedes AMG GT3 '20
Daylap x6
Only adjustable settings are brakebalance and downforce.

i've tried it with no timelaps and no wind.
fuel and tirewear were both x4
8 laps with BB at -5 and 8 lpas with BB at +5
The tirewear seemed to be simular.

Put your BB opposite where the car naturally burns tires. For me I use the 458 GR.3 and the rears loose tread bad. My BB is always in the front unless it’s a turn I need better rotation on.
