hey guys first time poster, long time lurker sorry if its a repost just got excited that the idea of this, check it out!

this is fake but it gives a good example of what it could look like and if it does im so freakin' IN!

For a mock-up, that looks excellent and pretty much what I reckon a GT5 dynamic theme will look like 👍 And I love the way they have used alba's theme as the basic background (and alba, you will be pleased to note that the guy posts a link to your theme in the info section of the YouTube video!). Is this perhaps your next challenge, alba? 💡

Would be awesome if the dynamic theme could pull data from your GT5 save so it displays cars you have in your garage.

But... I doubt we'll be seeing dynamic themes THAT sophisticated...

I'll take any challenge on the way! I just need to contact Kaz's official translator, see if he can hook me up with stuff, you know how it's done! :D

SkaterFu dude actually dectrypted the new .p3t files and it seems the dynamic backgrounds aren't internal stuff but external and we'll see what happens in the homebrew scene but I'm always on the edge if anything gets release to improve or add anything to themes I'll be the first to jump on it.

The problem is he linked the 2007 version of it instead of the direct link to the latest one so :P

I was pretty bummed by the Wipeout theme that's currently on the Euro store for free; maybe it was rushed or there is a very very limited amount of resources available - but there wern't very good textures on there, with horrible aliasing - and the animation was maybe less than a minute in lenght. I doubt they can pull anything off that looks decent - unless it's a prerendered movieclip

What do u exaclty mean by fake? not official?

btw where can i get it? I think it looks great, better than the prologue one that i currently have...

EDIT: ok I watched the full video... Adobe After Effects is the answer

If that's the case, then I just want sony to let me use a saved video file in my ps3's hdd and use that as my background, similar to how we can use any of our saved pictures as a wallpaper. This way, I can save my GT5P replay, record, save, and use it as a dynamic background.

In the older ps3 firmware, you could watch videos and press the ps button to show the xmb, while the video in the background is still playing... so it doesn't totally sound unreasonable does it?

Thats not bad. The music is a bit naff though. I would rather se a car blasting around a track though. I got the free theme on thursday and it blows. But its better than a static background. It would be nice to use one of my own videos in the background though. But if that theme go put out there I would love to use it once there was one without the music on it. Maybe put some car sounds in it for when you move the ucons.

Can you make your own Dynamic themes? Also how big is the limit, would love to see a some kind or cool FUJI lap time

No you cant cuz there is no program for dynamic themes

Too bad, I would love PD to make some dynamic themes. They should come to GT planet and create a POLL with diffrent kind of ideas so people vote for top 3.

There needs to be a dynamic theme builder in GT5.

Choose your car, choose the venue, and it exports to the XMB. It would be simple actually.

That sounds awesome, but if only there is a in game movie editor. It is allready confirmed you can transfer movies to Youtube, so my guess you can save replays to HDD and watch them under Videos, I hope. But even simple editor would be awesome with custom camera angles and free cam mode.

I'm sure there will be a dynamic theme for GT5 but it won't be as comprehensive as that video. At most it will be a car turning 360 with a simple background, won't be a change of camera angles and such. I think the biggest dynamic theme I have seen is about 8000 kb, and there wasn't much going on in that.
