Welcome to my recurring Gran Turismo Sport lobby thread. Inspired by the various Simulation Mode events throughout the Gran Turismo series, this thread will feature a different theme each week, ranging from one-makes to manufacturer rivalries and everything in-between. The general atmosphere for these events is casual. There are no livery, driver aid, or DR/SR restrictions whatsoever. All I ask is that players race as cleanly as possible while adhering to the weekly themes. If you’re interested in a particular event, please notify me via comment or PM and you'll be added to the Player Sign-up Sheet. You may also send a friend request to my PSN username (Satomiblood). Please feel free to make any suggestions you might have and I'll try my best to implement them. The details and sign-up sheet for this week's event are listed below:

Sounds like a cool idea man. I'm usually available around 7pm (or shortly after, depending on when the kids fall sleep) just about every day of the week.

Jerome

I've updated the master post with some lobby specs. I also added a few placeholder posts, such as a sign-up sheet and a link to tuning resources. Feel free to comment if you have suggestions or if you're interested in joining.

The only week I’m free this month is from the 16th to the 23rd. Sunday anytime before 8pm EST would work best. But I am just one person. Best to find a time convenient for everyone.

I've tentatively added you to the sign-up sheet due to your interest. We'll try to nail down a time that suits everyone.

Hey bud,

Good racing with you earlier. I'm EST, and am available either Sunday Mornings or Evenings, for the most part. I work shift work so some weekends just won't work for me.

Agreed. I just randomly loaded the lobby to see if I could get anyone to join and test how it could all work. This is very experimental. I still need to iron out a time that suits everyone.

I made note of your BOP recommendation. Ideally, I’d like everyone to be able to tune their setups and transmission, but I wish there was a way to lock out power and weight. I really want to keep it honest, but that might be hard to implement with the S-FR Racing Concept being the lobby meta since the HP cap is set to 349.

You can always set BOP for power and allow tuning. Then just threaten to kick anyone running the SF-R.

Since there are 4 races, what do you make of making each one class specific? Race 1 = N100, Race 2 = N200, Race 3 = N300, Race 4 = N400?

That works for me as long as you're ok with detuned N200s in the N100 class. There's not a ton of N100 cars that people like to drive. Or maybe we just do a Miata only race for N100?

Detuning is fine. I just noticed that the 2000GT isn’t that far off from N100. So as long as it’s not too far of a drop, I think it’ll work.

Good races. I have to step away for the rest of the day, but let’s keep brainstorming.

@Jump_Ace: How badly do you think BOP will affect your tunes? It's unfortunately the only way to allow tuning while preventing broken stuff from happening. I guess we could just have an honor rule of keeping power/weight limit at 100% and hope drivers keep it there.

With the lower power of these cars, I think the tunes 'should' hold up fine. For faster cars like the MR2, if anything it'd get less hp/more weight. I haven't tried any with BoP on, but there's one way to find out how different the car feels :)

I did test out the 2000GT. It just needed a few clicks to the left on the power bar to become N100 eligible and it drove pretty well. BOP didn't hurt it too much. I'll mess around with the rest.

That 2000GT is gonna slay in n100!

Hoping BOP will make the other N100 cars (Miata, S-FR, and Swift) competitive.

N400 is a ghost town as the S-FR Racing Concept is the only Japanese car in that class. You'll be seeing a lot of N300 cars being tuned up, possibly N500s being tuned down as well.

I have no problem running a tuned up N300. All of the skyline variants, the FD, and even the GRMN 86(Can't remember if that one tunes up to 400) are all very competitive.

EDIT: I guess another option would be an SF-R one make in the N400 class to really even the playing field.

Maybe we'll get another Japanese car or two in that class as part of the update later this month.

I added 2 more races - bringing the total to 6 altogether - and changed up the order a bit to improve some of the N class/track pairings. Thoughts?

Race 1 - N100 - Kyoto Driving Park (Miyabi) (12 Laps)
Race 2 - N200 - Tokyo Expressway (Central Outer Loop) (5 laps)
Race 3 - N300 - Kyoto Driving Park (Yamagiwa) (5 laps)
Race 4 - N400 - Tsukuba (8 laps)
Race 5 - N500 - Tokyo Expressway (East Inner Loop) (3 laps)
Race 6 - N600 - Suzuka Circuit (5 laps)

Suzuka on Sports is gonna be savage in N600, but I am down.

I'm gonna start practicing these this week. I'm not going to be able to race the next two Sundays unfortunately, unless it's before 9:30 am. The next 7 weeks after I'm good, though.

Will fuel and/or tire wear be enabled at all? Sorry if I missed that earlier.

Jerome

Yup. They'll be set at the minimum (1x). No need to pit since the races won't be long enough at that level. The wear on the tire gauge is barely noticeable on most of the tracks upon completion. The only one where the wear is more noticeable, and that probably depends on the car you're driving, is Suzuka. I tested the Civic out on that track and the gauge was almost a quarter in the red up front.

I think I’m going to drop Miyabi from 12 laps to 9. It’s not that much shorter than Tsukuba, which I have set at 8.

I like your idea. Unfortunately I am from Holland which means 1 hour time difference from London (BST?). I dont know if this can work out ?

As far as your idea: I have organised some Japan open lobbies nights. Starting from N100 and moving your way up. Basically the same as you are doing. So I think your idea is good enough to start this series.
