With the new 911 GT3 R coming for GR3 there will surely have to be an update to some of the other GR3 cars otherwise people will just use the Ferrari 296 GT3 and Porsche 911 GT3 R.

Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3
Corvette C8R (GTD Pro)
McLaren 720S GT3
Honda/Acura NSX GT3 Evo22
BMW M4 GT3
Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo
Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2

The manufactures won't want their cars being left behind in the game surely!

No point going for the Huracán Evo 2 when it's being replaced by an all-new Lamborghini model, the Temerario, making its debut at the Sebring 12H in March.
The Honda is still similar enough to the one we already have for there not to be much of a reason to update it.
And we already have the latest Mercedes.

But the others would be neat.
Both the Chevrolet & Aston Martin already have road car versions in the game, and the BMW keeps on appearing at live events as a show car.
The McLaren is completely off the radar as far as existing connections to GT though, but that doesn't mean it's impossible.

I wonder if the BMW M4 GT3 will appear with the road car, or a month or two after, as PD seems to like adding the race car with/after the road car. That also opens up potential Chevy and Aston.

Personally I'd be more excited for them to finally get around to adding the GT300 cars in the datamined list. GT7 is sorely lacking purpose built GT300 cars.

Also about the Temerario I doubt we'll see that until next year at the earliest. It's too new, and unless PD got ahold of one early it would take at least the requisite 9 months or so to properly model it, plus the need to model the road variant, for reasons stated above.

Probability check:
  • The Aston Martin DESERPATELY needs an update, as I believe it's the oldest GT3 on offer (however, it seems to have raced with factory support until 2018/2019, so it's not that old (TFW 7 years in Gran Turismo terms is "not that old")). We do have the road-going Vantage, so, just like the Porsche that just got added, maybe we'll see it sooner rather than later.
  • Depends on what relationship PD has with Pratt & Miller. They could always do a C8 Gr.3 if things are still sour between them (unlikely, but P&M are weird as hell about sharing their data), but the Callaway C7.R is still raced today.
  • Outdated like the Aston. To be frank, we haven't had ANY McLarens added since launch (if you don't count the MP4/4).
  • Kinda sucks that the NSX GT3 launched at the same time as GT Sport, so PD had to create something in order to launch GT Sport with a proper Gr.3/4 for Honda. They had the Acura NSX GT3 during their GT Sport launch event, but never changed the model afterwards. Now that the Evo22 and Evo25 variants exists, it would be nice, but that ship probably sailed ten years ago.
  • Funny that PD added the 992 first, even if the M4 was at GTWS events first.
  • Is that not in the game already?
  • Would be nice if PD added Evo parts to the Huracan; sad it's this late because it's due to be replaced this year by the Temerario

Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 - Already in Road car form, within realm of possibility
Corvette C8R (GTD Pro) - Road car form is in the game, but Pratt & Miller will continue to be Pratt & Miller, perhaps PD could do their take on it like they did for the C7
McLaren 720S GT3 - Wouldn't hold my breath on it anytime soon
Honda/Acura NSX GT3 Evo22 - Current fantasy version is still good enough, if they dared to add GT Auto pieces for it to resemble it more closely, that'd be more than enough
BMW M4 GT3 - Likely as it has appeared on live events quite a few times
Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo - Base model still good enough
Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo 2 - I'd rather have them skip it and do the Temerario

Hello,

I've been away from GT7 for a while, but I'm back today with a PlayStation 5 Pro. Because they killed FM, I didn't have many options left, and GT is still GT, so I'll stick with it....

I was wondering, is there a bug or something right now that makes cars in the garage look really bad? There seems to be something wrong with the rims in particular. If I spray them or something, it seems to be fine. So, only in the garages and car dealership.

I have the game set to Raytracing/60fps with PSSR disabled. I understand that's the best mode?

Thx

Turn off raytracing and see if there is a visual difference. Raytracing is weak in this generation of consoles, including the Pro.

The Temerario would be too new, I went with the Corvette C8 R because the Corvette Z06 GT3 R would be too new being 2023, there needs to be a car from the USA maybe the Ford Mustang GT3/D

Even if they try to use BoP would it work really now with two newer GR3 cars, not wanting to go off on a tangent but with the PS6 being pushed back they HAVE to keep content coming for GT7 and also the other manufactures are not going to be best pleased as they seem to be involved with the game when they only have old cars and a couple of others have new ones, I don't suppose this comes into the PR aspect but they would want younger people to be able to use the cars and hopefully maybe in the future they will buy a car from the manufacture, idk how much things cost for games but the money it would cost to put in a BWM M4 GT3 if BWM were to say to Poly here's the money, it would be less than money from down behind the sofa £10k maybe, it's zero cost to them.

idk it just seems silly not to have a few more to balance the GR3 category out, six cars in total.

I really struggle to see manufacturers losing sleep because their cars are outdated on a videogame.

I mean GT8 wouldn't really be super far off, so it'll likely come out by Holidays of 27 or Q1-Q2 of 28. Plus they'll likely want to put one more GT game out for the PS5 before moving on to the PS6 and in which case GT8 will get a PS6 port, but that's just my thinking and things could change within this timeframe.

EDIT: I also firmly believe PD hasn't really pushed the PS5 to it's absolute limit and also doesn't help that they also have to do work with the PS4 which is a 13 year old console at this point, so that's why I believe GT8 will come out and start out on the PS5.

off on a tangent but with the PS6 being pushed back they HAVE to keep content coming for GT7.
The PS6 looking likely to be delayed due to the whole RAM shortage situation is an interesting point.
If GT8 was intended to be a launch PS6 title, then that may be delayed too, and we might see plans shift a bit with what content Polyphony prioritise in development.
Cars that may have been intended for GT8 launch could be brought forward to GT7.

Literally already exists (Even if the name is slightly different)

Unpopular opinion but...

BMW M4 GT3
BMW M8 GTE

with how iracing who also had trouble with PM got the c8r and then the z06 GT3r I think there's a good chance PD could get the current car plus PM got bought by Oshkosh so maybe there was a restructuring and then there's the vgt that could their foot in the door with GM to get it

Either of those BMW race cars would put BMW as the king of the Gr.3s. Right now, they’re tied with Lexus at five apiece. ;)

If we do get the M4 GT3, we gotta at least get the road going version too.
You'll be happy to know that multiple post-game GR.3 additions either had their road counterparts already in the game or came with them simultaneously so its a possibility (And would break the previous trend of including BMW's GT cars while not having their road counterparts unless its the M3)

The Z4 eventually arrived too, albeit in an older roadster form as oppose to the newer coupé.
The M6 doesn't have any road car equivalent in-game though.

It’s weird that GT Sport didn’t have the M6 road car with the way they had variants of models from road car->Gr.3 Road car(some models)->Gr.4->Gr.3 and for Nissan Gr.1 “GT-R”.
I don’t think anyone would have been mad if PD added road and race variants at the same time, if that meant putting off a car or two for a next update.

I mean, did PD really have to add the Elantra N first, knowing they were adding the ELNTRA N TC next? Did they literally have to add a car when it is done, as Kaz said they do in a past interview? Would it have made a difference in marketing to add both Hyundais together or separate?

Raytracing is weak in this generation of consoles, including the Pro.
...I wouldn't say that, honestly. I've played plenty of games this gen that have good-to-great RT, including Assassin's Creed Shadows. Especially on the Pro.

It's just that PD's implementation of it is rather noisy, leading to the visual mess in the garage and in GT Auto. Even so, though, outside of those areas, the RT reflections look good enough. Better than Forza's at least.

I agree that I made a generalization, and yes, many console games have good, but limited, RT implementations. Global illumination for AC Shadows, Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, and The Witcher 3, to name a few, but it's always at the expense of something, whether resolution, performance or texture quality.

Maybe I been spoiled a bit by my RTX card (4070 Super) that is stronger for RT than the consoles, but even then, I use that feature sparingly. And in the case of FM, with the latest DLSS upscaling models, its RTGI/reflections at decent frame rates are convincingly superior to what the Series X can do (I own one too).

Yes, the problem of RT in GT7 is mainly noise, but again, its underlying Radeon technology would not be enough to deploy ray reconstruction, and even that would come at a framerate performance cost. In any case the traditional lighting/reflections of GT are superior to what RT can provide now, let's see when PS6 comes around.

Wait, did Kaz really say that? Because wouldn't that suggest they have 0 cars they're keeping under wraps for GT8? :odd:

I mean, maybe it's fine because the PS6 won't come out for another million years at this rate

Yeah, obviously. And of course PC hardware is always going to be ahead, so...

Me, though, I don't mind playing at 30fps for RT-intensive games.

Thing is, I'm talking exact matching cars. The 2001 BMW M3 GTR had its matching E46 Road Counterpart as did the BMW M3 GT2 with its E92 Counterpart in previous games. The Z4 GT3? No sight of its matching E89 Road car. Likewise, the M6 you mention does not have its matching F12 Road car to go along with it. If PD lives up to the current pattern its shown with previous GT3 cars for GT7, The M4 GT3 would be the first BMW GT car to have its matching Road going counterpart (The current G82 Model) without being the M3.
