Yeah, I trust GT7 will get the cars sooner rather than later; they're the only Hypercar we have right now :grumpy:

So there's only 1 Thursday left in January now.
We should be seeing Kaz posting the car silhouette teaser in the next few days. Then the update itself releasing on the 29th, if it follows the usual pattern.

The time for competitive folks has arrived, is OK after +3 years of cool cars(except for hybrid SUVs) to give them a good update😜

Presumably the Porsche is coming.

But my wait as a BMW fan looks set to continue...

The news of the first 2 show cars coming to the game is giving me pretty good hope to also see the M4 GT3 in the future though.
One assumes it would be added alongside the road car, like we saw with the Ferrari 296 & Subaru BRZ.
Could also potentially be paired with the M Hybrid V8, as in many other games those 2 cars tend to be added together as part of BMW's marketing strategy.
Though the M Hybrid V8 has been updated quite significantly this year, so not sure if GT Auto aero parts would be enough to cover the changes in a way similar to what they did for the Ferrari 296 & Audi R8 Evo.

PD needs to add in the GT3 legend that is the Viper GTS-R (Dodge or Chrysler, pick your flavor :P)

Random aside, but according to update 1.65, the next Hagerty pricing update will drop February 2026 :scared:

Does that mean the prices will change with this update or can we expect an update in February as well :dopey:

There will definitely be an update in February!

There's a couple places within GT4 that hint the Saleen S7R race car may have been planned to be in the game at one point:
  • The prize car for the Saleen one-make event is the Nike One 2022, which can also be won in the International B licence. This duplicate prize may hint to a different car being originally intended.
  • The Saleen S7 road car appears in Driving Mission 12 (3 lap battle @ Laguna Seca), where all other cars are race cars.
That's my theory anyway. Doesn't mean much given it's not in the game, but I find it interesting to think about.

GT6 even had licensing credits for the S7R.

The S7R + S1 GT4 would make Saleen eligible for the Manufacturers' Cup, but with one of the oldest competing Gr. 3's as the S7R was built to FIA GT1/GTS standards.

Pretty cool timing for them to add a WTC 800 at Mount Panorama, with the real life Bathurst 12H not too far off.

Personal opinion, but I think I'd have preferred if one of the race cars was saved for February, so that this update was a bit more rounded for the broader community. Plus it would spread out the race car content a bit, given we don't typically get them that often.
  • 1x low/medium-end road car.
  • 1x medium/high-end road car.
  • 1x race/rally car.
That would be my ideal structure for 3-car updates, so there's a higher likelihood for each community to have at least 1 car they like.
Even as a primarily motorsport fan, while having 2 race cars is great for me, it isn't that good of an overall balance for the update. It's missing some kind of low/medium-end road car.

On a side note, this video just dropped.

I agree with you and in the same way of thinking, I would have preferred to have only Yas Marina as a new track with SPEC III, and CGV later, like march 2026.

Odd but interesting trend: Every January update has had exactly two cars that had been officially announced to be coming to the series beforehand:
  • 2024: Genesis and Bulgari VGTs (Jimny unannounced)
  • 2025: Ioniq 5 N and F3500-A (Civic and C-HR unannounced)
  • 2026: Elantra N TC and SU7 Ultra (992 GT3 R unnanounced)
One of which has always been a Hyundai Group car as well, although that is almost certainly just coincidence.

Not sure if Black & white Photography or the opening of a compelling crime drama.
