I feel like assuming an update was about to happen right before the tape-delayed race (where the supposed trailer for said content was first shown) was expecting abit too much. Why throw away what effectively would be an incentive to watch for those not necessarily in the know?

I mean surely it's only the 4 cars right, I think if we were to get anything more then Kaz would have referred to it as a "big update"? And I don't think a trailer with just the cars that we already know is that appealing compared to, say, the Eiger update trailer.

Sure its only 4 cars and potentially not much else but according to some people that attended it, an actual trailer for the upcoming content is actually shown in said event. So the fact that there is, at least so far, no maintenance notification suggests to me that they want to have a similar effect that the Trailer in Milan did (Even if the content is different and the event is not live). Again, I suggest this is primarily to get the people who aren't necessarily having their ears on the pulse like you or I, otherwise why bother at all.

One time - and it has only happened once - Yamauchi tweeted the silhouettes out after the update

I'm guessing it's the one with the Škoda VGT, Chevy Chevelle and Ah fee fee fee fee prototype.

That update was also a milestone update where GT7 reached 500 cars.

I believe it was added in a post-launch Forza Horizon 5 update, but yeah nothing besides that. Would be nice to have for sure, though I'm partial to an i20 N for some lower-end hot hatch racing. :sly:

Yep, the Kona N was added as a playlist car in FH5 and It's atm the only apperance in Videogames of this CUV.
Hyundai have now a huge focus in videogames and simulators, but Seems no One have put the 1st ever Hyundai made in a videogame: the Pony.
Or there's a videogame Who have this One? Maybe a mobile One from Korea? 🤔

snc
Turns out the leaker knew the update update date better than Kaz 😭
As I mentioned, Mario was covered by Volt, whose video last Saturday mentioned this.
I spoke to him yesterday, he said a GOAT driver let him know about things, but passed up on the apparent winners of the competitions if it was prerecorded as he wanted to find out himself...

Yeah, it's in a couple of mobile games: https://www.igcd.net/search.php?title=Hyundai+Pony

You know something, right? 🤔 :D

Oh dear, I forgotten that

Yeah, Unc might need one of those "Do not post until" reminders.

tell me GIF

I mean, not like we’ll tell anybody.

Edit: I do wonder if we’ll see new wheels to fit the theme of the Toyotas, seeing as drifting is such a niche sport with only one drift car in the game.

In this you can’t write it in both way. Lets just say I don’t expect it before the launch of the Ps6.
Even then, knowing PD it will take them at least two years to release a game that they announce. So there’s not going to be GT8 until at least 2028…

They really didn't. When the rear wing was added to it there was a lot more done, including tyre widths, weight distribution and almost the entire bodywork. The 2024 version is basically a whole different car so the wingless option in GT Auto just wouldn't be right.
I'm not gonna lie, I think they should've done it anyway. The car probably wouldn't drive very well but I think it would be good for the option, even if it's not accurate.

Looks like my initial suspicion that the update would be coming on the 20th has born fruit 😄 Since 9th August was the start of the week (at least in the UK) it made sense. The GWS event on Friday also hinted at a 20th release and not 14th. Still, pretty sly from Kaz 😉

It's the start of the week in Japan as well, but it remains the case that this is the first time I can recall that Yamauchi has tweeted "next week" on a Sunday and it hasn't been in the four days that followed... I gave three examples of exactly that in my post.

I think everyone thought that the GTWS event would be used for a trailer for the update, which is why the timing of the Tweet was a surprise.

It was a mistake from Yamauchi. He has schealuded the post.

It's called the weekend for a reason... some calendars might start with a Sunday, but when was the last time anyone referred to it as the start of the week... sneaky lil 🤬

The weekend is Friday and Saturday in some cultures
