The GT-MES is a 8-race weekly series including cars from the Gr.2 and Gr.3 classes, competing in 40-minute endurance races. The Gr.2 class is scheduled as the „Pro“-class with the fastest drivers and the Gr.3 class is scheduled for „gentlemen drivers“ who want to enjoy the driving and not to push it to the limit every lap. As missing races is very likely, only points from 5 best finishes will count for the championship. Thanks to @sota59and Keyboard there are also small money-’’rewards’’ for titles, see more in the end.

While balance of performance will be off, all cars will have manually adjusted weight settings. After a race, point and weight adjustments will be distributed to the drivers, with more of each going to the higher-placed competitors. A maximum of 2 drivers can race with the same car manufacturer per class, and manufacturer can only appear in one class.
Race Type: 40-minute endurance race (1h for the final race)
Start Type: Standing start
Tire/Fuel settings: 5x/4x
Mechanical damage: Heavy
Visible damage: On
Tuning: On
Tires: RH-RSS
Corner cutting penalties: Weak
Flags and other penalties: On

GT-MES is looking for 1-2 new admins.
New admins will be on key role on big changes coming for Season 6 onwards, as i will have to step back after this season and we change cars for future.
If any interest, PM me, or Nilsemann2002

Can I just clarify a couple of points, as I dont want to unintentionally end up with an advantage or disadvantage? As we are not using BoP, and the limit for gr3 is 600hp/1100kg, are we all tuning to those figures, or using the cars in stock form?

The power or weight limits apply to all cars in the category, before entering the track every driver will have to send a Screenshot of their power/weight settings in our PSN group (I'll add you and the other new drivers 1 or 2 days before the first race to it, you won't miss anything) so we can check it whether it's correct or not. Tuning in all other areas of the car is allowed (for example suspension, aero...) and should not be shown in the screenshot (unless you want show others your setup lol)
I hope this answers your questions ;)

Thank you for confirming. It makes a huge difference to performance, so didn't want to be left behind or running away! Time to go perfect the set up

New season!

GT-MES Season 5 starts in Germany, Nurburgring that has become regular in the series.
Series has been joined by lot of rookies this season, so there is lot of question marks going in to first race.
This season is expected to be last with Gr2-Gr3 -classes for while, and both classes has seen big weight cut, and early comments have told cars being quite different.

Gr2 class should be as exciting as it was last season.

Honda won again both drivers and manufacturers titles last season, and has kept same driver-line up.
Gr2-title holder sota59 from Finland is now 4-time champion. Again he was not the fastest driver, but took the wins he needed, most importantly win from Le Mans.
He starts season again looking for important win, to get good start for title-defense.
Completing all finnish line-up for Honda is jonirune91. He was very important part in his teams success last season, his win in Saint Croux was huge for Honda in manufacturer points, and then his 2nd place in Le Mans secured drivers title to his teammate. This season he needs to show more his speed we saw at times last season, especially start of the season, otherwise he will fall to support role again for his teammate.

Nissan
was close to both titles last season, and have made big addition to their team.
Last seasons runner up VitmnG stays in Nissan for another season. He was most of the time fastest guys in the class, but could not get result needed in final Le Mans round. He will be again one of the fastest guys and will take wins, he missed opener last season, so early lead in championship could bring good luck.
Huge addition to Nissan team is 2-time Gr3 champion xZePhyR96x. He dominated the Gr3-class last season, but 3 missed rounds kept door open to rivals, and his title was under threat going to Le Mans. But he kept his head cool, and took win, and secured the title. Now he makes jump to Nissan Gr2 team next to his former S2 rival VitmnG, who is more experienced in Gr2-cars. His expected missed races and lack of experience will put him to back foot, so he needs to start season on strong result.

Lexus is still looking for that first win after seasons of hard luck.
Rookie Axel could change that. He has shown speed in other series, but lacks experience, unlike his rivals. If he keeps pressing during the season, he can take wins, and be there in the end for title.
Lexus is looking for teammate for him, to help challenge for manufacturer title.

Gr3 has former champion againts new rookies for title.

Mazda
returns to series, and has good line up for titles.
Gr4 champion from S2, Nils has made jump to Mazda. German just lost the Gr3 title in Le Mans last season, but hopes change of car will be key factor in road to title in this season. He has won last 3 season openers in his homerace Nurburgring, and is veteran of the series, so he starts as favorite for win this Friday. He could miss races later in the season, leaving door open for others...
His teammate will be fellow German, rookie farin79. He has great benchmark in his teammate, and gain experience as season moves along.

Audi was car to be in last season, and they have two exciting rookies on the wheel.
road2fury is rookie from Australia. Like most of rookies, we dont know yet what he is made from, but we shall find out as season moves along.
His teammate ACZalex_gaming is also rookie. He will miss 3 first races, but we are excited for his debut.

Ferrari makes its debut in GT-MES.
A Keyboard from USA is set for his first full season in GT-MES, but he has experience from previous seasons. He needs to use his experience to get early lead on his rookie rivals.
Teammate of his is another rookie lavillegr from Australia, whose season we follow tightly.

Another exciting line-up can be found in BMW.
Rookie doc-shipman could be black horse this season, but so could be his friend, and teammate thunderpigeon, who also is rookie!

We will know lot more after first couple races.

If interested to join, PM me or Nilsemann.

A great opening race, although shocked by the quality of my driving - sorry anyone I was near! Not my strongest track and it showed!

Congrats to Thunder-pigeon and xZePhyR96x - some great racing and consistent pace from both.

Here's to Interlagos! Better get practicing! :D

EDIT - Is there going to be an official announcement about the ticks we're all running so we can adjust setups to match?

Yes, ticks will be announced on race day, but i will PM each driver today, and let them know their ticks.

And to clarify, can ticks be a power reduction - or do they have to be weight added?

And to clarify, can ticks be a power reduction - or do they have to be weight added?

We changed to this season, you can only use it on weight, as power seemed overpowered.
Some places may still have miss information

A good bit of testing from Team BMW Michelin last night :) Not setting blistering times, but some nice consistency.

If we can hold that kind of consistent pace during the race we stand a chance for a good finish again I'd say.
