Just because they scanned the circuit doesn't mean they're actively working on modeling it.

Wasn't someone on this forum able to date when they scanned Yas Marina and CGV based on certain trackside elements present? I can't find the post but while Yas Marina was quite recent, CGV was a few years ago (I want to say 2021-2022).

It's likely to be 2020 or before for CGV, as in the CGV Scapes, part of the F1 pit equipment was pink like the Racing Point team, who became Aston Martin from 2021 onwards. Scapes don't always mean the date which they captured the track, I imagine, but it does make sense if possible to do both at the same time and avoid the cost of a second trip.
Yes, by what's seen at track and periphery can easily date when the track was scanned for images and layout. For example at the Circuit Le Sarthe, the ferris wheel has only been inside the track perimeter one year (think it was 2019) all other years its been outside the track perimeter. This is from my watching many replays of Le Mans 24hr races on YT. The ferris wheel is inside perimeter on our GT7 version of the track.

Does this resurfacing include repairing the oval track to make it suitable for high-speed racing?
Neither Indycar nor NASCAR, the only two prime racing series racing on ovals, has shown any interest in using the track. I know NASCAR recently did its first international race in Mexico, at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, but they used the road course instead of that track's oval, so I'd assume that series is fine with going to an international road course (which is a shame personally). As a result, I can't imagine them doing anything with the oval until it practically falls apart, because Honda has no incentive to fix it.

I think Honda's been using it for storage lately, but I can't imagine they'd let it exist in disrepair when the main track is putting on racing.

NASCAR did use the Motegi Speedway back in the 80's or 90's IIRC. I think it was only one time, though.

That's a fair point. It would be a bit of an eyesore for the freshly-repaved road course to still have a derelict oval in the background.
Hope that if they choose to do something about that, it isn't demolishing the oval altogether though...

Plus like I mentioned in my earlier post, IndyCar had been considering a return to Motegi as part of a future international expansion. Whether that actually happens is perhaps another matter.

If Motegi returns without the oval, I will be a bit disappointed, as the addition of both a road course and new oval track in one bundle is what makes it so appealing, considering I don't see any other real Oval tracks making the roster (other than Indianapolis of course) and considering how niche oval racing is and how much GT7 ignores it outside of beginner events.

It's always made a chuckle when a game includes ovals/oval cars, and only like 3 tracks to race them on. I get its niche, but similar to how GT treats rally, either full commit, or reallocate those resources elsewhere.

Though if we can't get the Motegi oval, I'll take the return of Super Speedway instead.

Would it be the GT2 version, or GT3? Personally, I like GT2's with the covered turn.

Did someone watched the SoP ? Apparently lots of games announced, but I haven't read anything regarding PSSR or any technical announcement.

Watched it. Worth noting that even though it was the longest SOP ever, PSVR2 wasn’t mentioned exactly 0 times.

Nothing about PSSR I find less surprising. That’s more like a blog post imo.

I have the idea that becoming closer and closer to the launch of Forza Horizon 6, we will see more and more interesting adds to the GT7.

A new circuit and more GT3 updated cars could be an answer to compete and reduce hype on the competition.

When have PD ever cared about or reacted to another racing game being released? That’s a fan thing.

I'd love to see how adding GT3 cars is supposed to help the game compete with an open-world game focused on tuning and customising road cars.

FH6 and GT7 are apples to oranges.

Both serve different audiences and both are different genres of racing games.

I’m sympathetic to the train of thought that FH6 will play into PD’s thought process going forward more than most other racing games would. If nothing else, it’s strong competition for being the default home for Japanese brands that have defaulted to PD for a while now. Losing out on the GR GT must sting a bit.

Do I think that means they will “counter program” FH6’s launch? Definitely not, it’s not how PD work, and I also think it undersells just how long content takes for them to make; they aren’t that agile to just switch things up on a whim like that.

Losing out on the GR GT
There's... many reasons why this is an odd thing to say.

Firstly, a car being in one game doesn't (and more so these days as car PRs wise up) preclude it being in any others. GT hasn't lost out just because it'll be in FH6.

Additionally, there's a potential three more GT7 updates (actually, any number is possible, but three is a reasonable maximum) before FH6 launches. We don't know the contents of any of them, so GT might still get this car first.

I say "this car" for good reason: the FH6 cover car isn't the GR GT. It's the GR GT Prototype, a pre-production car revealed late last year that could largely represent the final product (due in 2027) but which is still subject to change.

It's like the dose of premature suggestination that some in our Suggestions forum suffer from in leaping to suggest cars the instant they are revealed, and its own formbook with the big fuss over the Valhalla in FH5 - although PG has labelled it correctly (as, to be fair, it did with the Valhalla Concept; the Valhalla never appeared), and it's other people who are getting it wrong.

To sum up, that isn't the GR GT, and its appearance in FH6 and on its cover in four months' time has no implications on its appearance in GT either in the interim or at any other time.

I don’t think that, if we get this track, we would get a refurbished oval with it. Just take monza for instance. We only have the current f1 track and not the full layout with the oval despite being shown on the circuit logo.

True! I mean we are talking about video games after all…not like either of those games are used as standards for sims in auto sports teams

I think 2027 maybe at the end.
I agree. PD did do the 25th Anniversary ahead of time. Although, the game was supposedly to be released a year earlier, but got “delayed” due to the old COVID ploy.
I can’t see the 30th anniversary celebrated in GT7. Next year with a GT8 or Gran Turismo 30th ANNIVERSARY stamp seems right.

People who are constantly looking to the next game before it's even revealed will probably end up disappointed with GT8 anyway, then start wanting GT9.
A new game arriving doesn't suddenly mean all complaints & wishlists will be addressed, with no drawbacks or issues.

GT8 will arrive at some point in the long-term future, but right now I'm overall pretty happy with the state of GT7, and still have short-term content updates to look forward to.

If 2027, then it's likely holidays 27, but spring to summer 28 will be the most likely imo
I was thinking on that because its gt 30
Years anniversary.even through we just got spec lll and power pack, it feels like its time for a new game soon. Can really feel gt7 is getting a bit stale. And the updates is not doing enough to keep it fresh in my opinion.

But i am ok waiting, we have resident evil reqium, forza horizon 6 and gta 6 coming this year

So it's great that Igor Fraga has moved up to the GT500 class of Super GT, but the GT300 team we got a couple Lexus RC F liveries of while he was there (Anest Iwata Racing) has just announced a switch to the Nissan Z.

Could've been a cool rival to the Subaru BRZ as the only other JAF GT300 car. But who knows, maybe it could show up in a year or 2 if Polyphony are still on good terms with the team.

Plus it's difficult to imagine they created a "GT300" car type tag if there was only ever going to be 1 car.
