I wonder what level il be finding myself after the update. Curious what's max level also, maybe 100?

What do you guys think? Will we reach the higher collector level restrospectively? How many collector levels will they add?
Haha funny how we posted same thing at sane time.

About first question I guess yes? I mean it have to be. You gonna tell me I'm getting no XP for all +10 millions legendary cars I bought lol

Your collector score is tracked even after the current level cap so it almost certainly will update to the appropriate new level.

We don't know what the new limit is, but I suspect that there'll be at least seven due to the suggestion that 51 will award you an unlimited Porsche Invitation - thus six more for the six other brands. I'd guess at 75 (128m credits) or 100 (233m credits).

Personally I feel that they should have tied the invitations to collector levels from the jump.

Oh there's dozens of ways Invitations could have been made better in the first place. We covered a bunch here...

... but at least it's being changed now.

I don't really need much invitations at this point tbh, except Bugatti since I only bought 1 Veyron. But I'm pretty much done with others, bought moat of them in all colors and others have few doubles. But it's nice invitations will be more accessible, I'm definitely getting few more Bugatti Veyron to try some tune excited for that

Oh nice thanks

5. Xiaomi Su7 Ultra?
6. Some SUV?

Just left 2 spaces
Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is a safe bet. I think the other three will be a station wagon like Audi RS6, another new Gr. 3 car (BMW M4 GT3 or Porsche 911 GT3 R) and a very old car (Bugatti Type 35?).

On level of graphics and car models, the competition is scarce. How about rewarding the community, for selling 100M copies, with what they really ask for?
B-SPEC
Career mode
Proper payouts
Endurance events
Qualifying sessions
The original GT tracks from past series

It really is not that difficult to grasp.
I’m not “struggling” to grasp your point - I just disagree.

What the “community” wants cannot be defined. Unless you survey every single player how can they possibly know? I’m pretty regular on these forums and I don’t see post after post about qualifying?

And even if they could - you’d likely see in the data exactly like you would with any survey. There’s a group who want X, there’s another group who want Y, there’s a tiny vocal group that want Z and many sub groups that span each other. The fact of the matter is, it would be impossible to deliver a game that everyone/all groups think is perfect.

Practical example - the addition of more GT3 cars would do absolutely zero to increase my enjoyment of the game.

What would is removing the pit stop animation and simulating it instead - is this forum crying out with users asking for this?

Fairly obvious no? A new set of eyes, fresh ideas, evolve the series potentially?
Right, "potentially evolve the series". Probably in the direction of something that isn't what Gran Turismo is known for.... That seems amazing!!! (s)

We know how PD works under Kaz. If someone were to take over his position, who knows what would become of Gran Turismo and its identity. Even with its problems, GT7 is still a Gran Turismo game.

BTW:

YasMarina + Night + VR 😮
What about a 296 GT3 onboard lap just to taste what is coming?

Still shocked that even after all the leaks and hope we’re finally getting my home Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, as living in Montreal all my life there’s one thing I always wish for was to have a 24 hour race at the circuit. I really hope Gran Turismo gives us a night version with the full dynamic weather. Montreal is known to always throw some good rain races in F1 so let’s hope it happens.
Your home circuit together with Imola are my favourite F1 tracks so Im really excited about this.
Dynamic weather is a must for Montreal so fingers crossed for this feature.
For multiplayer, I can see turn 1 and the last chicane before the wall of champions transforming into a bloodbath similar to Monza

As a final commentary (not aimed at anyone in particular) I feel really sad for the people who can´t enjoy or get hyped for what is coming. Obviously everyone is entilted to have their opinions, I just feel sad for them not being half as happy as I am for december.
It may sound a bit stupid, but I feel like a child waiting for christmas presents and Im a grown adult who lived more than 40 winters :D

Well, an alternative way to gauge what the 'community' wants is through sales data.

If GT7 offered features that the public didn't appreciate, then it wouldn't sell, and from the looks of it, GT7 is the best-selling game in the series to date. It continues to be a preeminent title at a time when driving games are no longer the benchmark they once were, due to a shift in the market's offerings and dynamics.

This is a market that is seeing how Forza Motorsport or Need for Speed are fading towards irrelevance, and where the more purist, niche simulators are orders of magnitude below GT's audience.

Based on Gran Turismo's continued relevance in sales, I'd argue it's because it offers what the 'community' wants, and I find that theory more well-founded than the vague idea that a majority of the series' players want a return of, for example, the B-Spec mode.

I see at least some people are having a similar, rational reaction to the update as I did lol When you look at it and break it down, it's not as big or impactful of an update as a "Spec III" should be, especially considering there will likely be no updates for Oct & Nov. But again, more could be revealed, though I think unlikely. Often the smaller "Other" fixes and features will have more meaningful impact across the game.

Was thinking about the tracks since last night and I can at least say Yas Marina will look very cool with GT7s impressive lighting and interior views at night. I look forward to seeing that. Why I lack pure excitement for these sort've tracks is they're rather flat and feel like you're driving around a giant parking lot with lines and rumble strips. Silverstone, Yas Marina, COTA to an extent. Huge expanses of asphalt run off and not much scenery, terrain, or elevation change around. Montreal circuit is a decent addition. And anything real is better than another Rally course or bad fictional track.

Also as I saw the Spec II list of update cars posted as a reminder, that was a great set of cars. That's what we need. As is though, I feel like GT7 is deep in car debt and just adding 1 or 2 good cars every couple months isn't making enough of a dent. We just had a nice group of cars come through my area and a few remind me of more obvious stuff we don't have:

That's not to say I'm dying to have more super cars in the game (I love the way the 2019 935 looks though)-- I'd almost never use them like I never use the ones currently in the game, but I'd rather have those than a VGT, EV, or modern mass market SUV. And if the option is them or nothing (which I find insane to believe), then give me nothing lol

Edit: Oh and I will be kinda disappointed if the Weekly Challenges do end up like that. At least with 5 races, I can usually find at least 2 or 3 I want to do and leave the rest. If it's cutting those down and mixing in some of the corny Mission style events then.. eh. That doesn't seem particularly fun. More of a side-grade than an upgrade.

So yea, I remain measured in my expectations. I know people are poo-pooing my post(s) and think I (and others) are being overly negative but yea, we'll see how people feel when the car list is revealed and a month or two after the update. To those who actually like Yas Marina, Montreal, and are particularly interested in F1/GT3.. Then you'll have plenty of fun.

Just bring this game to pc already...... Shame

So what do you say? You just wanna say that that you dont want GT7 on pc whitout any reason?
How about you stay on the PC, GT is and always will be PlayStation...that is reason enough to me.
But upon closer inspection, it's not worthy of a Spec 3. A long-overdue higher level cap, just one new mechanic, the data logger, and the removal of a really annoying feature (car invitations).
The rest is included in the regular updates.

I hope that wasn't an attempt to convince me.

- The level increase should have happened in 2023.

- The data logger was already there in GT 5 or 6 and isn't necessarily an added value.

- Sorry, but removing a built-in bug like "Invitations to Purchase" doesn't exactly make me happy. I simply expect something like that, and it should have happened much earlier. Who hasn't experienced getting that stupid invitation with a 5* ticket, even though they already had the car?

- The weekly races could have been changed without much fuss. They're just more special races. Where is the possibility of running them permanently as brand races, e.g., under the missions?

- The seasonal races could be interesting. But PD is PD. So we'll have to wait and see. No reason for hype.
and already not even 24 hours since this dropped and we have complaints....
Finally, someone making sense. This is not a spec III release at all. I too stated that GT4 is the GOAT of the Turismo series.

That just isn't what would happen though.

If Kaz were to "be replaced" (won't happen), I can guarantee whoever takes his place won't care to "evolve" the series in any way beyond turning it into another clone of Forza Horizon or iRacing... which would be a fate worse than death.

I just saw this news and I'm quite excited about it. At first glance, the highlights are great, the tracks for me are awesome. I don't play the F1 games so Yas Marina and Circuit Villeneuve (being that I'm in Canada too) for are most welcomed addition. It's all landing in December when I will be on a 3 weeks staycation too... I'd say that some early Christmas presents! I can't wait! 😁😆

If they raised the collector levels, I'm guessing there will be a lot more cars coming up in the future. Hopefully more races and weekly challenges that pays lot more credit.

One thing that flew over my head until now that i reread it:
"New Menu Book Seasonal Menu"

Could that be a menu book featuring previous events we seen on the weeklies? Finally a way to permanently add them into the game?

I think that sells the people closest to his position short somewhat. While I doubt they'd be 1:1 with his ideas, they've been there long enough to know the core well enough.

The difference, I think, is that Yamauchi is so established, so experienced, and so senior that he can do what he likes for the most part and not always yield to the more corporate values of PlayStation Studios and SIE bosses (although we do still get some of the tentacles from above). Whomever replaces him won't necessarily have the ability to push back.

Man, I pray for it.

I've said it many times, but I've missed these types of cars hard since GT2. I'd love to see the Subarus, Mugens, etc. back.

Right now, we only have the Volvo.

Hopefully, we'll have more in the future.

Things rarely carry over from one GT game to the next, and who even knows at this point whether GT8 will have Collector Levels.

Your collector score is tracked even after the current level cap so it almost certainly will update to the appropriate new level.

Various Collector Levels unlocked Driving Gear items, Missions, areas of the Tuning Shop, some post-launch circuits, and add a gate to the Bonus Menu Books. Level 50 also unlocks buyable engine swaps.
Do you happen to have the actual stats of how collectors level affects the daily marathon ticket odds? I.e. higher levels make 4 star tickets more likely, and you won't get 1 and 2 star tickets anymore. But what are the actual cutoffs, and do the odds of each type of ticket change fluently as the collector level increases?

Just curious to see if we can extrapolate from that to the new higher levels.

I figure that if anyone has this, it's the guy who wrote the literal book on GT 😂

The Xiaomi seems very likely given PD’s recent post.

I think the Fiat Panda could very well be one of the remaining cars. It’s another car we know is coming.

The remaining two cars… the BMW M4 GT3 seems likely to come soon given its conspicuous appearance at the last event. I also think we’re due for a classic race car. This could be the Bugatti type 37a or Amemiya RX-7 from the datamine.
