Welcome to GTPlanet, Sum! I'm going to move your thread into a more appropriate forum. To answer your question, the chance of any GT game coming to the PC is pretty much zero.

Yep, Gran Turismo will never feature on the PC.

As said so by Kazunori Yamauchi himself.

I was freaking out just a second ago 'cause I read somewhere that they are working on it! :

http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=1846 !!!

Also found this French article saying something about it :

http://www.gamekult.com/tout/jeux/fiche.html?cjeu=J000017326&nopub=1&temp=542406200362122144

But then I found quite a few articles saying that it is just a rumour :

http://www.overgame.com/page/17156.htm (also in French, but u get the point).

I'm back in reality right now and don't believe we'll ever see a PC version (atleast not in the near future).

grtz

Its very suspect to see how only the French seem to have info on the PC version! They really believe anything you tell them ...

I'd be nice to see Gran Turismo on the PC. I prefer PC versions over other versions. Just think of adding Lamborghinis and such into Gran Turismo...

I don't know why Polyphony doesn't want to make a PC version. They'd probably make a killing out of it. After all, I have a bunch of friends that have good computers but no PS2. I think the main reason PD probably wouldn't make a PC version is software piracy.

If you wanted to you can get bleem and run Gran turismo 1 & 2 on your computer(the PSX versions). But I've never really tried it so I don't know how good the quality would be. But I did have bleem for Dreacmast(gran turismo 2) and it made the graphics a lot smoother.

I wonder how much Sony has to pay (or how it really works ?) PD for keeping Gran Turismo on playstation only.. I mean today GT is a title that almost on it's own can motivate someone to buy the console..

/D

GT for PC would be nice, but it's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEND. It's already been said before.

Yeah, so what you can play GT on an emulator? It still has the crappy 16-bit sound, low res textures, and low polygon count.

Polyphony is a 1st party developer, kinda like how Rare was to Nintendo. Currently, Polyphony is a PS2 only developer.

Also, why would Sony want to put out one of its best selling Playstation games on a different platform besides Playstation? Sony wants to milk PS2 as hard as it can, so GT is going to stay on Playstation, which equals more profit.

.
But for those who only have those games(GT1 and 2) or don't have a ps1 or 2 it would be nice to have instead of buying a PSX(unless you plan on buying more games).

In PSX emus (like Bleem) all 3D objects are in high res, but textures are not, so it looks kind a wird IMO, but still much better than on PSX and runs much smoother.
I didn't try antianalising though...

A bit off topic but.........do you think PD would ever release a cut down version of GT4 for the PSX?.......They sometimes do this, FIFA 2003 is an example, and so is WRC 2 Extreme.....released on both systems, I know it would not be graphically amazing......but it could be simple and fun and also have the portability of the PS one........

Yes, GT4 on PC sucks. I don't want to buy a new computer with every GT!!! Everybody knows, that you always need to have a Top-Performance Computer for playing the latest Games - e.g. Doom III, Half-Life 2, etc...
Computer-Games are always programmed to the max., PS2-Games are always programmed to the available possibilities - so, always playable.

GT4 would look amazing on PC but it would not be a good game.....trust me there is a difference! Firstly the PS2 is what makes gran turismo.....all the thought and work that has gone in to the game has been built around the PS2 platform.....The game needs a system that runs it to the best possible performance and offer the most entertainment. Yes the graphics would be stunning but it would lack the use-ability and gameplay of the PS2.....I can't exsactly say what it is but GT just doesnt seem right for a PC......the system is not right for the game.....games such as C&C have not done well on console because they are suited to PC.....with GT this is the same.....it just don't belong on anything else but Playstation...

My favorite idea so far is that PD would license the engine. That would lead to many new really great titles. I don't believe that will happen either, which is a shame.

The platform would be better, you have a wider rang of decent wheels, better hardware and software support. At worst it would look the same as on the PS2, the system isn't right simply because GT is PS exclusive but on the PC it would look far better, also you'd have less hardware restrictions so larger grids would be possible ect.
